Set the day after his acceptance, the day before the pack event.

Night was drawing near, and he had only covered about half of Duskfire Glacier by way of memorizing it. The hardy traveler was well-versed in many types of terrain, so none of it was particularly difficult for the mountaineer, but he wanted to know every inch of it, every scent and every landmark. He didn't intend on stopping when the sun set. The virile wolf was far from tired. His eyes, like sea-glass, were wide and exuberant from the small trills of adrenaline that pulsed through his thick frame. He was excited to be a part of a pack; more than eager to learn what he had to know.

The Xi found a stream trickling down the base of the pack's main attraction. He paused there to have a cold drink, the rangy stone brute crouching and lapping at the water as if he hadn't drank in days. His eyes, still vividly wide, shifted from side and side as he continued to take in his surroundings. Normally this would be out of wariness, for the life of a loner was a precarious one, but no longer.
