Nefarious' assumptions were proven correct when the Bypass leader spoke those words, asking Scimitar if he was heartless enough to forbid Shadow from seeing them. Nefarious half had the mind to inform the scarred Unwelcome that just because he sired them did not make him their father. Suluk was not his father by any biological means (not that Nefarious remembered his biological parents) but Suluk was his father without any means of doubt. Blood and seed did not define such a word; and just because it was Shadow's seed the created them did not mean that he had any right to them. Then again, Nefarious had a very different view on the matter of biological and adopted thing seeing as how he was (he assumed) an orphaned and then adopted child.

Yet this truly had nothing to do with him — he had no involvement with Paar beyond their acquaintanceship as pack mates, and he was not a leader, thus he kept his thoughts to himself, pleased when Scimitar retorted sharply. Nefarious' respect for his alpha raised immediately as his leader spoke to the Unwelcome. The shaman kept silent, watching for the Bypass leader's reaction, assuming that it was not likely to be a good one.
