There were tensions bothering the top wolves in the pack, Eljay could tell. He could tell that Uncle P wasn't feeling very good lately, even though he hadn't said anything of the sort. Eljay hadn't seen him hunt or pop by to give hunting advice as he used to, and there was a general melancholy about him even though Eljay knew that he and Fox were going to have puppies at some point in the future (though the details were lost on Eljay, who knew very little about such things). It was not for the reason of making Uncle P feel better that Eljay visited that day. After all, he didn't even know what was bothering his uncle, so he wouldn't know what to do about it.

Instead, Eljay was carrying some wintery white flowers and a small strip of old meat. Eljay wasn't proud to say that he had still not hunted anything successfully, so he had spared some of the food from his own mouth, that his parents had given him, to bring to his aunt @Fox . Eljay wasn't sure where to look, but he had tracked his aunt's scent back to the rendezvous site where they were often at, hoping that he'd find Fox there.
