The storm had pushed back Dante's plans of a pack hunt, but he was not deterred for long. Especially now, he welcomed any activity that brought relief in distraction, and tracking was one such necessity. Evening was falling, but still he crossed the open ground near the plateau's edge, following the scent of deer to the herd that he'd been eyeing as a possibility.
This hunt required more setup, for they could not risk danger so much with novice hunters among them. A herd with an injured or slower deer was pretty much necessity as it would provide a good target for the young and experienced to go after alike. If the pack could separate it, the danger to Lasher and Blue Willow's children would be lessened considerably, and they could experience their first participatory hunt in a real capacity.
Silver eyes flicked back and forth as his ears twisted, searching for any sign the herd was growing close. He wanted to know as soon as possible, to hide himself. It wouldn't do to scare them out of the territory before they could even assess.
