@Jace :D
Edit: tag fail!!! Urgh

A few short weeks ago there was no way Danica would have been in this vicinity, but now, with the scent of the creek faded away and Duskfire's new claim upon her, she technically no longer had to stay away. At least, as far as she saw it. She wasn't about to go into Sunspire lands (tempting though it may be to seek a rematch), but surely wandering about this close wouldn't raise their ire.

She hadn't been able to really see these mountains, not when every time she had entered them she had been making a beeline either to or from the spire. Now though she was going to take a good look around, starting with this northern area. She'd avoid any borders though out of deference to Tuwawi and Njal. They would hardly like her making enemies so soon.

As was usual for the dark male lately, he was searching the surrounding area for any sign of Ferdie or the cougar. He had upped his patrols, forced other aspiring wardens to do the same thing. They were to small in number yet again to fight off a cougar, without serious consequences, so they would merely be on the defensive for now.

Jace walked and ran into the she wolf from the nighttime raiding party. Though he wanted to growl, he didn't. He could smell Njal and Tuwawi on her pelt, and mistakingly thinking that perhaps Njal had sent her, he wagged his tail slightly. He did however quickly put that simple movement to bed. Please tell me you're not heading for our borders again? I really don't have the patience today. That was all he said, he wasn't being rude he was merely inquiring.

It looked like they did venture out after all. She had been idly wondering if she would meet someone out here. She didn't know who this man was, but just because she didn't want to cause trouble didn't necessarily mean she had to behave either. This was neutral ground after all.

"Aww, not even a hello? I'm hurt," she responded with mock affront in her tone. "That's no way to treat a peaceful traveler." She huffed, then grinned.

"Actually, surprisingly, I'm avoiding your borders. Whoever 'you' may be. I don't think the glacier wants any trouble with you sunspire folks, much is a pity." She shook her head. She was half joking at least about wanting the conflict... It had been good practice though.

Jace wasn't about to start a shit storm on neutral territory, or even with one of Njal's wolves. Especially now that he and Njal were on neutral terms they neither hated or liked each other, but were aquaintances again. It was sad really, but truth be told the dark boy would rather have it this way than that way.

Despite himself Jace chuckled at her words. He gave a mock bow. Touche, I am Jace. He grew quiet, but his eyes laughed at her. Jace shook his head Nor do we want any trouble, we have never wanted any trouble actually, but it found us. I would not attack one of Njal's wolves. It would be fool hardy, I hope all is well. I was up that way when you were still very new. He shifted his weight and gave her another smile and simply waited.

"Ahhh, the infamous Jace, in the flesh. I feel like I'm meeting a celebrity with as much I've heard about you." She studied him more closely now. "To hear everyone else talk you wouldn't think that, though honestly I don't really care who did what. I just enjoyed the excitement. How's that Alpha of yours and his lovely lady friend anyway? Last time I saw them didn't go well for me, though to be fair it'd been a trying week. I'd love for a rematch, at least against her. Much as I hate to say it, she had some moves."

"Though maybe not lady friend, now that I think on it. Please, I'd hate myself if I didn't ask.. is it true, you and Ferdie? I can't fault you, though I question your taste. Scout's honor, I won't tell." She wasn't about to worry about offending him, so anything was fair game as far as questions went. If he got huffy over a little friendly curiosity then that was hardly her concern. No matter if she was being a bit forward.

Jace listened and tilted his ears forward, None of it good I imagine. Most hate me. Jace shifted his weight his hackles raising and fallin, We settled on the mountain too injured to go anywhere else. Foolishly thinking Fox would leave us alone, but she continued to harass us. We would have left you alone if she had left us alone. So No we did not want trouble, but we gave exactly what we got. Jace smiled at Ame's skills, and it was Ame he knew that had left the marks on the pale girls fur. Yes Amekaze is a force to be reckoned with, she has a good heart though. You met her at the wrong time. He grew quiet, not sure why he felt the need to defend his friend, when this Danica had said nothing really bad about her. But he did it anyway.

Jace stared at her, what about him and Ferdie. What the hell did she mean then it dawned on him and bile rose in his throat. What the Fuck? Who told you that? Let me assure you I like females and Ferdie and I are not lovers, have never been lovers. Holy Shit. I mean I have nothing against that, but it is not for me as far as I know anyway. As a matter of fact Ame and Ferdie aren't lovers either. We don't even know where Ferdie is. He shook his head and stared at her with fire burning in his blue eyes. He actually wanted to laugh at the absurdity of such a question. He thought back trying to remember anything that would make anyone think that.

