A new day, a new sun, clear and blue was the sky and the surface of the earth tainted with reds and oranges, beautiful colors of Autumn. Bella would count the days of each season and keep track of the weather and signals that would help her get an idea of when the next one was coming to be one step ahead of the universe. She knew this far would be mid-autumn judging by the leaves that fell every day more quickly, and she expected to see snow falling no earlier than in forty days time, perhaps later.

For now she enjoyed a sunny day in a row of no less than six days of pure rain. Bella exited her den and stretched out her muscles in a weird flex accompanied by a wide yawn, and when she felt awake enough she stepped into the forest to look for a fresh source of meat. The cahes were getting a bit sour, and Bella didn't expect to get a large animal on her own, so she decided to dig up some rodent. The first hole she found was empty, seemingly evicted by the merciless rain. But soon enough she found trace of an inhabited muskrat burrow on the edges of a stream. Bella quickly made her way in the water and climbed on top of the wooden structure. Her paws started digging and with effort they made a hole wide enough for her paw to get inside, and suddenly it wasn't sunny anymore. Light rain started pouring from above, and grey clouds blocked the sunlight once again. Bella rushed her paw into the hole so that she could take her prey and go somewhere dry quickly. She sank her claws on the first body she found, but it wasn't the furry body she was expecting to find, nor was it warm. It was cold and smooth, and before she could take her paw out of the hole, two sharp, thin and quick fangs sank into her skin, and panic flooded the young female.

Crying in pain, Arabella jerked her paw out of the burrow, and moved away from the stream. Her paw was bleeding through two small holes, it wouldn't stop, and fire started flowing through her veins. She could feel it climbing up her limb. The sylph howled for help, and in a mess of cries and screams she tried to run towards Harlyn's den. But as soon as her paw landed on the floor, a burning pain shot through her and she dropped down with a loud yelp. The paw had swelled to twice it's size, and her movility had been considerably reduced. Her blood started pumping harder, and Bella got even more agitated. She cried and screamed in pain, and then the cries became sobs, and the sobs slowly grew weaker. The seizures came soon after, and Bella's drooling became frothing. The venom was strong, and quick, and there was nothing Bella could do now to save her own life. No one could.

And no one did.
