All welcome, but perhaps @Avannon? :)

It was the dead of night, but beautiful. The dark sky was exactly how Noctura liked it: full entirely of great silver stars and a moon whose light slanted all the way in through gaps in the cavern roof. Being a stargazer, Noctura knew all the best places to see the night's sky in all its glory, and tonight sat high on a dry hillock and watched the heavens before he decided to follow a particularly brazen ray of starlight. Getting to his paws, the great black wolf slowly followed the stream of silver through the forest.
The ghostly female's pelt was lit up as the starlight hit her, her body darting between trees as she tracked a scent. She could've sworn she had scented a rabbit. The female's blue eyes looked up to glance at the sky and she drew in her breath, pausing suddenly as the beauty of the sky stunned her. Deciding that she could go fishing later, she simply rolled over, her eyes still gazing at the moonlit sky. The golden light of the stars reflected in her gaze and she stared thoughtfully. Her ears swiveled as pawsteps began to be heard and she rolled back over, spotting a fellow packmate "Noctura, hello" she called her tail thumping against the ground a few times. She had heard of the male, but never seen him and she supposed now was as good of a time as any "beautiful night" she commented softly. Where she came from, the stars were dull. In fact, nothing compared to the stars out tonight. She sighed softly and relaxed closing her eyes and for once, just allowing the silence and the sound of crickets to surround her.
As with any ray of light here in this rational world, it ran out with no great drama or display of beauty, but Noctura deemed it meaningful nonetheless. For there lay a snow white female in the starlight — another newcomer here in Ryūjin. They were growing strong.

A beautiful night indeed, he said, giving a brief nod upwards to imply he spoke of that glorious sky. Then he returned his eyes to the girl and asked simply: who are you?
Avannon's eyes widened for a moment and she smiled sheepishly "oh dear..how rude of me. My name is Avannon." she replied sitting up straight her head held proudly though the proper humility shone in her eyes "i Joined Ryujin not too long ago" she said. "it is nice to have a proper home finally.." she added quietly her blue eyes darting around the dark forest, the only light being the moon. "it is nice meeting you finally." she said dipping her head for a moment before raising it once again to look at the stars "such a clear sky. sometimes i like to look at the stars while i think about life. Other times i try to find answers within myself while i watch them. Stars bring a feeling of peace to me" she babbled her voice somewhat distant as if she was in thought.
He did not think her rude for not opening with an introduction, for it seemed she'd heard of him through some wolf or other — not a great surprise, for he'd been with Ryūjin since the beginning. In fact, maybe Noctura himself had been a little impolite with his question, though he did not mean it that way. He was not very socialised — a natural recluse.

"Stars bring a feeling of peace to me". He nodded, able to relate. And me. He gazed up at them, seeking out the star he'd found shining upon this Avannon. What answers have you found in them?
Avannon sighed softly "i wanted a home..somewhere i could feel safe, and like i belonged. It was more than want..it was longing, yearning even. It seemed there was a path of stars brighter than the rest, urging me on with their twinkling. I followed them here. The stars help me when i need them most, not when i ask trivial questions." she said with a small smile curving on her lips "i dont ask what am i to do today?Or does so and so love me? i ask questions that i desperately need answers to." she said. She wondered briefly if she sounded like she wasn't all there, but shrugged it off. If she did sound crazy, then so be it.
Noctura, who was stoic and serious at the best of times, was certainly not about to laugh at Avannon's conversations with the stars. On the contrary, he was a stargazer who took this as read.

I believe you.

He looked up at them, bright and prevailing. Sometimes their responses come in the form of a feeling, nothing more. I recall, at times, I've sought questions in the stars and almost immediately the answer sprang to mind as if I'd known it all along.
Avannon nodded "i tend to think that the stars lead me in the path i need to go. Sometimes when i feel blind and lost, even if it is daytimes, i gaze up at the sky for a while and then i know. I know where to go, and what to do. Sometimes i feel like it is my brain playing tricks on me, holding the information in until I look for answers elsewhere, and then presto! The answer appears. I'd rather think that the stars are an oracle of sorts, for life needs soem magic no matter what form it comes in." she said and adjusted her weight subtly.
Such was Avannon's expressive nature and the extent to which she gave herself to the stars, she reminded him of the Cancer constellation and much associated with it. He regarded her, curious about this link, but was distracted by something she then said. Oracle... what is an oracle? he asked with interest.
Avannon's eyes widened and she smiled "where i come from, there is a legend of a wolf called the Oracle. He had some sort of power from the creator of wolves, and could answer any question given to him. The answers were usually more of a riddle. He also gave prophecies. prophecies are a long poem or riddle, that foretells an even in the future. They usually have both good and bad foretellings." she explained feeling a bit happy at being able to share the beliefs of her family. She had never really believed most of what they told her, all except for the oracle. "i feel that maybe when Oracle died, his soul was scattered across the stars" she whispered her body relaxing completely.
No, he was mistaken... Avannon wasn't of the Cancer constellation, for there was some pause to get through before her emotions were clear. She expressed her heart, but not without discretion.

