He had been dazed -- for a while Peace thought it was a dream, but now that dawn was breaking over the meadow, he was finally sure that it had happened after all. With the arrogance that comes from youth, he didn't realize just how lucky he had been -- he very well could have wandered into no-wolf's land or into the jaws of something bigger and hungrier than he was. Now, he wandered aimlessly, ending up at the creek that ran through the territory, pausing to take a drink.

Well. At least it was pretty here. He was rather hesitant to actually seek out his new packmates, however. It wasn't like he was experienced at the whole dealing with non-family thing, let alone knowledgeable on what he should do to really assimilate or whatever. Maybe they had some screwball culture that he hadn't noticed upon joining (it was all a blur anyway) and he'd go and stick his foot in his mouth two words in to having a "normal" conversation. It was all new territory to him, both figuratively and literally.

It had to happen some time. Raising his head, he took a quick look around before heading farther upstream at a slow trot as the world brightened around him.

Aside from having learned what a wolverine was- and deciding that if she could have any superhero powers, she'd want whatever crazy powers made wolverines so awesome- Finch hadn't learned a great deal about pack life. Not that learning what a wolverine was had anything to do with learning about pack life- but she wanted to at least say that she'd learned something. Something was better than nothing, after all, and she wasn't willing to believe that she'd actually just learned that there really wasn't all that much to being a pack wolf. There had to be something more to it.

So she decided her next target definitely had to be a wolf. No excuses. So she picked up the first set of fresh tracks that she could and began to follow the scent until she saw him- a young wolf, less than a year old but not much different from Finch in size, though she was a good bit thinner in her legs and ribcage. (And face and hips and...Well, everything.) He was definitely a wolf- likely all wolf, unlike Finch, but he was young and therefore a good target, no? He'd been born into this life- and if he was young, he wouldn't have been born that long ago, and was therefore even closer to the whole 'what it's like to be a wolf from birth' thing.

Finch had never been good at reasoning.

"Heya kid," She called, bounding toward him at a springy trot. "Whatcha doin'?"

He barely slowed when he heard her coming. Yep, Peace was totally not a gentleman. He had zero idea if she was heading in his direction just by coincidence or if she actually wanted to talk or something. For a few moments, he dismissed her entirely, continuing on. Then, she called out to him.

For a brief moment it almost seemed like Peace might respond with something more befitting a standard reply, but of course that couldn't happen. He scowled. "You should eat more." Though he'd heard of coyotes, he hadn't had the opportunity to see one in the flesh -- he had figured they'd be significantly different somehow or other, anyway -- and as such pretty much assumed the hybrid female was a wolf like him, but one that for some reason had yet to grow into her ears. Oh yeah, and he also seemed to pretty much be lacking the brain-to-mouth filter that had likely developed in a lot of wolves his age. It wasn't like she could go tattle on him to his parents, anyway -- he said, she said! Ah, the lovely sounds of ignorance.

"Looking around, duh." Wasn't it obvious, he thought? "Gotta see where I'm staying and all that." There wasn't much else for him to do. He'd barely been learning to hunt when he left and was barely educated in brawling, and now with no assigned tutor he was left to his own devices -- pretty much meaning wandering pointlessly until someone stopped him or until he somehow managed to befriend someone to teach him. Thinking the other awkward canine was a fellow pup, he wasn't exactly expecting her to fulfill any of those roles.
