Heading north had seemed like a brilliant idea, even if it meant leaving behind that which was familiar and trudging through miles of foreign territory; the shadows aided her in the early evening hours, usually. It took work to creep unseen across the terrain. Most of the land here was moist wetland, something that Eigma had never encountered as far as she could remember, and the constant soaking of her paws was a great deterrent. But she had caught sight of something through the trees - something large, something new - and the musk of prey warmed her spirit.

She pursued, delving in to the wetlands and through them as best she could. The shape she chased grew more difficult to track as the evening turned to night, so she relented - finding a dry spot to bed for the night, with the full intent of scouring the area in the morning. As she was settling a light rain began to fall, and quickly enough that turned in to a chilly downpour - forcing her out of that presumed dry spot in search of proper shelter.
