All welcome, Hunting thread for Desna. Preferably a PHX member! :3

The young female was very keen on starting to catch her own meals. She was trying to practice her stalking by sneaking up on her mother or siblings. Lately she was getting more eager to head out on her own. This forest was nothing like where they lived before. She was often found in one of the clearings. Her mother settled there as a mini rendevouz site. Desna found it weird to see that there were no walls surrounding them if she looked up. Still, the fearless little female wasn't so bothered if it felt safer or not. Desna thought about her sister and how terrified she had been in the woods.

Desna decided her mommy would have to watch Sesi today since she wanted to catch some food. The plump female was rather obsessed with food. Her nose was close to the ground, trying to find a trail that might lead her too an animal she could eat. She wasn't sure if the same animals would live here, she would have to find out. After a good while wondering she found a group of rabbits. Her tail as wagging excitedly. Now she would need to catch them! Of course the bunnies were too fast for the plump pup but Desna didn't know that yet. She charged at them, making them scatter in each direction. With a disappointed sigh the girl plopped down on her butt.
Ash trotted through the trees memorizing her way around the territory. Something she needed to do if she planned to stick around. Which she would so long as the wolves here didn't give her a reason to leave. After she figured the forest out she would be sure to attempt to introduce herself to some of the wolves that called this place home.

Ash paused for a moment catching a glimpse of a young black wolf in the corner of her eyes. A pup? She tilted her head curiously. Whose? Saena? Wouldn't it have to have been Saena unless the pup belonged to a wolf who joined the pack from outside? She shrugged and watched as the young female was stalking some rabbits. She smiled as the pup seemed intent on catching one but as the fae launched herself towards the group of rabbits they scattered themselves in all directions. Poor thing. Ashka thought as she trotted over to greet the pup.

"Nice try," Ashka said. "Next time I would try and get closer since they can be quite fast. As you probably know now," Ash said awkwardly not quite sure the words to say. She had never been one for giving advice since she needed help of her own. However, she was using her own experience to try to aid the youngster. Although it probably wasn't working.

"When they are in groups like that its best to target the ones the furthest away, or at least wait for one to seperate themselves from the group. Rather than trying to attack them all at once and having them dart like little ninjas out of reach," she chuckled slightly but gave the youth a warm smile. Realizing the pup didn't know who she was she quickly introduced herself. "The names Ashka, " she stated with a nod.
Desna turned around when she suddenly heard a voice. She didn't look scared, she turned to face the wolf that spoken to her. Desna's hazel eyes looked up into the adults. She was more of an orange red wolf. Like.. the autumn colors. The young and plump girl stepped closer and tipped her head a bit. She didn't know, well her mother learned her how to stalk but the charge was still a mystery for Desna. "Show me," she spoke in return, on a bit of a bossy tone. Just was just eager to learn.

She nodded shortly, so she had to wait longer to catch the rabbits? That was some good advise. "I'm Desna," she returned. "Scarlett is my mommy," she added not sure if that had some added effect tor not. First her mommy was a higher ranked wolf but here that didn't seem like it. "I wanna hunt! I want food," Desna was very food orientated after all. Later a bit of her plump body would be worked off with her hunting but she would still love her food.
The young wolf appeared to be very hungry despite already looking as if she had eaten prey larger than herself. She supposed pups tend to be very food oriented anyways so she shrugged it off as just a 'pup thing'. She hadn't much experience with young wolves but her she was with this yougster who had just asked her to show her how to hunt. "Well, I'm no excellent teacher and all but i'll try my best," she said giving the fae a warm smile as she glanced around. The young fae announced that her name was Desna and her mother was Scarlett. A wolf Ashka had yet to meet. "It's nice to meet you Desna," she stated locating one of the scattered rabbits.

"So you aspire to be a hunter like me and the white alpha hm," she mused. Padding closer to the rabbit. "Watch and learn young one,"she stated hoping that her hunting skills wouldn't fail her now. She lay down near the cover of a tree and watch the rabbit munching on some leaves.

"Make sure you stay downwind from the rabbit, they aren't stupid enough to recognize they are being hunted if they can smell you coming," Ash said eyeing the rabbit. The rabbit took a small leap and then proceeded back to eating. At this point Ash had determined it was a fairly safe bet the furry thing would stay put so she crawled a few steps forward. Careful not to snap any twigs.

Ashka took a moment to glance back at the small black wolf and gave a smile and a small nod indicating she would go now. Before leaping into a run after the now very startled rabbit. Ashka's long legs and agility allowed for her to navigate around one of the trees and quickly bound on top of the bunny immediately going for the neck. She held the prey in her mouth until she felt sure that it wasn't going to resurrect itself and run off. Before bringing it back over to the black wolf and sitting down.

Ashka placed the rabbit at her paws and then looked to the pup. "Now, do you want to try again or do you want this one?" she said nosing at the small rabbit. Ashka was hungry but smaller mouths were fed first. If this pup didn't want to hunt her own this time Ash would gladly give her catch to Desna. There were plenty more rabbits in the forest.

