Arrluk lifts from his place, following her but stopping at the water's edge to now disturb the surface. He is still, quiet, as he watches her and should anything for any reason go wrong he would be there.

It was tangible, the silence. Hushed breath in keyed up quiet. Both waiting for something, neither one was sure would happen. One in watchful awareness the other all too aware of self.

Ajei bent to task. She watched the shadows, the small fish. Finally, she worked up enough nerve to press forward and push head into water.

However, she miscalculated and missed and came back up, empty mouthed, red head streaming and green eyes wide. But she giggled when she caught sight of her expression.

rolled a failure :)

Arrluk is perfectly content to watch her quietly. He had come to enjoy the calm and comfort of the water, of fishing. He had come to follow his father's steps on the long winding trails while freshening borders and scouting for intruders.

When she struck down and into the water, He nearly jumped from the sudden movements. She was swift! But, her aim had been off and the fish was missed.

Gonna give it another go?

Rolled a failure again <3

Arrluk had startled slightly when she had pressed into the small river to fish. She was much like him in the aspect that she sought the river for solace, but. In her she enjoyed the music it made as it rushed and flowed. The songs that it sang to her it felt like anyway. It was beautiful and moving and it made her heart ache in the best possible ways. Sometimes she worried she could get lost in it.

So this time she decided to maybe try a little more carefully. So she gave a nod.

One more time.

So she found herself back into the water. Green eyes turned downwards. Following the shadows, but now she was mindful of the first mistake, and perhaps a bit overzealous. So when she struck, she managed not to grab anything again. She resurfaced, coughing this time and pulled herself from the water.

She moved a slight foot away and shook the water from the fire kiss of her pelt. and licked at her shoulders, to press the fur down.

Then she moved over and nudged him gently with her nose. You did wonderfully. I have some timing to work on. Shall we show your pop your prize?

She knew how much is father meant to him.

Can fade here if you'd like? They are due for their new one!

Another miss. Arrluk wouldn't let it discourage him and hoped it would not allow Ajei too either. It took much time and practice to get it right and even those who were skilled had their failures, just like with any hunt- be it hunting birds, rodents or deer.

The vibrance of her coat shined when she jumped from the water, the sun giving it a further brightness. His tail brushed his legs behind him as she shook out and worked down her shoulder fur.

Yes, we can share it with him...! He said excitedly, ready to eat his very first fish. Snatching the fish up into his mouth once more, he waited for her to take lead. Fully skinned by Ajei, his mouth already began to water from the taste of the flesh on his tongue. It was delicious. Far different in taste and texture then any red meat he had before- goats, rabbit, muskrat, deer and elk, and Arrluk really liked elk! Now Arrluk finally knew what all the fuss was about from his dad.

I'll fade. Who starts?

She didn't let it bother her. You caught and sometimes you didn't. So with gentle heart and happiness for him. She would go with him to share with his father.

There was a lightness to the air. It was a fun day with one of her dearest.

Ajei smiled and led the way smile and laughter for it all. It would be good to see the father and son bond.
