The shadowy wolf tread towards what she hoped could be her home. She had decided to finally settle from her travels.
She stayed a safe distance from the borders, you can never know how territorial wolves could be, and gave a loud howl to the alphas of this pack. Her ears twitched, listening for anyone that was near.
Her fur was very visible against the snow. Her eyes seemed to glow eerily as she awaited for someone to arrive.
Burke blinked as there was another howl at their border. There were a lot of wolves wanting to join their forest lately. It was most definitely becoming winter. The dense forest they lived in had minimal snow on the grounds, but once they reached the swamps or clearings the snow would become deeper. Burke went to the borders, responding to the howl in question. He wasn't expecting much to be honest.

Burke stepped forward from the shadows, at least this female knew how to stay back and show respect to their borders. Burke stepped half through the scent mark he made before, very keen on showing that these woods were his. His docked tail raised up and looking down at her. "What is it?," he asked, clearly not in a good mood.
She looked down in a respective matter as soon as the alpha had arrived. With her tail in-between her legs, she began to speak, "I have come to ask if I could join your pack. I bring with me my past knowledge and could be a possible counsellor, naturalist, and or healer. Though, I can also learn another skill, if it will help the pack." She kept her face neutral, and her voice steady and calm. Months of practicing this had led her to perfect it.
The wolf seemed older than her, maybe twice her age. He seemed to be not in the best mood, which wasn't a good thing for her. She could feel the large wolf's stare pierce her, yet she felt nor showed any fear.
Burke noticed her tail going between her legs, instantly the alpha recognized this as her being scared. The alpha male had no time for weaklings that were scared of him. The female said she wanted to join, and Burke instantly scanned her more throughly. They weren't Black Feather Woods anymore, they were the Dark Brotherhood. One that would hold his tail between its legs wasn't one  fit for the brotherhood. How come that no wolf ever spoke about being loyal at the borders. They were a brotherhood.

He was reminded of the quiet wolf and how she brought a bear cub to their front step, that had been impressive. This female came empty handed. She didn't even mention anything that was most important to them. "We are in no need of a counselor or healer. Plus you didn't mention anything about the values we stand for. This is the Dark Brotherhood's door your knocking on. You probably don't even know about us or where we stand for," Burke stated.
Fixed! (I hope)
Hecate wanted to bite back at his insults. She had not yet gotten fully used to being a lone wolf, one of the lowest wolves. She kept her face calm, showing that the insults did not bother her. She rechecked her pose, letting her tail slowly go to the ground.
She had a couple tricks up her sleeve, and she began. "I might not bring any physical object to prove my worth, but I have the knowledge of a whole pack of wolves, Burke." That might've gotten him off guard. Though, obviously she didn't have the ability to read minds, but she had heard some animals talk about this 'violent pack and their more violent leader, Burke'. So she had put two and two together, and this must've been Burke.
She continued talking, "I am good at deceiving and gaining trust. To your Brotherhood, I bring my knowledge and loyalty. And if this may not be enough, tell me how I must prove myself."
She felt slight guilt, but she didn't know why. Maybe it was because she had left the place of her pack. Maybe it was because she felt as if she had forgotten about her past pack mates. Maybe it wasn't the feeling of guilt at all.
"Ελπίζω να αποδειχθεί μια καλή άλφα.", she whispered to herself silently.

Burke visibly reacted to her using his name. His eyes instantly went straight to her. He even bared his teeth seeing it as quite an offense that the female used his name before he said she could use it. Then on top of that the female started babbling all kinds of nonsense to him. He had never in his six years heard any of those languages and frankly couldn't give a damn what she was babbling about. "You are not very good at gaining my trust," he pointed out. "I don't care for the languages you speak, it is about your actions. You might be verbally knowledgeable but I prefer wolves who do instead of bark," he pointed out to her.

The alpha was clearly not that in impressed by her talk, which was what the latest new wolves were doing wrong. The alpha liked to see what they had to offer instead of them talking how good they were. The male raised one dot on his brow at her. She also did not talk about a few values he found important. Like loyalty, another stepping stone to his trust that no wolf used. "You first talk about deceit, clearly that is the thing you value most in yourself. I do not. Deceit can be learned and loyalty can not," he stated. It was all about presenting yourself towards the alpha and how one responded to his words that made him decide. Maybe Burke was tricking her at the moment. One would never know.
Damn, you are good. Another thread, later?

Well, that was a complete fail, she thought. She had to do what her mother always told her to remember, improvise. She dipped her head down as in an apology, then she said, her voice a little softer, "Fair enough, you are correct, talking will get me nowhere. You want something physical to prove my worth."
As she spoke, her mind was wondering what she should bring. To admit defeat is good, but to try again is even better. "I believe I am not accepted today, and I would not like to waste your time any longer, as you have a pack to tend to, so I will leave now, goodbye."
She didn't leave yet, instead, she waited for his response.
Hahaha, by all means! Do not let Grumpy Burke here stop you! :P

Burke was slightly surprised by her comment. So she could take criticism, others could learn from that, plus she had been respectful. Burke had to give her bonus points for that. Hopefully she would also do some information gaining about their pack. "I didn't say that. You do you," he stated to her. He had nothing of a wolf that was trying to be someone else. He wanted his members to be themselves, hence the dark pack, they could all be their dark self. But he wouldn't stop her from trying to bring something physical.

Burke stood on his border, his square build like a statue. "You are not accepted indeed," he spoke. "Yes, goodbye," he spoke. Normally others were chased away with a growl so for her being able to part without evicting a growl from the male was a bit of a win for her side. Burke did stay at his border until she was out of his sight. He didn't want 'Miss. Deceit' crawling over his borders.
