@Asterr

Deep breaths plagued his lungs as they grasped for something shallower. A time when he wasn't always running away or towards something. He never could just be. It would appear that the oh so simple road of living peacefully proved more difficult than he could bare at the moment. What was he doing here? He'd never been the kind of person who liked silence.

 Cruel as it was, his brain was intact, curiously firing at why he was always alone. He loathed the silence, yet was comforted by it. Was he going mad? No, never. Kieran kept a cool head, all the while knowing that internally arguing with ones self did not further a plea of healthy mind. Leaving to muddle in his own weariness and pity. Until the snowflakes stared to fall.

 With nowhere else to go, he'd taken to kicking around the mountains, because they were most like home. If, he supposed, his home was an empty expanse of rocks and shrubbery and crappy little springs, instead of a bustling metropolis of wolves and violence. It was better than nothing, and there was nobody to harass him out here.  For what it was worth; he didn't expect to find much.

He sat idly, staring out at the horizon, disregarding the icy breeze that howled around the cliffside. Just like home. If everyone at home all died at once, anyway. He stood up, a bitter smile crossing his face.  Resting his head against the grating rock, Kieran growled deep in his chest. Roaring thunder broke the trap of his lips and wrested the silence from the air. He felt wiped, as if the world had reached up through him and wrenched his heart out.
Keeping the details of her trip vague since the two threads aren't yet finished

Traveling beyond the threshold of the territory she'd aimed to lay claim to was an interesting thing to do. Her legs had carried her across the range, reaching various other peaks and catching glimpses of the land below from different perspectives. She'd enjoyed her time away, for the most part, however she hadn't traveled any further than Sunspire. Her home had beckoned her by the time she'd reached the gentle slopes of the previously inhabited mountain, and she'd gladly answered the calling. With a quickened pace, her body had moved with a natural grace up and down the inclines of the range, as well as across whatever ridges had presented themselves to her. While the entirety of the Sunspire Mountains remained unfamiliar to her, she'd learned a great deal of how to traverse the rough terrain from her time within the dome.

Asterr had slipped back into the territory late the previous night, but had awaited until sunrise to announce her presence. She'd no intentions of upsetting her followers, after all, which surely would have been the case had she woken them at an ungodly hour. To some, her return might have been known prior to her song, simply because she'd headed directly for the cavern. It was the best place to rest, as far as she knew, and she'd needed some time to relax her muscles after the long hike. In spite of her trek, however, she'd awoken in the morning bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to start off her day. Leo had taken up a good bit of her time, for she'd wished to remain close to the boy and assure he was getting along alright. It'd been awhile since she'd actually spent a decent bit of time with him, and for that she felt bad.

Around the time in which the sun had reached it's highest point in the sky, she'd exited the cavern in order to patrol and leave her scent along the paths that would eventually become borders. It was along the northern side that she'd started at, having to make her way all around until the halfway point was reached. The whole thing took quite some time, leading her into the cover of the night. When the moon started to shine within the sky, attempting to push past the clouds that insisted upon drifting in front of it, she'd been ready to call it a night. That is, however, until an unfamiliar scent was brought to her on the wind. She'd known it to belong to a wolf, and yet another male at that. As always, she was curious, wishing to learn of the stranger's intentions and what had brought them near to the thunderous peak.

The dragon had followed the scent only moments after catching it, her slender form drifting across the paths as if she were nothing more than a shadow. Her eyes seemed to glow, the ounce of moonlight that was able to break through it's unwelcome cover reflecting upon them. There came a growl as she neared the stranger, however she knew it not to have been directed towards her, for she'd yet to even make her presence there known. From a little ways off she'd observed the male, taking in his position and attempting to figure out why he was resting against such a hard surface. Deciding any assumptions made would truly mean nothing if she never spoke with him, she slipped closer to the other, but still kept a safe distance between them. "Hello," the girl greeted, tail hanging behind her in a relaxed state while her ears were pushed forward. "May I ask what has lured you here?"
No pack, no job, no purpose. It didn’t sit right with a wolf brought up to expect some kind of employment when he came of age. Kieran was well into his second year; he had to get somewhere, lest his ancestors nag him from on high about honor or something of the sort.

a voice would make him stop,
he looked up oblivious to the tone instead he would tilt his head in a strange manner and look around. he finally spots a black figure, the outline, but a living being has placed themselves before him."Nothing. I seek purpose." he said his voice was raspy, it had been a long time since he's spoken. it was tainted and coarse, his vocabulary lacking, but no one bothered. he would wait, keeping his dull gaze on the figure.

he is still, even as the woman edges nearer, staring out into the distance. croaking, his voice is smoke lingering in a dim room, cultured and oldworld, just a little unsettling. "Who are you?" turning first to the stranger with nostrils flared and ears flickering. His head lowered in greeting as he gave a brisk shake of his tail.
All I could picture was Mulan and Mushu when I read that part about ancestors... lmao
edit; ending tacked on.

A hoarse voice met her ears, causing them to fall back ever so slightly. It would be the second time she'd met someone with such a voice, but it hadn't sounded quite as bad this time around. It was clear the other did not speak often, but she'd believed for it to have not been quite as long as the masked boy. Upon realizing this, her ears regained their previous position, erect atop her crown and focused in on the male. His answer was troublesome, in a sense, but also interesting. For those that sought a purpose in life, there was no telling what they might do to achieve such a role. However, just the same, it could mean they might take that which is offered to them. Those notes were kept present in her mind as their encounter proceeded to unfold, for she would have to use them if he showed promise. "A purpose can be a truly vexatious thing when seeking to acquire one," she pointed out, words light but able to keep a serious tone to them. One could only imagine what might happen when a mission had settled into their very core.

His dull gaze had reached out to her, and she met it with her own bright one. She observed him further, taking note of his actions before answering his query. "My name is Asterr Draconid," the yearling voiced, her head lowering faintly as she officially greeted the fellow. "May I request your name?" Her body remained in place, though her features revealed she was debating on moving closer. In the end, she'd kept to her original placement, still uncertain of the man and his intentions. "The purpose you seek, what type might it be?" The way she spoke could make someone believe she held all the answers that they were searching for. That, with one word from her mouth, everything would be understood and the meaning to that which is unknown revealed. Whether such would turn out to be true, however, depended heavily upon whomever it was she'd speak with. Currently, there was assistance that she could provide for the stranger, though whether she would do so or not relied solely on him.

There were any number of things in existence that the dragoness had knowledge on, but the male was not one of those things—and it seemed as if he never would be. Rather than remaining to answer her queries, the wolf had seemingly decided to leave. His reasoning for doing so eluded her, and no time was given for her to question him on it. No matter, Asterr did not take any offense from his actions, having instead decided to head off in search of a more familiar face.
