it was twilight when shardul finally located a densite suitable for himself and the coyote pup to winter. it was rather removed from the intended core of their wintertime attacks, but there was but one entrance into the cavern, and it housed a rather spectacular forest within. shielded from the blowing snow and ice would the pair be free to plot the child's vengeance upon the wolves who had wronged her from a protected locale, and shardul suspected that prey would flee here to avoid the freezing storms.
light filtered into the protected woodland through crevasses in the rock wall, and the silver cat blinked lazily at them. "we shall settle here," he told the child, before he himself set a slow amble for the perimeter of the forest, searching through the stale scents for the presence of wolves. he had come here and scouted prior to bringing regipre, but one could never be too careful.
