@Jace @Echo @Inari + @Rain @Nishu Inte (even tho i know you two are out and about i thought you'd wanna know about this from an ooc standpoint at least) -- i wanted to go ahead and get this started

Night came. The skies were clear and deeply dark thanks to a sliver of a moon. A chill began to settle now that the lingering humidity of the day had gone away finally, so she moved freely through the shadows. After conversing with Charon, she had needed a brief interlude to organize her thoughts. She had taken the time she had needed then, once ready, headed to a small clearing in the mountainside. It was one that was midway in elevation and easy enough to get to from several other vantage points. This she knew well. Her understanding of the Sunspire was absolute.

Settling there, she drew a deep breath and howled. Her distinct (and underused) voice traveled well through the early night. She summoned the the few wolves that still stayed loyal to her and her mountain. With this news she planned to share, she would test that bond.
Jace heard the howl and with a soft chuff he turned and followed it. He would be glad to hear of Amekaze. He had been living on the outskirts of the pack for some time now. Conversing with no one, he regretted that. However he couldn't help his baser nature was to hide and stay quiet. He missed his sister and he missed his parents. He was tired, but he was getting better or at least he hoped.

He stepped into her view and dipped his head. Hello Ame Then he settled to his haunches.
Echo heard a chilling howl from the alpha of her pack. She had been eating a rabbit that had unfortunately come to her temporary home which was a dark cave which she had called The Rubystone Cave since the stone in the cave had a slight red color that she couldn't figure out the cause of.

She got up and licked herself clean like a mate would do, but she just got the blood off of herself. She sneezed and walked at a rather fast pace to where she heard the howl. She saw a wolf that she didn't know sitting down by Amekaze. She sighed quietly and walked forward out of the shadows. Her head felt heavy on her skinny body that she just could not seem to get any fat on. Another wolf could see her ribs quite easily. Her head bowed to the alpha and sat down in front of her.
She felt an uncharacteristic rush of impatience, and had to will it away. There was no rush; this mountain was still hospitable but she was... eager to try something new? She supposed that was the case. Especially when the vague feeling of discontent had weighed her down so much.

Jace answered and not long after, Echo did too. The latter of which looked thin, Amekaze's brow furrowed and she licked her lips, unsure of the depths of her struggle. Her tail waved to the both of them and she swept her eyes between the two of them, readying herself. She waited a little while longer to see Inari, but he did not show -- his scent had grown thin, anyway, so this was little surprise. Plus, Rain and Nishu were still unaccounted for.. "I have been thinking," she prefaced with, and kept her expression serious. "An opportunity has come up, and I feel it is in our best interest to look further into it.."

She shifted subtly and prepared to elaborate. "Things are scarce here, we are hardly anything, especially with Rain and Nishu out who-knows-where and our morale.. on the low side." She gestured between the three of them. It was obvious. "With the coming winter in mind, we have the chance to combine our numbers with another small group -- Stavanger Bay, actually, and better our odds to survive comfortably in a new location." She watched them both, waiting for objections, questions or agreement. Ame wanted them to come along with her, too, since much of this was still in the pack's best thinking -- even so, it was sudden and a situation full of unknown.

If something like this had been presented to her, she would undoubtedly be wary but she did want them to understand that it was for the best. They were wasting away slowly here, she feared. She loved the Spire, truly, but had come to recognize the matter.. maybe it was time to move on.
Jace splayed one ear back and one forward as she spoke listening raptly. He tilted his head and felt his breath catch, but what if Vienna didn't know where to find him? He took a deep stuttering breath, realizing he needed to stop worrying about that. She had found him before she could find him again, right? And he wasn't even sure if she was coming back now. He looked around the mountain, taking in their home and realized it hadn't felt like home in a long time. Not since Ferdie left, not for him and probably not for Ame. So maybe another fresh start was what they needed. It wouldn't be so hurried and with danger nipping at their heels.

