One pale green eye popped open and Bones lifted her head. The creek burbled beside her, pale in the dawn shadows. Smacking her lips loudly, the juvenile hefted herself onto her feet, took a quick drink, then began to pad along the waterway. The sky overhead was still a pale purple, though the eastern horizon was beginning to glow a stonewashed blue as fingers of sunlight crept along the skyline.

The youth ventured away from the creek eventually, deciding to hunt down some grub for breakfast. En route, she paused in a cool patch of shadows and glanced upward at the lightening sky. She noticed the slender sliver of the new moon dangling low in the west. With it fading behind her and the sun rising in front of her, she dropped her nose to the ground and began combing for scents.
Haunter was already gone by the time Fox awoke, but that was the way things usually worked between the two. It really was a pity that the yearling was not of brooding age, or she would have surely been planning out her childrens' names right then and there. Alas, she still had another year left to go, and there was nothing she could do to make the process happen anytime sooner. She would have to live vicariously through Tuwawi and Njal this year, provided they went through with their plans.

Shaking her coat, Fox began trotting away from her den and out into the bright world. The sun had only just come up, but she was convinced it would be a bright and sunny day. It would do good for pack morale, something Fox felt they still desperately needed. She picked up on Bones's scent, and without hesitation, began following it until she was within a few paces of the younger girl. “Bones,” she greeted, moving forward until her nose touched the girl's shoulder in a friendly manner. Fox had not really spoken to her since the cougar incident (at least that she could recall), and she wondered how the youth was holding up.

Lecter was not a social creature in any aspect of the word, and necessary forays from his den for herbs and food left him prickling with apprehension, hackles forming a bloodstained veil of unapproachability to any who laid eyes upon him.

Hunger drew him out this morn; the ageing madman thought that perhaps he would try his paw at fishing, which was not a skill he had ever cultivated. Setting a slow trot for himself, though his limp had lessened considerably, Lecter drew toward to the body of water for which his current home was named, but a vaguely commanding voice drew his attention.

Though it was not directed at him, the Theta bristled nevertheless; that a yearling should command a wolf more than twice her age had never appealed to him, but for Jinx's sake, he followed the foxwolf. Now he veered to avoid his leader and the youngster with whom she convened, hoping belatedly that they would not spot the telltale glow of his pale coat in the gloom.

I was waiting for @Sveinn but I'm going to go ahead and post so this doesn't get outdated too quickly... also, it's supposed to be dawn. :)

She picked up Fox's scent and heard her footfalls moments before the Alpha female actually appeared. Bones grinned at the leader, ducking her head out of respect. "Ahoy, Cap'n Fox," she said softly but enthusiastically. "I was just lookin' for some grub. Wanna—"

Before she could invite Fox to accompany her, something white slipped past them and a foul smell suddenly filled young Bones's nostrils. Her face scrunched and she glanced sideways at the leader and asked quite loudly, "What was that? It smells worse'n a dead fish left to rot in the sun!"
I could not resist the chance to meet two wolfs I have not yet met, Bones and Lecter, I would have left another post alone had I saw this one first,

Ferdie Von Pelt stretched as he came out of his den flicking his tail out behind him, the den was still a tight fit, tighter when Bazi was in there too. The den would need to be dug properly soon.

Just up from him was Fox and another wolf, further still was the ghostly figure he could barely make out. Ferdie shook himself off gritted his teeth a small whine escaped his throat before he could squelch it, his eyes pinched in a wince. The brutes chest must had been damaged by that fall, teach him to rondevu outside pack lands. He opened his yellow eyes licked his lips stoically and shoved the pain from his mind it didn't hurt unless he moved to quick.

Ferdie trotted carefully up toward his alpha and pack-mate, not drawing any closer to the other wolf yet.
Bones was quickly cut off by the smell that was Lecter. “It’s just Lecter,” replied the young leader. “He may smell like death, but he’s a damn good healer.” Fox had no problem in admitting that, considering it was he who had sped along her own recovery from the cougar attack. She did not have to like the medicine man on a personal level, but she could certainly appreciate his talents.

Ferdie approached them next, and Fox blinked at him. He seemed to be fitting in a little bit better now, and for that she was thankful. There was nothing worse than having some weird rift between a wolf and its pack. “Hey, Ferdie,” she greeted amiably. There was a distinct smell of Bazi on him, though Fox thought nothing of it.
“”

He was well aware that no wolf save Jinx cared for the stench that followed him, but bathing to please others was out of the question. At the sound of Fox's voice wreathing his name, the madman paused, smirking somewhat. Perhaps he would amuse himself somewhat.

Drawing out of the shadows, he approached the trio, though not too close. He did not care for a repeated occurrence of vomit in his direction. “ Fox,” the man muttered, dipping his head in grudging respect. She was his leader, having taken charge following Lethe's suicide; Fox was young but cunning.

The others he knew not, and he gazed boldly between the two of them with a mad glitter in his eyes. “ It is a new and pleasing scent I am wearing. Would either of you care for some?” Lecter asked, assuming an expression of seriousness.
Fox answered casually, identifying the stench as belonging to a wolf named Lecter, who evidently knew much about healing. Bones's nose wrinkled and she laughed at the thought of someone who smelled that bad (that filthy) trying to treat wounds. She certainly wasn't the most hygienic individual in the world, yet she'd always assumed that cleanliness and medical treatment were mutually inclusive.

