@Jhala if you have time :)

There was an unanswered question in his mind, along with doubt and uncertainty. He sought out his beta female, picking up her trail in the snow. Temperatures were rising, and the snow was packy and wet as it started to melt into itself. The approach of spring was, in part, to blame for his intensity, and his urgent need to ensure his home was secure and the pack stable. Thus his pace was brisk, and though his palpable anger was not so much so at this time, there remained an evident stiffness in his steps as he travelled across his territory.
Always (:

The girl was sniffing her way along the border, looking for any signs of danger. RJ had left with a small fight, and she hadn't seen any traces of them since. Good- she thought, if she'd found them lingering she'd tear them to pieces. No reason to make nice with them anymore, and absolutely no reason to lead any of them on through her choppy attempts at seduction. At one point, Taggarik's scent became noticeably close, and she paused along her duties to raise her head. She glanced around for a moment, tail waving, waiting for her alpha to perhaps reveal himself.
He found her soon enough and drew close, coming to stop in front of her without offering his usual warm greeting. The black wolf came with somber purpose, his stance neutral but uninviting. "Why didn't you fight?" Came his quiet question. Jhala, their beta female, should have been one of the first to pick up his attack command, and lead the pack. She was also a demonstrated mercenary, so her balking at the battle greatly confused — and troubled — him.
Jhala almost offered her own usual greeting, but instead lowered herself submissively as soon as she noticed his posture and expression. Oh no. He was angry. She stood stiff a moment under his gaze before she answered him. "I didn't how it would end," she answered honestly. "I didn't think they'd give in so easily. I mean, if it'd ended and I was still in charge of the plan you placed under my control- I'd never get anywhere. If I was gonna make friends with any of them and especially persuade them to our ranks... well there's no way they'd come if I'd attacked," she offered him, hoping he'd at least see where she had come from. She sat silent for a moment before shrugging.

"I wanted to tear their damn heads off, though. They're ignorant assholes." she added, testing out a new phrase she had deemed appropriate in the situation.
His gaze did not wander from her face, nor did his ears turn to catch anything but the words from her tongue. She had a reason, which he did not expect. He expected to hear that in the face of her first fight she had frozen, but instead, it seemed to be a case of poor judgement and understanding. Taggarik inhaled a deep breath, and quietly said, "ok."

He had nothing else to say at the time, and turned away from her to immediately seek the company of his alpha female.

last post. shortest thread ever ;)
is indeed hella short :o

Jhala stood, dumbfounded, for a few moments more. Taggarik left without another word. She didn't know where he went, or where to go now. She knew not to follow him, and certainly not to ask anymore questions- so she just stood. Eventually the girl let out a sigh and continued on with her patrol.