Where would it be closer to the ground? And I agree that we need a different something, but do you know much of these wolves? I am just curious what we are getting into?
Echo's head seemed to move on its own. It tilted to the right like a puppy that was confused with what its parents had just said. A pack merge? She didn't mind at all with combining the two packs, but had they thought everything? Like the name? All the little things crossed her mind. A small smile crossed her face. Would this mean more wolves to talk to? Her mind was like a pup and it was jumping around with excitement.

She listened to Jace's questions and agreed with what he had to say. He was right, what about all that stuff? Echo looked over at Amekaze with interest. Had she thought this all through?
No objections, it seemed. Echo was quiet but attentive and Jace brought questions. This she actually welcomed. She wanted to toss this idea around some and hear another perspective to give he more to think about. "After here, I plan to go scouting to see where we could potentially go. There is a stretch of territories south of Ouroboros Spine I want to look into first.." she explained. "And along the way I also want to search for trace of Rain or Nishu." Amekaze wanted to cover many miles, basically. "We could all go, possibly.." If they were ready for that. She still had a lot to hash out, first and nothing was certain -- they could spend a while searching for a proper place to settle. But, was it even worth it to leave two wolves on an entire mountainside?

"I know some, but that is also a plan of mine to go meet more of them for myself before I know for certain this is a good choice. They are a small group as well, and their beta has been the one to push this into motion." Amekaze was also interested in hearing Thistle's reception of the idea, as it would rely on her as their current alpha what happened entirely. But the way Charon spoke of them all, they shouldn't be resistant to change and the ambitious yearling may have more pull on the wolves than she realized. She still wanted to meet them soon to make her own first impressions. "Nothing is set in stone yet, which is why I wanted to tell you before I headed onto the next step. There is still much to do and my only timeline is to see us situated before winter comes," she explained, glancing between Echo and Jace. In her opinion, they had ample time to get it figured out. "I just worry that if we stay here without any growth, as it has been for moons now, we will fade to nothing." she frowned.
Jace listened taking in her words. He wanted ot offer his assistance, but that would leave the mountain unguarded, however if they were moving did it really matter. I fear though that may leave our mountain unguarded. But if we are leaving does that really matter now? I will go along. Rain and Nishu, he was trying to remember them.

Jace frowned, I don't know if I like that we haven't spoken to the alpha. Are we certain she will be receptive? Jace didn't agree with the other wolf saying his pack would agree. He would have never even mentioned that until he had talked to Ame. Not ever, perhaps he himself was a dying breed. It was possible, duty and loyalty were important to him.
*posts out of order because keeping meeting moving excuse*
"Exactly," she replied to Jace about leaving the mountain unguarded. "We do not have much to guard, and few come near here anyway.." she reasoned with a frown. While she knew absolutely that it was not a wise chance to bank on it being true, they did not really have much to lose here. "Although I understand if you wish to stay until more is.. settled," she added. It was an option she knew he could handle if he wished it, but frankly, she would rather have him and Echo both out with her -- even if it seemed a bit selfish to think of it like that. She was asking them to just pack up and go away from their comfortable home, without a lot of prefacing to boot. Amekaze understood. But, she did not press that matter, for it seemed Jace agreed to go along -- for whatever it was worth. She hoped Echo would as well, since Amekaze was less keen to leave her here by her lonesome.

Then, back on Jace's words of sound concern. "No, not certain, and that is why it is not absolute, yet. A lot of it will depend on many things fitting right into place, and I will only do what I think is in our best interest," she explained, shifting her weight. She too was anxious about how the Bay alpha may receive this, along with the other wolves. Charon's ambition was clear, though, and she wondered if he would proceed without her full approval. She just hoped the wolves still loyal to her would understand that she intended to strategize this fully. While it was certainly out of nowhere, she was proceeding only where she saw benefit for them.

There was a continued volley of questions and answered, but her mind was made up. They were informed, given their choices, and Amekaze would proceed to the next step soon afterward. She was eager to explore and set her sights on something new when everything seemed so stale here. It was for the best and she wanted her scant few loyalists to understand it and see it firsthand.
