There wasn't much that could get the woman to stop from running, but the smell of a pack's borders certainly did the trick. Her sprint slowly dwindled down to a trot while her ears listened for any sign of patrolling wolves, though only the croaking of frogs was heard along with the cries of ravens and crows. A dark and dirty place it appeared to be, much like the marsh the wolfess was born in. Her motherly bond was vanishing each day she was apart from her children and in few months her care for them would be completely gone. Adelina prayed that her children could care for themselves or were fortunate enough to find an older packmate because at only six months of age, the female had little faith they could survive on there own for long.

Already being apart from her children for a month now, Adelina had given up hope in finding any of them. Only the bodies of her three daughters were found after the attack, while her mate lay dead in a pool of blood. In a split second the woman had seen her pride and joy be ripped from her grasp, her pack in pieces and children dead. She had failed them. However while there was little hope for her youngest offspring, Adelina still had a fighting chance, and joining a pack could be the fresh start she needed. With confidence in herself she sat along the southern border and called out for any Alphas or leadership of the pack.
Not sure if I like that title, haha. xD

Burke had been with Meldresi at the time the howl sounded. Burke's ears were usually very keen on hearing the howls of newcomers, especially after he missed the one from Abelinda. He liked to review newcomers himself. The male pulled himself from his mate and then trotted though the web of tunnels that laid under the dark forest. He came up through the entrance that was close to the border. Traveling underground was very efficient, it was almost like having their own highway, if you knew the way. Naturally the alpha knew his own lands.

He resurfaced and used the shadows to hide in. He studied the grey female at the border, she had a weird thing around her neck. Burke wasn't sure what it was but he was wary of it. The tank of a male trotted forward, his docked tail held up. The male smelled of his mate and the ground around him. His pale eyes on her without looking away. The immense male stopped before her. His expression calm and rather stoic. "You called," he stated, giving her permission to speak.
Hehe, guess Burke better keep an eye out :p

Time passed, and as she waited her eyes wandered to the trees that covered the pack's lands. The faint smell of a swamp could be detected and the sudden reminder of home filled the wolfess with a mixer of emotions. Her home would always be a special place, however it was also one of her worst nightmares. As the light fog that danced across the ground settled, a large shadow came forth dominant and confident. The natural urge to growl at someone other than herself showing dominance was held within and her cold eyes inspected the male before of her.

The first thing that caught her eye was his stubby tail, she had never seen a wolf with a tail such as his. Her silver eyes then wandered to his own icy blue gaze. In the next moment she stood, not enjoying being smaller than him, though even when standing the male towered over her. Sucking up what needed to be done, the female bowed in respect to the alpha of these lands and listened as he spoke quickly. "And you answered" she responded to his remark of her calling him. Though she was prepared for a full out interrogation much like the ones she had delivered to her own subordinates, Adelina wanted this to go as quickly as smoothly as possible. Her piercing orbs drifted from his face and to a branch in the distance before flickering back to his eyes. "I wish to join."
Meldresi would rip her to shreds and then feed those pieces to loners xD

Burke realized that this female had a certain air of leadership around him but she did respectfully greeted him, which was definitely a plus. He did want her to know that there would be no leadership role available. Akela was soon getting his Beta position if the male would finish one of his first trades. He doubted that the man would ever find a new love, so this female would be at loss. They were also not a hotel. "I already got that from your howl," he pointed out to the lady before him. The collar was still a point he disliked around her neck. He had no other wolf carry it before.

"We are not a hotel, we seek loyal members ones that also might show promise to join the Dark Brotherhood," he pointed out, on his shoulder was the red paw print that showed that the alpha was a Dark Brother himself. Black Feather wanted active and loyal members. They could use them well. Especially with the new pups coming and their first spiderlings going to the adult ranks in only a few days. "I am also not sure about that collar around your neck," he added, he was not going to hide that fact. "Why do you have it."
Burke and Meldresi are certainly a power couple

Lucky for Burke, Adelina wasn't interested in leadership, yet. However she had rose from the ashes and created a pack once, she had faith she could do it again. He spoke about not being a hotel and wanting loyal members, ones showing interest in this Dark Brotherhood. "Trust me, if I wanted a hotel I would not have stopped here." This place certainly wasn't the most luxurious in the world and if she was going to get a hotel she would make sure she pampered. However it was the mention of the Dark Brotherhood that caught her attention most.