Noctura noticed that she seemed happier as she spoke of her faith, and he listened with interest, his thoughts on constellations momentarily put aside. That may help explain why stars at times seem prophetic, he murmured. Then he paused again. What is this 'Creator of Wolves'?
Avannon gave him a lopsided grin and began to explain "the creator of wolves...how do i explain this...There were two of them, one male and one female, where they came from nobody knows really. They were the first wolves to walk this world. They had powers that are now unknown to us. They were born of one soul, the male of the light part, the female of the dark. They fought relentlessly at first, but soon they fell deeply in love, and the female was soon ladened with pups. She gave an exceptionally large litter, 12 pups in total, but she died giving birth. Those twelve wolves were not gifted with powers, but each had an exceptional leadership quality within them. They each started a pack, and their packs grew. the rest of the legend grows dim in my mind, but those twelve offspring are our ancestors, and their parents were my parent's gods." she said, finally drawing in a breath after the long speech. She glanced at him in an amused way " its hard to understand completely, even i dont know what my religion shall be, as i dont fully believe that legend.."
Although she spoke of faith and prophetic devotion, Avannon seemed pointedly amused, and Noctura watched her silently for a while to try and figure out why. At last, as her story came to an end, he realised that it was because she didn't take it very seriously. The stars themselves, on the other hand, she seemed to accept into her heart without question.

It's certainly... curious, he admitted, and then paused. I wonder why the male God is 'light' and the female 'dark'.
Avannon nodded "me as well. I have never been able to guess." she replied stretching her legs out a bit. Her blue eyes  gazed at Noctura for a few silent moments before she responded "you seem curious about my kin's religion. what do you believe in Noctura?" she asked curiously, her eyes never leaving his face, though she had the urge to remove them, incase he would be offended. somehow she didnt think he would be though, there seemed no need for such dramatic submission like her old pack. This was almost heavenly, they were more of a family than she had thought. Everyone respected everyone here, and so far, everyone was kind as well.
He nodded once, lightly, when she observed that he was curious about religion. He was curious about all things magic, imagined or otherwise. Truthfully, imagination and faith itself were pointedly magic in and of themselves.

The stars, he replied, though he also believed in dragons... this belief being too personal and quiet to share so freely. If you believe they're prophetic, perhaps you also believe in something called fate?
Avannon studied him for a moment seeing that he kept something hidden. she didnt mind, and actually understood. Not everything was meant to be shared. Fate? "yes indeed. I know what it is, and believe in it, but i cant quite put it into words. how about destiny? Everyone has a purpose, a destiny, but some never find it" she said feeling an ache within herself. She had yet to know what her destiny was.
Noctura certainly believed in purpose, and in some ways he was also a fatalist. Destiny was a tempting concept, but he was not sure where to apply it. Did it really hold up to scrutiny...?

He was about to share these thoughts with Avannon when something caught his eye. He looked to the northeast. There in the clear navy-black sky: a shooting star. Silver, swift and brilliant.
"i've heard people say you can wish on those stars, the one's that shoot across the sky." Avannon murmured as the golden light flicked across her gaze. Her frame moved slightly to keep in sight for as long as possible "But why wish for something that might not come true? i tend not to get my hopes up very often. I suppose if i could wish for one thing...maybe love, or maybe i would wish for food to be plentiful once again so the pack can thrive" she said her eyes watching as the shooting star passed out of sight. "or maybe i would wish for wisdom. wisdom of things others cant possibly know..." Avannon sighed. She felt a bit sad all of a sudden, memories briefly flickering across her consciousness.
The shooting star moved him. And it really did seem like fate in that moment, but Noctura could be convinced otherwise.

Wisdom, he murmured by way of vague agreement, and returned his gaze down to Avannon only once the light had faded. Yes. He paused. All this talk of fate, destiny, faith, wishes, even religion: it seems almost as if you would believe it all if only it were clear to you, organised and laid out before you like a map.
Avannon smiled sheepishly and ducked her head "yes..it is hard for me to believe that which cannot be proven" she admitted, blue eyes flicking to the sky once again hoping to see the shooting star once more before it disappeared. The young female sighed the sad feeling leaving her mind and soul, and being replaced by peace "but isnt that the point of faith? To believe fully in something which cannot be proved, to believe because the reward is great, or because it brings our minds peace to believe someone is watching over us?" she asked enjoying the deep conversation. She liked being able to think, and talk about her beliefs and such without being judged or being called a blasphemor.
Finishing some threads off, thank you for this one! :) Feel free to reply then archive or just archive~

Noctura could not help but smile slightly at Avannon's enthusiasm, and to this added a nod of agreement. Yes, he said as they looked to the heavens and pondered fate. I think you're right.

He paused thoughtfully. We can't see it tonight, but you remind me of Deneb Algedi, the brightest star in the Capricorn constellation. They say it shines for destiny, but will hesitate if the way is unclear. Like Deneb Algedi, you're open-minded but keen for every belief to prove itself.

He regarded her thoughtfully. And then: I'd better be on my way. It was nice speaking with you, Avannon.