Perhaps Ash could put this as one of her hunt threads to. I don't know yet though.
You could!

Desna nodded softly and watched how the other worked her magic. She tried to pay close attention to the female as she did with her mommy. Still it was really though when you wanted to do it yourself. She knew about the wind already but she stayed quiet, that was what her was learned when she watched he mommy hunt. The female might talk to explain but that didn't mean that an answer was expected. She just nodded but didn't comment on it further. The also knew the crawling technique already. It was just her inexperience that was doing the trick. She didn't know when to go for it yet.

Desna watched the female come back with a rabbit between her jaws. A grunt came from her with a soft scowl. She wanted to catch a rabbit. "I want myself." Desna was done with having adults hunt for her. But her hunting herself was not going to provide enough that would make her able to survive. Desna looked at the field before them. No rabbit was there now. Instantly her face moved into a sulking glare. "You chased them all off," she protested. She felt like she needed to search again if she wanted to try to hunt. She didn't realize that she could wait again.
She nodded as the pup stated she wished to catch her own. "Suit yourself," Ash said digging a hole to bury the rabbit for later as it seemed she would have to help the black youngster find new prey. She gave Desna an unamused glance as she had no fear in making sure Ashka was aware she had in fact scared off the other rabbits.

"You can't have everything. Its hard not to scare off the other ones when you are focused on chasing one," she said a hint of annoyance in her tone. "Patience Desna. I'm sure if we walked a little bit you would find one of them hiding. That's assuming you still want my company or help," she stated returning to stand in front of the young fae. "So what do you want to do?" she asked calmly waiting patiently for her reply. She shouldn't really be taking orders from a pup but she was trying to help and was willing to continue doing so if the pup was willing to have a little patience while we went to find some new prey.

Apologize for its length but ya
No worries about the length at all! <3

Desna noticed that she annoyed the female. Her hazel eyes studied the female and her expressions. How curious. Her mommy never showed those. Wait, she did while they were traveling but it was mixed with her sadness that she expressed lately. Desna bit her tongue for a moment, not liking the fact that her mommy was sad. She would make her happy by showing her that she tried hunting. "Yes I want," she spoke, because she realized too if she was going to catch a rabbit then she would need help. Desna was just a bossy girl so she liked to be asked what they wanted to do that. Ashka did that so Desna was more than pleased about that fact.

She got up to her feet and then moved to the red female. "Okay walk," she spoke in agreement. Her small tail was up and she started to trotted forward, quickly distracted from the rabbit ordeal and running from left to right to sniff everything and let out excited little giggles and howls. She was standing higher on her legs already at four months old. Her fat levels already less than they were as a child. Desna turned to look around if Ashka was still there. She wasn't quick enough to catch a rabbit yet, but Desna didn't know that. "I wanna catch a rabbit for mommy to make her not sad," she stated.
The small wolf stated that she did in fact want her help and Ash was okay with it. She was perfectly willing to help the youngster learn to hunt. The more hunters the better right. She watched as Desna appeared to have picked up on the fact she was slightly annoyed. "Don't mind me, I'm working on patience," she said with a chuckle trying to reassure the young wolf that she hadn't done anything too bad. It was truly just down to the fact that Ashka was impatient. Very.

"Let's go then," she said with a smile and a flick of her tail. She watched as Desna happily began to explore every little thing and she let out happy little yips and howls. The pup made Ashka smile, this pup was living the life.  It brought Ashka back to way before the dreadful night that had been haunting her since she was just a little older than 5 months.  She gave the small black wolf a reassuring look as she checked to see that Ash was still following.

Ashka felt her heart tear a little as the wolf mentioned she wanted to catch a rabbit so that her mother wouldn't be sad anymore. This little wolf was so cute. Ashka hoped that if this pup was able to catch this rabbit her mother would be really proud.

"Just remember, even if you don't manage to catch something. At least you tried. Practice makes perfect. You have to be quite fast to catch a rabbit, if you want I have an idea that might make it a tad easier to catch it," she stated pondering an idea over in her head. It might just work. "You would still be the one to catch it, id just be helping a bit," she said assuring the wolf it would still be her accomplishment and that she could tell her mother it was all her if she really wanted to.

Moohaha. If Desna is willing Ash would love to help her catch a rabbit since Ash sorta suspects that Desna might not be fast enough just yet. Up to you? :P So cute cx I was dying when I read this.
Well Desna did some hunting before where Scarlett let her do the 'final' kill and she was pretty pleased with that XD

Desna trotted forward with her new found friend. She was very quick in deciding who was her friend and who was not. The girl often found that she had more friends than enemies, though here was one wolf she disliked. Hopefully she wouldn't see that wolf ever again. Alas, the girl was now very busy with her hunting. "I am super wolf! I wanna catch!," she chirped, which maybe was a bit too loudly. She really wanted to catch some and eat because she was hungry. Her stomach was growling, which was only because she was letting her mommy rest.

