The female stopped outside the borders, a respectable distance away and contemplated whether or not to howl. This was the first of the wolf packs she had come across after leaving the farm. The land was beautiful, clear streams and fresh air. She had become accustomed to the litter filled area of her childhood home with its stench.

She was unaware as to whether or not any of the wolves within this pack had problems with wolfdogs asking for admittance but if they did she would have to deal. She howled into the air, her voice loud enough to be heard for a mile or so.
Upon hearing a soft howl in the distance, Lyric padded into the direction of the voice. A new recruit? the female thought, interesting.
Coming close to the border, immediately a familiar scent took her back. Wolfdog? But Rain was back in the pack, curiosity beckoned her even further. She then saw greyish black wolfdog standing at the border.
She even had odd coloured eyes just like her daughter.
Approaching her comfortingly, Lyric smiled at her familiarly.
'Hello dear, you're hybrid aren't you? My daughter is too, so don't feel at all bashful. Are you here to join?'
It didn't take long until she was approached by an orange colored she wolf with vibrant green eyes. She dropped into a submissive stance almost immediately, she knew her place.

She was surprised at how warm and motherly the she wolf seemed, seeing as she smiled welcomingly at the girl as she smelled her. She smiled hesitantly back as the older female began to speak.

As it turned out, her daughter was also a wolfdog. This intrigued her, she was eager to meet the other wolfsog. She knew this would only happen if she were accepted though. "I would like to meet her. I'm Teci," she introduced shyly. "I am," she agreed as an afterthought.
Sen had been a decent ways off from the borders when the howl sliced through the silence around her. Her ears had perked up immediately, knowing the voice did not belong to any of their members. Of course, that alone was enough to have her slender frame lurching forward, ears pushed forward as she set herself on a direct course for the borders. The closer she got, the more the wind had shared with her. There were two canines, both female, one being a member of the sanctuary. The other, however, was different. Similar, in some unknown way, but not enough so that she was able to place a face to the fragrance. When she had finally arrived at the border, tail and head raised, it became apparent why she'd found some fiber of familiarity within the unknown scent. It was a hybrid who'd summoned them, just like the child they'd already allowed to live amongst them.

Speaking of which, it seemed as if the mother of the half-dog child had decided to answer the calling of the unknown being. That did not deter the Gorgon woman, though, as she'd walked on forward, crossing the pack's threshold and entering the region of unclaimed land. Thankfully, she'd caught the stranger's name (by a hair), allowing her to avoid having to ask for it. She had not, however, heard Lyric's question, but assumed as much anyways. "I'm guessing you're here to join," she'd stated, watching the stranger. "What skills can you offer us?" Sanctuary or not, she couldn't allow herself to just let anyone in without first hearing what they could provide in return for the pack's protection.
She lowered even further when the She wolf approached. This one was different, she got a vague sense of disapproval from the female. Not as if she didn't like Teci but more like she disapproved of her existence. She was careful not to meet the red eyes of the stoic female.

She fought hard to keep the stutter from her voice, managing somewhat in her task. "I am a h-healer." It was all she had, she could hunt of course but she was more advanced in healing. What wolf couldn't hunt anyways?
OCC:
Dumb account isn't letting me access Lyric for a moment, just pretend this is Lyric,
(NOT RAIN)
as I sort this out.

Seeing her alpha walking towards them, Lyric bowed submissively in respect.
She liked the look of the new wolf, perhaps it would be beneficial to Rain to know a fellow hybrid.
'I think she'd like to meet you too, she's a pup at the moment, and very excitable. So If you get in, be wary or you'll get licked to death.'
She thought a little humour might lighten the mood.
Hearing that she was a healer also interested her, being that the female was once her last pack's theta.
Nico- When you're logged in under Rain's account, something should be beside her name on the post that looks like two arrows circling after one another. If you click that, it'll allow you to change the post author over to Lyric. c: Posting order is Teci → Lyric → Sen

The woman had caught her pack mate's bow in her peripheral, but made no move to acknowledge the gesture. Her focus had to remain upon the stranger, gaze narrowed and cryptic as she looked her over. An ear flicked in Lyric's direction as she spoke, speaking lightly with the outsider. The way her voice sounded made it seem as if the two had known one another for years beyond their lifetimes. Of course, Sen didn't really bother to question that, figuring it was just how the mother was. She had to be, right? Couldn't be, well, like the Gorgon and have a child at the same time—something like that just seemed like a recipe for disaster. Mentally, the observation was shaken off, offering to the potential recruit her full attention once more.