Her own members would come to her with information about a brotherhood, one with assassins and spies. She had always seen the brotherhood as a threat to her pack, but now was a different story. "So the rumors I've heard are true, the Dark Brotherhood exists....how interesting.". Her thoughts about the Broterhood were quickly demolished when the male asked about her collar. The truth was she had no idea what the collar did or why she had it, she just remembers waking up with it one day. "I have it because I'm important. It's been on me for months and it never harmed me or any of my former packmates."  It took some adjusting to but the collar had become apart of her life, so much that she forgot she had it until the male questioned about it.
Haha, thanks, just wait till she is back to being an alpha too ;D

Burke looked at the female and then raised the dots on his brow for a moment. "Some wolves seem to think otherwise," he pointed out, making it clear that it wasn't appreciated. Apparently she had also heard the rumors of their pack, good good. He had also came here, hearing of the dark brotherhood. Burke liked that it was their way of advertising their pack. Those ravens did a good job spreading the rumors and tales of the dark pack. And now after all this time he had even become the alpha of this rumored pack. He loved it.

"Yes, the brotherhood lives here," he confirmed not saying anything more about it because it was this female who had to talk her way into the pack if she wanted to stay. He would be their alpha and if she wasn't going to accept or respect that then that wasn't his fault. "Don't get full of yourself," he returned, not believing it. "It might not have harmed the others but I don't trust it. Can't you get someone to bite it off?," he asked. "You look like a dog, a human wolf pet."
She listened on has he spoke, and when an opportunity to convince him to let her join presented itself she didn't allow it to just slip by. "If the Brotherhood truly dwells within this pack than surely you will need someone to record its victories. To pass on information to future generations and to speak of the success and wealth of the mighty guild." She allowed a moment to pass before speaking again, and watched for his expression to determine if what she said made any difference. "I recorded my former pack's ways and would teach it to the young, but they are no more. Perhaps this skill could be of use to you now" and with that it fell silent as she waited for the male's reaction. She gave the information needed and no more, she had never been fond of speeches and would rather speak as little of her former pack as possible.

A cool autumn breeze blew by shifting her furs and entangling them in each other. It wasn't often she was below others but that would be one of the many consequences she would face after failing her pack. She needed a new home and this was the first pack she had encountered, which is practically the only reason she was attempting to join. However she would put forth effort and would do her best to rise in the ranks if she gained acceptance. The alpha's statement of looking like a pet caused a bit of a stir in the woman. "I am no pet" she corrected him through an annoyed voice but pushed the ill-mannered words that stirred in her head away not wanting to speak out of line and upset her possible future alpha. "You may have someone try and bite it off, but everything you do I will have already attempted. It's not like I enjoy having a collar around my neck you know."
Burke looked at her, they could use someone like that, but they could also have a few new dark brotherhood members. Some where in training with some of the apprentices so close to completing. It made it think of Ayana and how she was dealing at RHC, of course the alpha didn't know that Ayana wasn't even at RHC. Burke was going to meet her but she didn't show up, he had told her that if she couldn't come she shouldn't. Hopefully she was okay and doing fine. "We could use someone who does that," he pointed out. "We have some young that could be taught the ways of Mephala. Are you familiar with the night mother and the dread father?," he asked.

The alpha shrugged lightly, from what he had seen on his travels was it that dogs were usually human trained and they had also a thing like that around their neck. He couldn't help to make that association. "Well that collar is a downside. I don't need to have other packs to think that we have some dog amongst our ranks." Burke killed one of those weird dogs to become a dark brother. The male then cleared his throat. "Anyways. If that is your only downside I think it isn't the worst. Anything else I should know about? Where are you from? Why are you here looking to join?"
The edges of the wolfess's mouth began to pull upward, the beginning of a smile. She was glad the male seemed pleased with what she had to offer, though this night mother and dread father he spoke of were not familiar to her. She had only heard rumors of the Brotherhood's existence not who or what they worshiped. Her smile quickly drooped back down to her regular, dull, emotionless expression followed by the shaking of her head which indicated she did not know who they were. "Unfortunately I do not know who you speak of, though I am most willing to learn."

She was prepared to do what was needed of her, and was quite looking forward to learning about this Brotherhood. She had always taught her young the same old thing, however now she had an opportunity to teach a different topic. When the alpha mentioned young, she became tense though quickly relaxed. Adelina was never one to like children other than her own. If a female had become pregnant in her pack she would give them a choice. Stay in the pack and sacrifice your children, or leave and attempt to raise them on your own. She would never allow her subordinates to become concerned about taking care of pups other than her own.