"Mommy had a fight with daddy and now she is really sad, but she pretends, so I pretend I dunt see. So she always gets food for me, so I gets food for her now," she explained. Desna was a very passionate young female that was for sure. The dark little pup moved forward, getting a bit tired. But then her ears caught something. "Coon!!," she let out. She dove to the ground which blended well with her fur if it wasn't covered by orange leaves. Desna spotted a raccoon by the river, washing and walking around in it. I was clearly busy with other things rather than watching for predators.
Ash chuckled at the never ending determination of the young black fae. That was a feature well thought of in a wolf. She was going to make a great pack wolf and a hunter. Ash would make sure of that. "Alright, Alright," she smiled as they began to wander looking for a new source of food.

The youth explained that her mum had had a fight with her dad. Dad...Where was he? Surely he wasn't in this pack as well. She could understand accepting a mother and pups but a mated pair should be leading a pack of their own. The pup continued and said that it had made her mum sad but she acts like shes fine around her pups. It made sense to Ash, any mother would do the same. Her mind briefly shifted to her mother before Ashka quickly shook it off. Now was not the time, or the place.  She gave the young female a sympathetic look. "Then lets make your mother proud," she said with a soft smile.

This wolf had compassion. Something Ash admired in a wolf, but sometimes found herself lacking. That was something she would work on for sure. She trailed behind the black fae letting her lead the way. She was in charge of this hunt. The pup shouted Coon which she was sure stood for Raccoon. Not bad. Not bad. "Hush then, surely you don't want to scare it off," she said quietly.

Ashka quickly devised a plan. "You stay here, stay low and don't move until I give you the signal. I'm going to move around the other side of the raccoon. Once I nod you can go ahead and chase it. I will make sure it doesn't escape," she said as she quickly located the perfect spot behind a tree on the other side of the small river. The river was just wide enough that Ash could jump it a bit further down so the raccoon couldn't here her walk through it.

She trailed through the trees and made a smooth leap across the water. Her paw barely scraping the surface of the water as she landed on the other side. She looked to make sure the raccoon hadn't noticed and saw that it remained in the water not a care in the world. That is one stupid Raccoon. Ash mused as she assumed her position. She had a direct line of site to the young wolf who was still buried in the leaves. She smiled and gave a nod that the fae surely couldnt miss. Ash crouched ready. Lets do this.

Long post for a very important reply :P Apologies it took so long.
Desna nodded in return. Wanting to make her mother proud and instantly settled on not making a sound or giggling. The pup was keen on getting this raccoon for herself but also for her mother. She listened to the female and watched her approach the raccoon from the other side. The dark girl blinked as she jumped so gracefully thinking that she would scare the raccoon. The animal didn't walk away and Desna felt her heart started to thump excitedly. The dark girl instantly charged at the grey animal once she got the sign.

She let out a soft mini howl as she charged in excitement. She couldn't help it. The masked faced critter jumped and started to run, straight for where the other wolf was hiding. Desna let out a squeak once she realized the other was way faster than her! She let out a huff, especially the water made her slow. It came till her chest already. She struggled to the other side, thinking she lost another prey and failed her mother again. Desna was all wet and pouting, trying to see where the other female was as she waited on the bank for her. She wanted to do the killing and now she was just too slow to do any killing. What a bummer!
Ashka watched carefully timing her moves. The black fae excitedly jumped into the water startling the raccoon. It began to run straight in Ash's direction and she grinned launching herself towards the raccoon causing it to freeze in its tracks. It couldn't seem to figure out for a moent where on earth Ash had come from but being as dumb as it wsa it turned and ran back towards the banks where Desna had scrambled out of the water.

"Watch out he's coming back that way," she said on the raccoons heels nipping at its tail to keep it moving in a reasonably straight line. "Try and get it, im going to trip it. It won't be down long but it should be long enough for you to get a grip on its neck," Ashka stated stretching her forepaw just a bit further and standing on the raccoons tail causing it to faceplant.

She hoped that Desna would be able to do this but Ashka remained alert in the chance that it did attempt to make a run for it. She was pretty sure the raccoon had been injured in the fall though as it had let out a yelp of sorts.

-wee-
Desna jumped up once the raccoon came barreling back towards her. The small girl froze from a moment. Oh yeah, hunt it!! Desna pushed herself forwards and then tried to jump the raccoon after it tripped. It made a yelp but it didn't do anything for Desna. The dark girl was excited and tried to grab the neck of the struggling raccoon. Desna had to relocate her grip several times. She was bigger than the raccoon but it was still difficult to pin it down while it was struggling so much!!

Desna growled cutely and then bit down hard, she tasted the blood which automatically made her clamp down even more. Her whole body tense because she didn't want to ruin this. She had to make it. Eventually she felt the raccoon go slack. Desna held it a bit longer just in case before letting go. "I DID IT!," she squeaked excitedly. She did some hunting! She even did the killing and the chasing. wow! She was so cool! Desna was very impressed with herself. "I have to bring this to mommy! Thank you!!!," she spoke as she started tugging on the raccoon. With that she raced off to her mother