"A healer?" Hm. She couldn't recall any of their current members having knowledge of medicinal herbs, nor could she remember hearing any mention having an interest in learning. The hybrid could be useful, yes, but the serpent wasn't yet done with her. "How experienced are you in treating the injured and sick? How long have you been practicing?" Was anyone in the pack sick or hurt? Someone she could—no, she couldn't do that. She couldn't let some stranger experiment on a pack mate as an entry test, the sanctuary wasn't to be like the keep had been.
She sensed this woman's disapproval spread not only to her but to the mother wolf near her and her child as well. She was not a fan of hybids it was obvious. It was no matter to Teci, she had been disliked since the day she was born. She had faced worse than the red eyed female and was not afraid.

"Since I was a child. I am experienced in the herbs and their properties," she assured truthfully. Were she lying they could always chase her out even kill her later. She wasn't lying however, she had learned from an old wizened husky on the farm who had in turn learned from a wolf in her time in the wild. She was good at what she did and if they didn't want her she didn't need them.
Hearing that she was interested in herbology heavily intrigued the female, as herself was already familiar with such. Lyric took a step forward, addressing the husky mix.
'You say you're experienced in Herbology, If so, perhaps I were to cut myself, what sort of herbs would you use to relieve inflammation?
A: Milk thistle
B:White Willow
C:Angelica root.'

Lyric then waited in anticipation to see if the girl could live up to her word.

Occ: Try not to sneakily look up the answers, take a guess!
Perhaps Sen would have been impressed, and showing it, if she were capable of expressing such an emotion towards strangers. As it presently stood, however, her dull expression did not falter. Her gaze did not soften in even the slightest, nor did her lips twitch in an attempt to display some sort of emotion. She was stoic, as always, unchanging. Alas, her outer demeanor was a terrible display in regards to her innermost thoughts. She was curious, to say the least, wondering just how well the outsider's skills were since she'd been practicing since childhood. Not a moment was given for her to fire another round of questions at Teci, for the young mother had reminded them of her presence there.

The Gorgon's eyes had snapped to her pack mate in an instant, regarding her step forward with a scrutinous gaze. While the question was worthy of being asked, Sen could not look past the movement. She knew the type of wolf Depp was, knew of the vision he had for Seadog, but there were certain aspects of herself that simply couldn't be stomped out. She had needed to bite her tongue, so to speak, and refrain from snapping out some vulgar string of words. It was difficult when the male was not there, as the balance they'd achieved was disrupted and left to tip and tilt in whichever direction. "Give your answer, and we'll go from there," the woman had managed to utter, tearing her eyes away from Lyric. Sen knew not what the true answer was, having never taken an interest in the healing properties of plants, which forced her to rely upon the rusty coloured wolf knowing what she was talking about. It was a problematic situation in her mind.
She did not miss the way the snake like woman's eyes locked on Lyric with an intensity that was the strongest emotion she had yet to see on the woman's face. She nearly winced in sympathy for the orange She wolf.

Soon, her attention was refocused on a question from Lyric. Willow, angelica, or milk thistle. Almost any type of willow could be used as a pain reliever and was well known for its aspirin like qualities. Angelic a however had many uses. It could aid with birth or calm the stomach in a wide variety of uses.

Milk thistle was the way to go for an anti-inflammatory effect. "Milk thistle," she replied quietly but surely. She waited, ears tipped for a response.

