All Welcome
when she had glut herself on enough meat (fish at first, an unlucky mallard and it's eggs, and then a river otter which had thought itself quick enough to steal one—it had failed, to her benefit) zharille did a sweep of the land along the lakeside and ended up back where it all began: the filled and collapsed den.

she had no need of a den now; not yet, anyway. there was a vague desire to fix what wasn't truly broken, though. she began to excavate the section of earth and told herself it would be suitable as a cache until it was needed otherwise.

her claws caught in the soil and she pulled at the earth until some came free, and worked this way until it had become a hollow again.
