@Slancio
On yet another hunting excursion, Darsal was.
Food was always a constant problem, even in the summer, and especially for a newly-forming pack like the Court. Wolves had to hunt, and often. The thing was, they couldn't just go about it hapharzardly; they had to use some sort of strategy about it. Frankly, if you ingored this, you'd usually just end up taking yourself home, empty-mouthed and tail between your legs. Darsal knew this well. Her skills had been founded by her native pack in Boli, but they'd been fine-tuned by the best hunter she'd ever known.
Mako was a brilliant tutor, her thoughts allowed.
If one were at the towering rim of Ocean Breath Plateau at this moment, they would have seen her sturdy, ashen shape heading toward the faltering ridge at which she planned to climb onto the plateau. Above, on the Coast's secluded flatland, was an opportunity she'd spied nearly a year ago when she'd traveled with her former counterpart to the mountain summit directly north of Alpine Lake. From its highest point, she had peered downward through the spring's calm mist to the great mass of flat that Sequoia Coast boasted. Her burnt-orange gaze had caught what few others would have: an opportunity for just a handful of wolves to take down a huge prey animal, like a deer or elk.
The green with already growing back onto the wilds at a quick pace. He noted as he moved out of Ankyra Sound, setting a straight course along the coasts of the ocean, skirting around the edges of another seaside pack. Coming onto the sides of Ravenshook Cliffs, the sight of a wolf in the near distance did not escape him, and he headed towards them with ease, moving past the steep and rocky cliffside in favor of going more inland, where an elevation of earth and stone stood.

He watched the other wolf circle around Ocean's Breath Plateau, reaching the start of the slope. As he neared, he barked out, to alert them of his presence. He had not come here for much, only wishing to exercise his paws a little. But he pondered the chances of coming out with a new friend, assuming the other wolf was not hostile or actually there for a good purpose.
Darsal wasn't trying to go up the face of the cliff xD She was circling around to where she could climb onto it. I'm going to write anyway, but you can choose to edit your post if you want to ^^

Darsal made it atop the Plateau without toil. At this point, she crept along, avoiding the open stretches between the grasses in which she hid herself. Her muted pelt of gray and black did well to deflect attention, unlike a brighter color would have.
She knew of a herd of elk here, in the confined safety of the Plateau's elevation. Long ago, when she'd spotted this area from an aerial view, she'd been awestricken by the ingenuity of these elk. With only one side from which a predator could approach, the animals never had to be uncertain of where an attack would be coming from. There was only one way onto the flattened land, and one way off of it... but that could work both ways.
Ascertaining that she was downwind of the elk, she took refuge in a patch of grasses and studied a harem from afar. The massive animals were strong, minimally affected by the famine because of their herbivorous diet. However, their young from last spring was not yet fully grown, and could be split from the pack, with the help of another wolf.
With that, a bark sounded from the direction of the Cliffs.
ahhh sorry I'll edit my earlier post later

He watched ed shape circle up into the slope, wondering what they were doing. They seemed to be studying something,but nothing Slancio could see at the moment. He moved closer, the bark he had let out earlier rang out into the air alerting the other of his presence. He canted his head wondering what the other had been doing before he had arrived.

He moved closer, until he was at the halfway point of the slope, before spotting what the other wolf had been climbing the slope for. A herd of elk, unnoticable to the common eye beloe and feasting on the soft green grass of the mostly undisturbed slope. There was a benefit to settling or even just passing through here, since there was only one direction of attack that could come from the predators. Inwardly, he marked the herd just to come back and check another day. For now, he wanted to see if the other wolf was hunting, if they would allow him to join them.