She shrugged. "I get it, you protect your own, we protect our own. Most of us really weren't happy with the way Fox handled that either. Though personally I didn't really care. Wasn't like I knew you guys." It wasn't personal, wasn't like she felt any ire towards him. She just didn't give a shit about anyone who wasn't counted family or friend. So if her family told her to attack, and she felt it a reasonable request, she'd do so without hesitation. That was why she couldn't fault them for attacking her when she'd entered their lands, but she felt they couldn't fault her for trying to rescue those they had captured. "She was just doing her job, same as me."

She snorted out some laughter at his completely indignant response to her question. Apparently he wasn't aware of what was said about him. Pity, she thought maybe they could have a bonding sesh. "Oh, here and there. No need to get worked up, I'm not gonna spread it around, I believe you." He was far too affronted to be lying. "Though it would've been nice to find another." She smirked at him. "If you're sure."

The news about Ferdie being gone was an interesting little tidbit that she filed away to possibly inform later. Though she wasn't an outrider that didn't mean she couldn't keep her ears open all the same. It didn't really affect them much, but if they came across this Ferdie and happened to return news of him home, perhaps the Sunspire would owe them a bit. And that could never hurt.

Jace looked at her and sighed You may not have known me and I didn't know you, but I knew many of the others. He couldn't begin to explain the feeling of betrayal and hurt that he had been put through. He was fine for the most part now, but occasionally a small twinge would still get him.

Jace stared at her for a moment, to be honest he had never really thought about males or females. He just always assumed he would like females, because of instincts and babies and all that. Thus far he had only ever had crushes on girls. As far as I know I only like females. I have honestly never thought about it, and really don't plan on thinking of it either. I figure i'll fall in love with who i fall in love with, and not settle for anything less. it was the truth of the matter and something he believed fully and completely.

A few months ago, Danica might have scoffed at his answer. After all, he had been kicked out. Therefore, they couldn't have really cared that much about him, so weren't worth the thought. Now, though, things were different. "I actually, surprisingly, understand that." She wasn't about to get all sentimental with him, they weren't friends, but she felt where he was coming from.

"How very progressive of you," she responded to his other answer, grinning. "A pretty ideal, and I wish you luck with that." Sometimes Danica wished she could just settle for less.

Jace did not make friends easily, enemies he made every second sometimes it felt like. But he did not really mind, no attatchments no problems. That made him rather aloof and a little bit cold he supposed, but well it was life plain and simple. At least life for him in any capacity.

Jace looked at her and spoke softly The way I see it if I don't settle for less, I'm not going to go looking for a pretty little something to sink myself into. That way that when it does come along I wasn't looking and it makes it that much more special, as crude as that sounds. It's the only way I know how to say that. He shuffled his feet a little uncomfortable with what he just said, but he couldn't think of any other way to explain it, than in the crude rather barbaric way he just did.

Danica gave a delighted grin when he spoke his next words. Now he was speaking a little more on her level. "Don't knock the pretty little somethings till you've tried one." She returned. "But I guess to each their own."

Getting a bit bored with this line of conversation, Danica continued on. "Well, though the stories disappoint, this has been a lovely conversation." Rather a pointless one, but it had helped to kill a little time, so it was all good in her books. "And don't worry too much if you change your mind about the ladies. I hear it's all the rage now." Well, maybe not. But she couldn't resist poking at him one last time.

Jace chuckled softly, but his thoughts immediately went to Leaf, she had been a pretty little thing, and he missed her. But she had disappeared from his life, just like smoke. He looked at her and dipped his muzzle.

Jace tilted his head The stories, if you speak of the fact that I maybe a devil incarnate or some monster I assure you they in fact maybe true, I am not angel. However, if you speak of the ones of the lover of men sorry to disappoint, but they are indeed false. He shook his head in mock horror, he could not imagine using a female so, mostly because he was raised differently.

fading this ^^ I enjoyed it!

"Mmm, well, aren't we all monsters in a way?" She replied, smiling as she did so. She didn't know many who hadn't given in to their worst natures at least a time or two, and anyone could be cruel even if they kept those thoughts to themselves. Life had convinced Danica by now that everyone carried a monster within them. Some were just better at hiding it.

"From one monster to another, good luck this winter. I never had anythin against your pack before, at least no more than I would any rival. So I hope you guys have some good fortune." Now that she was no longer having fun accosting them, she could take a step back to admire their audacity in picking a territory so close to Fox's at the time. Perhaps they hadn't meant it to be an insult, but Danica found it hilarious all the same. "I'll probably not see you around." And without another word she headed for home.