Adelina dug her claws into the ground, messing with the dirt as the alpha voiced his concern about not wanting his pack to think he had accepted a dog into his ranks, though he did seem to accept the collar. He asked where she was from and why she wanted to join, questions she had no problem answering. "I was from a pack some miles from here that was called Gator Marsh. They were attacked and I could not find any survivors. I want to forget about my past and focus on the future, and that is why I wish to join your ranks." Simple but the truth.
Burke nodded slowly, always very calm in his demeanor. Sometimes too calm. Sometimes he had his angry moments but that was only after a while of agitation or disobedience. He thought of himself as a rather fair alpha, one that didn't mind to kill. "Not to worry, we have quite a few wolves that could fill you in. If you want to be in the brotherhood it is expected that you worship Mephala and Sithis, the night mother and dread father," he explained, giving her a brief intro. Mephala was the goddess of sex, deceit and murder after all. Burke's calm pale eyes were always studying the other. Ever since the fiasco with Misty Burke didn't want to accept any wolf in their ranks. Besides this female would be lucky if she joined because then their ranks would be stretched to their limits. Burke was not going to accept anyone. He knew the risks of a big pack.

The female didn't look pleased at the mention of other pups, well, that was her problem to deal with. Burke wanted to inform her that he and Meldresi were expecting their last litter but she was still a stranger and such information was of no use to a stranger until she would actually join their ranks. Burke slowly nodded as she started to explain where she was from. "Pack tragedies, always a good way to start a new life. So, I guess you are alright. You have the work spirit and you seem to want to learn our culture. Only that collar-thing is hideous, but I guess you can't do much about that." Burke had his own pack tragedies when he came here to learn about this culture. He wanted to learn Meldresi's ways, and now she was his mate. Oh how fun things could turn out to be. It made him smile a little bit for a very brief moment. Meldresi did that to him. "So what do I call our newest recruit?," he asked, realizing he hadn't introduced himself either. "You can call me Burke," he added.
All appeared well and the conversation continued to go smoothly with him explaining how there were some wolves within the pack that could inform her on Mephala and Sithis. "Great, I look forward to learning as much as I can about the Brotherhood and hope to prove my use to you." The way the male had spoke made it seem she had been accepted and so she too spoke as if she was accepted. Adelina was interested to see how large this pack was, and how this male led his subordinates. There was a possibility to learn something from the male, which may or may not prove useful in the future.

The alpha didn't seem to notice or care about her sudden reaction to pups which she was quite thankful for. He still seemed weary of the collar though but like him there wasn't much she could do about it. It was apart of her life now and if female had grown accustomed to it she had faith her future pack-mates could too. "Pleasure to meet you Burke" she said with simple bow of her head. "I am Adelina Leonte" she introduced herself with her full name. Her name held no power on these lands, but it still meant so much to the female.
Burke nodded, liking how the female portrayed herself. Hopefully it wasn't a fake side of her. Burke would find that out soon enough and then he had the power to do something about it. The male was pleased for now. "I would advise you to go to Meldresi or my daughter Potema. Rather the latter than the first since the first is currently very much pregnant and does not want to be disturbed," he pointed out. Meldresi had only a few weeks left to go and Burke was rather excited. The dark male didn't point out that Potema was technically his step daughter. All information for later. He saw her as his own, he raised her after all.

Burke nodded in return. "Oh great. Now we have an Abelinda and an Adelina," he spoke. "Excuses if I mess up your name, they are rather similar you see," he spoke, lightly joking. He was already less stoic. Burke could be fun. "She recently joined too," he explained. "Follow me. Welcome to Black Feather," he spoke then and walked back inside the territory, expecting the female to follow. In the meanwhile he gave her some tips about where to go and where not to go. Some places in the territory were rather dangerous after all.

I will archive, give your rank and EXP after your reply! :3 Welcome!
Thanks! Looking forward to being in Blackfeather

Adelina quietly listened on as he spoke of two wolves who she could go to, to learn about the Brotherhood. He told her of one being pregnant and once again the female became tense. Not only did they already have young within the pack but more would be joining soon. Knowing she would have to suck it up, the wolfess wouldn't make a big deal out of it and actually would have congratulated the male of she would have know Meldresi was his mate. "I will make it appoint to see your daughter as soon as possible then."

With time the female hoped she would get to know each and every pack-mate she had, and would eventually become a trusted member. She smiled when the male joked about messing her own and another new member's name up, but beside that didn't make to much of a deal out of it. With really nothing else to say she thanked the male for accepting her and followed closely by while he led her deeper within the territory. Eventually the two went their separate ways and she settled down to rest before beginning the hard work that would be expected of her from now on.
