Sure, running away from her strict, rule abiding Alpha parents wasn't her best plan yet..but it sure felt good! To be away from their insufferable sneers and remarks is all she ever wanted. But she realized she couldn't go on alone. Without a pack to shelter her, she was a target for snatching. No doubt, her parents had sent someone out to find her by now, in hopes that they could contain the one thing they couldn't control. But she refused to ever go back there. Nothing and nobody could make her do it.

She had searched days for a pack the farthest away from her parents, and she found one. Frostfire Ridge. From what she had heard, it didn't occupy many members, but that was fine by her. As long it was the farther away, the better. Finally she reached the borders. She new that the next step was to call the Alpha. She didn't want to be hesitant but she was. She knew that what she was about to do would strip away any ties to her old pack. From her family. Her brother. But he would be fine. In her parents eyes, he was perfect.

She threw her head back and called for the Alpha, @Tezcacoatl , in her call was the essence of pride, determination and a willingness to prove herself.
Sorry about the wait on this! I'm back from vacation now and will get back into the swing of posting. :D @Iris

A howl rung out through the air for him. It did not hold any lilting tone that was familiar but given the last joiner that Frostfire Ridge had taken — whom had literally tumbled down and hurt herself close to the borders — he appreciated that the female calling for him at his borders didn't seem to share in the other newest addition's clumsiness (or so he hoped at any rate). Frostfire's numbers had dwindled quickly and to make his mood measurably worse Tuwawi had been scarce lately. He hadn't seen much of her, if any of her at all and that caused worry to eat at the pit of his stomach, but for the sake of seeing what he felt might easily become his sinking ship through he kept pressing on. Keeping his eyes on the horizon and his sets on the future. He didn't count himself and those that remained out of the running yet and it was those wolves that presently needed his attention. Needed him to be the leader that Frostfire Ridge needed.

Tezcacoatl had not been close when the female's howl had risen to carry along the winds but he'd been heading in her general direction, running one of his numerous patrols of his borders. The aftermath of the tornado had him on edge. It had missed the Ridge but he had watched as it tore apart the lands near his pack. He'd never seen anything like it before and wondered if there were any aspiring naturalists in his pack. If there were he could think of a few missions for them; but those would be for another time he reminded himself as his pace slowed, nearing where he could see the female's silhouette in the nearby distance. His posture changed, tall and rigid, showing rank so that who and what he was would not easily be mistaken.

“You called?” Tezcacoatl inquired as he drew nearer, steps ceasing when he was close to his borders though still on the inside, crystalline blue gaze roaming over to assess.
Its's all good:) Welcome back!

Despite her usual demeanor, it was possible for Iris to be calm and collected. Unfortunately her current feelings did not agree. It wasn't like she was shaking in nervousness, but there was something bugging her at the back of her mind, reassuring herself that everything she had hoped for would burn in a fiery inferno. Among those things were, her parents finding her, her brother finding her and the Alpha that she hoped to impress, rejecting her. Upon entering the Teekon Wilds, she learned that life as a lone wolf was not that what she expected. The strong, picking on you, the wildlife, damaging you, and even the weak but with a pack, taunting you. It just wasn't for her. And plus, she had heard of a pack, Black-something that was based solely on praising the "night mother" and had a cult of assassins, spies and murderers at their fingertips. Despite her Alpha lineage, she couldn't face that, no matter how hard it was for her to admit.

Her ears perked up, awaking herself from deep thought. Her nerves vanished and her mind instantly tried to recall the lessons her parents had forcefully instructed her. However, Iris had not exactly payed much attention, solely to annoy her father. She cursed, only wishing she could remember. But when the Alpha emerged, she felt a sense of relief and confidence. Whatever happened within the next few minutes would disintegrate the last strings keeping her attached to her last pack. Now before the Alpha, she was ready. She lowered her head, remembering to show the Alpha that he was dominant. She didn't exactly like it, to her it was her showing weakness, but she knew that it was a sign of respect. "Hello. My name is Iris and I request you permission to join the ranks of your pack, Frostfire Ridge" She said firm and straightforward.
Thank you. :-)

Tezcacoal was stoic, stalwart in his stance as he studied her wondering who she was, her purpose at his borders, and why she'd sought them out. He did not ask these things though. He knew from experience that they would come out on their own time. Perhaps not always — for there were always those wolves who stood at the border tight lipped. That, the Rekkr had never understood. What was the point of joining a pack if you didn't want to tell it's leader what you had to offer them. Tight lipped wolves were more receptacle to receiving his rejection then wolves that were open. Tezcacoatl did not turn wolves away (lest he had a good reason too, mind) but their place within his pack wasn't a stable one until they earned the Warrior trade. It was how the Ridge operated, taking elements of the Vikings and Amazons; both cultures were formidable and feared warriors.

The woman spoke a greeting, which was followed shortly thereafter with a name. Iris. Simple. Easy for him to remember. Though there was a soft start of surprise that resounded within Tezcacoatl when she named his pack. Now that was curious, he found. As far as Tezcacoatl was aware not many knew of Frostfire Ridge's existence within the wilds. Only those who had once been apart of it. He wasn't aware that at least one of his fellow Northerner packs knew of it and thus he didn't even consider that any of the packs in the North knew of them (at least by name) anyway. He did not make his presence known by parlaying with them — had no desire too. Alliances were a waste of time and if Ragnar had taught Tezcacoatl anything it was that Alphas of other packs would always seek the best interest of their own pack first, breaking off any flimsy lie of an alliance in the first place. “You know the name of my pack? How?” Tezcacoatl pressed his curiosity and caution sparked. For now, everything else could wait to the chocolate coated Rekkr.
Iris froze. She had wanted to avoid mentioning her ties to Alpha's. Her parents knew of everything that went on in the neighboring land, the Teekon. She had only guessed this was the pack that she had heard the name of. She knew that her mother had been born somewhere around here, and had numerous ties to the land surrounding. I was only by chance that she had picked up on the name.
She shifted uncomfortably, but trying her best not to make it noticeable. "Can I leave it at, I have heard of the name among small talk. Nothing big. I promise i'm not a threat or a spy if that's what you're wondering. I simply seek this small haven for my own purposes", she calmly replied. She spoke only with truth, looking into his eyes. And she didn't want to spark any suspicion. Mentioning her Alpha parents would have definitely caused intense question, and she didn't want that. She only wanted to get away from them and forget. No anchor would hold her back from being free. Not again.
