Backdated to June 02 because I'm awful at keeping up with dates, lmao. Your eyes are finally opening, and you can hear, @Chusi!
Minor PP of Sao just kind of... being there, heh.

They were growing fast, her daughters. Such a small amount of time had passed since she'd pushed them out through her birth canal, and yet, already could she see a change in the way they appeared. It was strange to her, really, and she found herself thinking back to her own mother more often than ever before. Had she and her siblings grown at such a rapid rate? Had her mother noticed the changes, just as she currently did with her own children? Never would she be able to ask her—which bit ass, but what could you do?—but she liked to think that she was doing just as well of a job. After all, both of them were still alive and vocal, so surely that meant that she was getting it right. Well, even if she wasn't, it was too late to change her parenting methods now. The way in which she spoke to and managed the pair was something she felt comfortable with, and so to change it now would, perhaps, only make her dislike them all over again.

Sen had been napping within her den, body curled loosely around the girls, when she'd been woken by a sharp kick to her side. The culprit was, surprisingly, Sao, yet the reasoning behind her action was unknown. No matter, the woman was left unable to go back to sleep after that, and so she'd stretched out on her side and then pulled herself up a wee bit. After propping herself up, her bright gaze drifted to her side, looking the children over and making sure that they were both there. "You two need to get bigger already," she'd murmured absentmindedly, for she'd decided that it was necessary for them to grow larger before she could drag them out into the world. Soon, though, perhaps she would be able to.
Her dream was as black and quiet as the world outside of her other dimension was, only this one was perhaps more peaceful. At least in her dream, she wasn't replaced every so often and did not have to deal with unknown stuff. Nor did the thing next to her, and yes, she figured it was alive, trouble her as much in that world. Normally, she awoke in the real world without anything- no sound, no sight, only the rhythmic breathing of the thingymedingy. The world was finally beginning to make just a little bit of sense.

But all that changed this morning. As she crawled out of her dreaming state, awakened by the movements of the thingymedingy, something happened that she couldn't explain. It were colors, at least she'd refer to it as that later, and as she moved her head- they changed. She blinked, yelping in terror as she did as once again the world was black. Holy cow, what was that? Oh no, she really couldn't deal with this. Her eyes opened again, and she looked around the best she could, taking everything in. It was the thingymedingy, she figured, blurry but still there. She tried to sit up straight to take a better look, but fell to the ground as something popped in her ears.

What in the name of the thingymedingy was happening? Was she dying? Had the poison taken control after all? Had she been strangled by all the sacks they were in? She whined. Blinking as the blurry- weird sounding world became just a little clearer. She could not understand what the sound was trying to tell her, nor did she trust her vision. This was total madness.
The girl had been roused from her sleep, but whether Sen was to blame or not, she neither knew nor cared. The children were hers, after all, and so she could wake them and do whatever whenever it pleased her. Yet, this time it seemed different. There was something off, but she'd not taken notice immediately due to both the darkness of the den and her overall disinterest. Yeah, sure, something seemed different, but they were both alive still, right? That was all that really mattered anymore. Still, she had eventually looked towards Chusi when she'd whined, her own vision cutting through the darkness and focusing in on the child; it was noticed at that point that her eyes were not the only ones opened and seeing the world. It seemed that her children were finally growing, sight being gained and, she assumed, their hearing as well.

"Look at you," the woman murmured, moving her head closer to better inspect the child's face. "Now you'll understand just how bothersome of a creature you are when you cry." Her only real take from the momentous occasion. Sen then drew her tongue over each of their faces, cleaning what of them that she could before focusing back on Chusi. How was she seeing? Could she see well yet? The woman didn't know, for she could not remember the day in which her own eyes had opened. Honestly, she couldn't remember much of her days as a whining whelp, which was probably for the best.
Strange blob-like forms were all she could see, but it still terrified her. There was a big brown one really close to her, but she assumed it was the thingymedingy. She really had to find another name for the thing that fed her and kept her warm, but she really couldn't think of anything that better described it. For now, she was just astonished and afraid of her new abbilities, and she crawled close to her mother as something vibrated the air again.

She whimpered, something that she now could hear for herself, but was somewhat comforted by the thingymedingy's touch. She babbled something, perhaps a prayer to the gods to end her life right now, but it somewhat resembled a faint "bubadokbuma". Maybe the thingymedingy could deal with this, or the darker blob beside her, but she was so done.
Sen had noticed how strange her youngest daughter often acted, but never had she commented on it. It wouldn't do her any good to do so, and she also wasn't even sure if the behavior was abnormal or not. Yet, when the girl moved closer to her rather than exploring her new capabilities, it had proved to be enough. "You need to stop," the woman stated, pushing the child away with her nose. "Get used to the world, get used to what you can see. You're not going to hide away against me for your entire life, do you understand?" Of course, she knew that the younger wolf did not actually understand. Even the smallest of words were most likely incomprehensible for her underdeveloped mind, and though Sen could tolerate that for the time being, there was no denying that she would someday just shove the whelp from the nest.

Wishing to move herself farther from the child's reach, she'd sat up, taking away her access to the warm fur that covered her chest. "You will learn to fend for yourself," said the Gorgon, glaring down at the miniature lupine. However unreasonable it was to currently demand such things, she did not care. Already had the words been spoken, and already did she want them to be made into a reality.
How could her mother think the world was all normal? It was chaos, pure chaos for the little girl. Everything terrified her to the core, and there was nothing the thingymedingy could do to prevent it. The world was strange, unpredictable, and she couldn't deal with this. When she was pushed away, her big blue eyes opened wide, and she quickly stubled back to her mother with a pleading whimper. But alas, an earthquake prevented her from nestling herself into the soft fur. Or it was the thingymedingy moving, she could tell the difference.

She fell back on her spine, and there she rolled for a moment. Her wide blue eyes, that would one day resemble that of her mother, blinked in astonishment. What had happened? She babbled some high-pitched terrified made up words- if you could even call them that- and got onto her little belly again. She would not give up. Her mother had to protect her, no matter what the voice was trying to tell her.

She pulled herself together and stumbled back, this time settling at one of her paws and crawling behind it for cover. She whimpered again, and just hoped this would all be over soon.
Whimpering had come from the child, a sign of fear. Sen, though bothered by it all, had sighed out a breath whilst looking towards the kid. After considering her options, she'd ended up lowering herself back down and pulling the girl close, what little maternal instincts she possessed having kicked in. "You better grow out of this," the woman had muttered, nudging the girl until she was tucked nicely between her forelimbs. "Because if you don't, we're going to have some serious issues." With that, she'd laid her own head down upon the earth, cheek brushing up against Chusi's face every now and again.

Lets wrap this up, since it's older.
Okidoki! I'll archive!

Her little eyes were pressed shut as she awaited to be pushed away again, but the cold action had not come. She was confused as she was dragged over the den floor toward the thingymedingy, settling in between her big soft stones again. She let out a satisfied soft woof that was muffled by both her mother's fur and her own little paw as she scratched an itch on her muzzle. She heard the low sounds her mother was creating and as she lay down her head, little Chusi got a little comfortable. She moved a bit until all her little limbs were in a place she felt fit and then let out a soft puppy sigh. She was done with adventuring for today and got ready to fall asleep.
