Razo and Danica conferred briefly before splitting up. From his tone, she judged that the sly, yellow-eyed male had snatched point, and made a note to adjust her own path accordingly. Danica flew in a wide arc, revving up for a sprint, with Njal mimicking her position on the opposite side. At the rear, the two wolf-sized snow-flakes began to close in on the creature, moving slowly at first, forcing it to skitter in the direction of the waiting huntsman.

Suddenly, the age-old instinct to survive forced the doe into action - Bazi eased off, going wide in case their prey made any sudden changes and needed to be herded back in Razo's direction. Njal and Danica rocketed into action (or at least Karm assumes she will, and is referencing it as vaguely as possible) just as Razo floored their target, speeding forward to finish the job.

With the deer caught, not sure another 'round' is needed. No real posting order from here on out and no need to wait for me to continue to RP.. but maybe we can work on fading,e tc? :)

The wolves he had chosen for his own team were efficient – his own teeth shred in to the haunch to keep the beasts momentum down, and Galileo was quick to sink in to the shoulder and begin to sway the deer. Surprising to him was when leaf stole a moment of opportunity, sinking her jaws to the neck of the animal and drawing its final breaths.

As it sank to the ground, defeated, and soon dead, the dark agouti wolf pulled back, his tongue smoothing across his lips as he looked to the others with a slow smirk. Glancing over, he seen the other team give a delivering blow as well – Swiftcurrent Creek would eat well this day.

“Good job,” he uttered, catching his breath as he moved upward of the deer. Nosing at it, his eyes briefly skimmed to Fox, wondering if she would be taking her share anytime soon. Lifting to touch his nose to the cheeks of both Galileo and Leaf, he shifted then, turning his attention back to the group.

“You’ve all done your pack proud,” he offered, his voice rising as his tail swung heavily through the air. It was a finalization of sorts – Scimitar was never known to be the talkative type, and he let his compliment wash over them in turn of congratulations and invitation to feast. Without another word, he shifted his weight then, bending his muzzle down and beginning to gnaw away at a limb – Tuwawi would need to be provided for, and he would not wait to fill his own belly up prior.

In the end everything worked for the best, every little effort each of the wolves present gave joined as one. Even if it wasn't him who gave the conclusive blow, his actions played were key for their success. Panting and heaving the older male look around, his amber eyes holding pride not only for him but for the Creek as a whole.

He received Scimitar's congratulations with a smile, and an elegant dip of his muzzle, "You did well kid" he barked in a low voice that rumbled in his chest. Then as the male turned to adress the rest of the wolves gathered, Galileo turned his head towards Leaf, the imp had placed the cherry on top.

"You stole the show, missy" he whispered sweetly, while a smile tugged at his lips. Leaf was one of his few friends in the creek. "Are you secretly an actress?" he joked while nosing her cheek affectionately.

A small smile tugged at Shadow's lips as he looked around, their hunt had been successful. He dipped his head in acknowledgment to Scimitar's praise, he was probably not the ones who would give the pack a speech after their success or beforehand and for that Shadow was grateful. He knew that he would literally die of boredom if that had happened even though it'll probably be important.

He trotted up to the deer that he had helped caught, perhaps he had not delivered any killing bites but he had driven the deer to the attackers and slowed it down and that was enough for the young silver wolf. Though he had always loved to be the one with the killing bite, he'll content himself with participating.

Danica was right where needed when the time came, and while Razo's teeth met the left, her own latched onto the doe's right. Instead of the throat she went for the legs, attempting to cripple the creature. She slashed and backed off, licking blood from her lips and satisfied in the knowledge that they had her. Razo's attack had sealed her death but she and Njal sped the process by halting her motion. Their prize now lay with its life fading quickly.

Ignoring Scimitar and his praise, she looked for Fox to begin eating so she could follow suit. She didn't need him to tell her she had done well. All she wanted was some food in her stomach. The doe smelled delicious.

Leaf was all wags as Scimitar congratulated them--and more specifically, her. Releasing her grasp on the deer's neck, she obediently moved away as she waited for the other higher ranked wolves to feed first. Scimitar would be one of them, but she knew that the parents of the pack along with the leaders would get the first portion.

So with nothing else to do than wait, she gladly received Galileo's attention. Giggling despite herself, still giddy from their successful hunt, she did not play along with his jokes--funny as she found them. Instead, she continued to enjoy the rush of adrenaline that coursed through her little body. Eagerly, she returned his nip of affection and pranced about. "That was exhilarating, Gray Star!" she said with a yap. "Promise you'll take me on another hunt, okay, okay?" Her eyes were bright, and she circled him once, twice before finally settling down. Just a bit.

*kisses all of you*

Fox watched it all go down, and she was pleased with how well her team of wolves worked together. She was content to be on the sidelines, at least for today, and she imagined many more hunts would be in their future that she could more actively participate in. Besides, this had been a test for Scimitar, not a show of her own skills.

She would eat well today, and she was proud of her pack. Once she had gorged herself, the little red wolf passed out only a few feet from the carcass, feeling dizzy and tired even though she'd done nothing but sit and watch.

Whoops and cheers went up all around as the two animals took their last breath. Wolves swarmed the carcasses, bickering, laughing, and asserting their dominance over each other. Bazi gave Danica's rear a nip as she passed, moving to the opposite side of the deer to eat. Only now did she realize just how hungry she was, and it wasn't long before she - like Fox - had eaten so much that a nap became unavoidable.

It wasn’t long before Njal and Danica launched their part in the attack and the doe crashed heavily to the ground. He reached for the initial tear in her throat with his shining, slick fangs and gave a great wrench of his sinuous muscles, allowing the final volumes of her blood spill and stain the soil his large, capable paws stood on. Her wide, black eyes grew vacant as life bled away from them.

It was then that the sounds from the other group across the way prompted him to look up to where he could easily see the sprawled, fallen animal they’d pursued, and his adrenaline ceased its firm hold on his body as it very slowly began to ebb. He turned and paced a few strides away as he waited to stake a claim in his victory hunk of meat and divvy up what remained for the caches with any hunter who felt the same inclination.