I actually have a lot of books on natural meidicine. I live on a reserve and learned herbal medicine but I'm not sure this is 100% correct. Feel free to correct her if I got it wrong :P
Noticing the glare she received from Sen, Lyric realised she screwed up.
'Shit' She thought, the wolf had not meant to annoy Sen in any way, but perhaps the step forward may have portrayed too much dominance than she wanted to. Simply just wanting to address the girl, she had no intention of upstaging her alpha at all. Stepping backwards with her ears pressed against her skull, Lyric switched her attention towards Teci's answer.
'Partially correct, although white willow also relieves the pain caused by the inflammation. Milk thistle is normally used for liver problems, but can help inflammatory pain as well.  You do seem experienced with your knowledge though, I am impressed. '
She then took another step back, allowing Sen to make her judgement.
The step backwards was approved up, albeit silently, by the serpentine woman. She still had to get used to controlling herself, to keeping herself from slipping into her old ways—well, her old ways as a leader. Sen was still very much the same, personality wise, as she'd always been, and that would most likely never change. To be more controlled was something she could sparsely manage, however, just enough so to keep herself from driving out all those she had a personal issue with. The situation was pushed along through the rough patch as the hybrid gave an answer, giving to the Gorgon something else to focus her mind upon.

According to Lyric, the answer was only partially right. It wasn't so wrong as to lead to damage being done to an injured being, but it also wasn't perfect. No matter, it would settle for the time being. "Seeing as you were only partially right, I expect you to put an extra effort into learning more so you don't make that mistake again," the woman had stated. "If you can do that, then I guess I can let you join."
She nodded gratefully, "I will work hard." She felt she had nothing more to say to the woman who disliked her so, as she kept her submissive stance. The she wolf, Sen, had proven to be the least favorite of anyone she had ever met. The woman's distaste for hybrids was apparent in her demeanor no matter how emotionless she seemed.

She showed no outward signs of this however, remaining a respectful tone and posture. She glanced shyly at Lyric, shooting her a small smile at her acceptance. She hasn't missed the interaction between the two females but had no thoughts on it. It was how things worked out here it seemed. Perhaps now she could meet Lyric's daughter, the other hybrid.
Happy to hear that she was accepted, Lyric shot her a reassuring glance.
She was delighted to find that Rain will finally get to meet another hybrid besides herself.
'Would you like me to show you around the area?' She asked, she also just wanted an excuse to talk to her for a while.

Short post is short.
Is this post end? If so, @Teci I'll start up a thread to show you around if you want.

An agreement was met; in return for her acceptance into the pack, the hybrid would work hard to learn more about the various medicinal herbs. And, as difficult as it had been, Sen had stayed true to the vision her co-leader possessed in regards to Seadog. A sanctuary that accepted others no matter of their background and the like, just as long as they never caused unnecessary trouble. Without the male having been there to remind her, she'd nearly gone against such an ideal, but had thankfully managed to rein in her personal opinions at the last possible moment.

The woman was ready to leave and carry out her duties elsewhere, but paused mid-turn when the young mother spoke. An offering to show the newest member around, huh? That gave her an idea. "Lyric," she stated, the calling meant to acquire the other's attention. "Since you seem interested in Teci here, I'm leaving you as being responsible for her." Not only would it give the two a chance to bond, but it also meant the Gorgon wouldn't have to lead the hybrid around and give the grand tour. "My name's Sen, by the way. The other leader here is known as Depp. Remember those names." The words were meant for Teci, of course, as was signaled by a brief glance her way. After that, Sen had taken her leave, heading off towards the heart of the ravine.
She supposed she should be offended, she needed no babysitter. Sen was effectively putting Lyric in charge of her, a grown female. She held her tongue though, perhaps they would find that Teci was not that interesting and thus needed no one to be responsible for her.

She was relieved when the Alpha left, her body obviously relaxing. "I would like that," she smiled warmly at the mother near her. She had a feeling the two would become good friends, seeing as they had something in common.

yeah sure that works :)
