ooc: @Denali since the two haven't met quite yet!

Surely she could go and scout, right? Sadie was overlooking the borders, already lifting her nose to smell the air. The land wasn't bad, but Sadie missed the scent of salty air. She missed having the tides lap against her paws as she left hidden messages within the sand. She missed hearing the cries of gulls and the wind blow throough her.

But here was Sadie, stuck on land because she belonged to a land pack. She was plopped on the ground in a sitting position, watching the outside of her land with interest. She wondered if she could go and find a coyote, maybe take its' skull back with her as a treasure. Maybe visit the riptides and try to fish or look for food in the tide pools. Sadie had to do something or else she would die of boredom.
The days had become monotous, mornings blending into nights, nights into mornings, with little to no structure. Or perhaps it was all in his head. Perhaps the wolf-dog had grown so cynical of life that the whole process had become meaningless to him. He had no family, no friends, and a pack that barely saw each other and that didn't really interact when they did. Waste of time.

So he was surprised--almost pleasantly so, though that honeyed emotion did not cut through his morose attitude quite enough--to see a wolf he believed to be Sadie sitting, staring blankly ahead of her. The spunky female looked bored, trapped in ennui, and he padded over to her, thinking he could give her at least a little bit of company, albeit not very great company.

"You're Sadie, right?" he asked without preamble when he approached, sitting down beside her. He lowered his big head in greeting. "Denali," he introduced himself, then fell silent, waiting impassively for her response.
Well, it was about time that brute came by and introduced himself! The pirate turned 'round to see the new guy (somewhat), Denali. He was a lot bigger than she expected, although most things were bigger when compared to herself. He asked about her name, making Sadie firmly nod her head towards him. "That'd be me!" She said in a cheery tone, her accent soaking into her words.

"Denali ye say? Quite a strange name in me own ears" she commented, her smile wide and crooked. "But I'm the foreigner here anyways, so ye name must be normal" she blabbered on, not really caring about how much she spoke.

She stood up to look at hi, her honey gaze looking up and down before settling on his face. "So, how do ye like it here?" She asked, quite curious about his answer.
