June was out exploring, at two months old she quite often came to the entrance of the den and sat watching the clouds, the grass, the rocks - anything and everything. Her eyes focused on the smallest, minute, details as time fluttered by. She didn't interact with anything, her processing power was pleased enough to just watch the tiny creatures crawl over the rocks. It captivated her.

It would be wrong to say, however, that she wasn't smart. She was, she thought about these creatures and how they lived. She thought about how different their life must be to her own and imagined herself as one of them. Her brain allowed her to get so caught up with these tiny moments, stretched them into minutes or hours, that she didn't notice the arrival of others.

Right now, she had her nose buried in the crevasse between two rocks by the den's entrance, taking in every last scent of the creature that had deposited their mark on the rock.

The shadows became one of Bindi's best friends. They protected her from the light, and hid her well. She had realized that she needed to connect with members of the pack, but she only had a few members in mind. She crawled through shadows not wanting to be seen by Fitz or Riassa as she approached the Alpha's den. No, she simply wanted to be seen by two little bundles of fur. Lucky for Bindi one of those little bundles was outside, and observing the smallest, and most boring creatures.

A smile formed on the midnight wolfess's face as she watched the pup sniff the rock. However Bindi wanted to have some fun with the little one, but that would mean stepping out into the light and so she didn't move. Instead she turned around and stuck her tail out so that the pup could see it, and began to sway it back and forth. All Bindi had to do was get June to go after her tail, and then they could go on an adventure together. They could have fun.

As her nose sniffed, carefully, her eyes wandered wildly. She was looking out for whatever had left this strange and odd smells. Before long, her eyes registered that something was moving. It was an odd movement going one way then stopping and going the other. Her head followed it's movements as her sniffing stopped and she watched it's careful and smooth movement.

She stepped towards it, defensive instincts taking over quite intently. One step, then a pause as it came towards her again. Another step as it moved away and a tensing of her small body as it came back again. It didn't seem harmful, it didn't seem like it was going to stop doing what it was already doing, but still she made sure to stay out of the way so it couldn't touch her on its return.

Bindi twisted her head as best she could to attempt to watch the young pup. The obsidian female found it quite hilarious that June couldn't determine it was another wolf's tail. Still, she sway her dark tail back and forth before pulling it into the shadows where she was hiding, and wondered if the girl would follow it. Instead of allowing the youngster some time to chase the tail, Bindi turned and stuck her head out of the darkness.

"Peek-a-boo" she said before slipping back into the shadows. It then registered it the midnight wolfess's mind that June may not know this name yet. Still Bindi waited to see the girl's reaction, may it be good or bad. She had not spent much time with the young girl, and didn't know what she enjoyed. However she was determined to find out.

So sorry for the wait! Thought I'd replied to this one too. #fail

June didn't chase after it, Mason would have done but she wasn't as brave as he was. June had to wait for things to become steady and sure before she would whole heartedly give in to something. She felt the need to analysis every little thing around her, make sure everything was okay. Then she would relax.

The tail disappeared and the black wolfess came from the shadows with a boo, making June visibly jump into the air and start shaking. She wasn't one for frights, though as her eyesight improved enough to differentiate the dark, shadows wouldn't scare her like it did now. Looking around her she worried about what might have caused the noise, worried that something would hurt her. She knew she shouldn't have left the den.
