all welcome but aiming for @Aveline since she's new!

Liri paddled around the shallows of the stream, overturning rocks carefully and scanning them for any sign of snails or crawfish. It was a long shot but Liri was worried about Sam, she was determined to find him something to eat even something as small as freshwater snails.

Spotting a fat crawfish as it scuttled across the back of a rock, waving its pinchers up at her, she took a deep breath and slammed her paw down on it. It latched on, causing her to yelp as she ran from the water. She slammed her paw against the ground, killing the crawfish and making it release at the same time.

Liri glanced around the clearing, wondering if anyone has seen that embarassing technique..
Here I am!

The large black woman was meandering around her knew home with curiosity burning hot in her young gaze. Ebony audits pricked in worry as a yelp echoed throughout the barren forest. A yelp of pain. Tail up in alarm, she raced towards the sound, ready to help a packmate in need. However, when she reached the bank, her hazelnut hues caught sight of a female. She seemed perfectly fine, but Aveline could never be too sure. "Are you okay? I hearden you yelp." She asked her, closing the distance between the two.

It was only until she was a couple feet away that she noticed the crawfish at the girl's feet. She eyed it briefly as a flash of hunger wracked her belly. No. She told herself. She would feast once she's earned it, but so far, she's done nothing to earn it. She pulled her eyes from the crawfish to meet the stranger's gaze. "I am Aveline. Vat is you name?" Heat rushed to her ears at the sound of her accent, but it didn't seem to bother most wolves which made her feel better about it.
The large dark female who appeared was the complete opposite of Liri, when she spoke her words were thick with an accent that reminded her of Minna. Faramir is gone now too, so many new recruits. Me and Sam are the only founding subordinates left here.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine. I was just fishing for crawfish..it's kinda a painful process." Liri chuckled in embarassment. "Oh! I'm Liri by the way."

Seeing Aveline's hungry glance at the juicy crustacean, Liri pushed the crawfish aside and headed back for the water. "Hey, you want to fish for some with me?"
Liri was quite talkative, Aveline noted, but she was friendly too. She nodded as Liri offered to hunt with Aveline. "Zat vould great." She told her with a very hungry stomach. She trotted up behind her and gazed into the water. How was a big wolf like her going to do this? Well, she's got to at least try. Barely making a sound -- which surprised even the ebony woman -- Aveline slipped into the water until it lapped at her paws. She peered into the soft waves, focusing her gaze on the shadey spots near clumps of rocks or aquatic plants. That's where most of them seemed to live.

"I have not hunted for fish for a long vile. Forgive me if I am rusty." She told the white girl with a wide smile dancing upon her lips. She turned back to the water, intent on finding a nice, fat cfawfish. It was hard to cencentrate with a growling stomach, but Aveline made do and finally pinpointed her target. It was a small crawfish, meandering slowly around a clump of plants that waved in unison with the water. It would disappear for a split second only to reappear on the other side of the clump. Sure, it was small, but at least it was something.
"Oh that's okay, I'm not very good at it either." Liri smiled back at Aveline, tooth slipping between her lips in a happy grin. She turned back to the water, climbing in and waiting for the stirred up mud to settle before slowly overturning rocks once more.

"There's a lot of little bitty ones so they must be spawning." Her voice was hushed though that was pretty silly-the crawfish couldn't hear her of course. Spotting a few small ones that appeared to be fighting, grabbing each other with their tiny pinchers, Liri once more shoved her paw down on them.

This didn't hurt as much, the two that had latched on rather than darting away were much smaller. It still pinched, Liri hurrying to crush them against a large boulder and balancing them in a depression on the rock. Glancing over, she checked to see if Aveline was having any luck.
Aveline give a light laugh as Liri squashed her crawfish. She turned back to her target and pounced. Her large paw landed upon the little Languste and smashed it immediately, but not before it could poke her paw pad with one of it's pinchers. "Autsch! schlecht kleines Ding !" She scolded the dead crawfish wth amusement before picking up the crushed creature in her jaws and walking to the shore.

She set the tiny cacrass down in her own seprate pile on the bank and turned to go catch some more. No harm in hunting for her new Alphas, right? First, she strolled over to check on Liri's progress. So far, she hasn't caught a third one just yet, but she was sure to catch more. Aveline turned around and padded further into the water in search of more crawfish. Surely more would turn up? She wanted to prove herself not just to Aaron, but to Amara too. She's never met her Alpha female yet, and she wanted to make a good first impression. If she caught another one, she planned to seek out Amara and Aaron to present it too. Sure, it was a small catch, so maybe she would bring them three...
Keeping with realism, would you like to roll dice for the next catch? ^.^
actually rolled favorably so in total she has four

Liri was sure she wouldn't find anymore, that they would be hiding away from the intrusive white paw overturning their homes. But just as she was about to leave with the three she had, Liri spotted another rather large one eating moss off the side of a rock. Liri watched him for a moment, curiously as he grabbed the moss with his pinchers and moved it to his mouth.

Finally Liri seemed to process that that was food, and once more grabbed the crustacean with her paw. It latched on, causing her to whine softly with pain before crushing it as she had its brethren.

Liri could find no more and got out of the water, shaking her white pelt out away from Aveline so as not to spray her. Gathering up her small pile of crawfish, Liri sat to see if Aveline could catch anymore.
okay! Aveline rolled 4, 2, and 1, so she was successful 2 times out of the 3 times she'll attempt in this post. ^.^

Aveline was cheerful and certain she would make it as she slipped back into the water. She found two nice sized crawfish near some rocks and crouched down. She slipped as close as she possibly could without disturbing the creatures and narrowed her eyes so she could focus upon them. Her muscles bunched and in a split second she had crushed two more cawfish. She prought them to the shore and dropped them on her pile, quickly heading back for one more catch of the day. Her last hunt was not as sucessful, ending in her leaving the water empty handed, but the large woman didn't mind. She'd caught three crawfish and two would go to her alphas. What a great hunt for the day?
Liri smiled in encouragment. "Good job, Aveline." Gathering her small pile up, she eyed them in appreciation. It wasn't much but it was something. Liri planned to give them all to her mate, Sam. He was looking very gaunt these days and it worried her.

"Do you have plans on who to give them to?" Liri asked curiously, hoping to talk to the woman a bit before making her way to find the stormy male.
Aveline met up with Liri at their piles, lowering her large head to gather the tiny carcasses in her mouth. She gently grasped them in her jaws as not to crush them any more than she already had in order to kill them. She planned on eating her's later, after she had gifted her alphas with them. Liri asked who she was going to give them too, and Aveline told her. "Aaron and Amara. I vant to build a stronger relationship vith zem, and vat better vay to do it zan doing it over a meal?" She elaborated on her answer. "Vat about you?" She then added around the crawfish, wanting to know her new friend's plans. Maybe she had a mate already? Aaron had mentioned that he paired his members later on, and since she had been here much longer than her, maybe she had already been chosen for a mate? Maybe she was going to bring some of her catch to him?
Liri nodded, it was a good idea. Perhaps bringing the Alphas a bite to eat would earn Aveline some brownie points. "I think I'm gonna give mine to Samuel. He's my mate." Liri answered factually, nodding habitually.

Seeing Aveline gather up her prey, Liri began to do the same. "It was nice to meet you, Aveline. I hope we become friends. I'm gonna go find Sam before these get yucky from the sun." Liri scooped the crawfish up in her jaws, giving Aveline one last smile before departing into the woods.
Aveline gave her friend a nod as she spoke of her mate Samuel. So she did have a mate! Part of her wanted to explode with questions about what it felt like to have a mate and if it changed her life or just added to it. However, the other part of her told her to keep quiet and save those questions. She would find out soon enough and was very excited for that... but also nervous. "Bye Liri." She told her before the pale woman disappeared into the woods. Aveline turned into the oppisite direction with her delicate load on board. She had no idea where her alphas' den was or if they were even there, so she would search out the whole territory until she found them.