The wolf himself appeared a beat later, looking a bit mad, especially in the eyes. Bones blinked at his joke, then cracked a broad grin. "Oh, oh! Me!" she replied, despite her earlier remark. Although young Bones would not deny that he stunk, she wasn't opposed to it. Rather, she sometimes enjoyed the decidedly canine past-time of rolling in smelly things, as was evidenced by her genuine enthusiasm.

Another male approached and Bones nodded to him and said, "Ahoy!" in salutations. Her pastel green eyes then shifted back to Lecter, waiting for him to show her where and how to obtain this perfume of dead and rotting fish.
Ferdie's throat burned but he tried to convince himself it was due to the males scent. He offered a polite nod, and gave Fox a gentle nudge on the shoulder in greeting as he had seen her do to other wolves but not yet to him. The most physical contact he had with her was the first day when she rubbed against him marking him as her own.

He couldn't help but cough and choke at the young femme's request for the scent; surely the offer had been a joke. A few more coughs later Ferdie stood up straight and cleared his throat offering an embarrassed grin to small gathering "sorry, I was not prepared for that."

He swayed his tail a few times in hopes of his out burst being forgotten. In order to distract the others incase they were thinking his coughing was something other then a reaction to the situation at hand he attempted to carry on further conversation "Ahoy..." Ferdie greeted the new female, testing the word with his slight Canadian accent, it was not a word he had ever spoken before, though he knew it's meaning. "I'm Ferdie Von Pelt, What is your name? he offered, hoping to at least get her name since names were hard to come by in this pack, that and he had little else to offer in the way of conversation,
Fox returned Ferdie's nudge with one of her own. Despite his rough start, it really did seem like he was starting to become one of the pack. She assumed that he had taken a liking (of some sort) to Bazi, and was glad that he seemed to be truly settling in and finding his place among the others. It was interesting how much Fox's opinion of somebody could change in just a few short weeks. Lecter was another prime example. At first, she had despised him, then tolerated his presence, and now she was actually pretty glad to have him around. Without him, who knew how long it would have taken her to recover.

“Lecter,” replied Fox, after the shaman had greeted her. She did not take a step toward him, not wishing to relive their first encounter. Although she had gotten a little more used to his stench, she did not think she would ever be able to cuddle up to him like Jinx could. “Ferdie, this is Bones.” Considering they seemed to be two of the more outgoing wolves of the creek, Fox was surprised they hadn't already met.

It seemed Lecter meant to tease the two, and Fox settled into a sit to watch the entertainment unfold.
“”

Lecter was not normally a wolf given over to jokes, but some wicked mirth had gripped him, and he regarded his audience with a quiet smirk. The young girl engaged him, while the male laughed. Fox herself seemed amused and prepared to watch. The shaman would humour them all before returning to his usual pattern of rough-hewn coldness.

“ You must come closer to receive it,” Lecter murmured softly, watching the girl for a long moment before turning to Ferdie. “ You do not wish for any? It pleases women, obviously,"” he claimed, gathering himself a bit taller as if to inflate his own jest.

And for Fox — Lecter settled himself upon his haunches and began to trace nonsensical symbols into the dirt. “ And I will cast a spell for you, Fox, so that you may fly.” So out of character were his actions that the madman would not have been surprised if he was thought under the influence of some obscure drug.

Bones blinked at the unknown male when he began to snort, a brow raising and a bemused expression twitching her dark lips. He explained himself, which Fox followed up with an introduction. "Ahoy, Ferdie," she repeated good-naturedly, though her attention quickly turned back to the pungent Lecter.

Without hesitation, she sprang to his side. Her nose burned and her eyes watered. She could taste his rotten scent. Young Bones's nose wrinkled, yet she held her ground, waiting for Lecter to share his noxious perfume with her. Once he did, she decided she would seek out a skunk to intimidate.
Ferdie watched Bones and Lecter with great reservation, and he stepped back, almost hiding behind Fox if he could, from over her shoulder he nodded to Bones ”Ah you are Bones, Bazi has told me of your adventures together, I’m glad to put a face to your name,” Ferdie remained standing instead moving to sit down, he wanted to be able to flee at a moments notice. He continued to ramble as he was wont to do when he was nervous his Canadian accent coming out in full force ”Take care of Bazi when I’m not with her Eh’ She’s like a daughter to me and I don’t know what I’d do without her.” Bazi’s scouting trips away from the packlands were going to give this brute ulcers, oh what would he be like with pups of own? at this rate no one would know.

The sky was beginning to lighten a little but even still Ferdie oh so wanted to flee but he also wanted to see what this Lecter could do, Could Fox really fly? He watched the male with a guarded expression, no harm would befall Fox if he could help it. His gaze fell upon Fox's back and despite himself in the situation a small smile curled upon his lips she had a fine pelt and he could see the lines of her muscles below it, He admired her body his eyes roaming from her tail up to her ear tips upon looking over her ears he saw Lecter, forgotten in his reverie and his former reservations took hold once more and he did not move his gaze from the white male again.

Half my post didn't copy and paste
“Please do!” Fox said with mock enthusiasm. She did not believe Lecter would be able to make her fly, but the thought of such a thing was amusing enough that she played along. Besides, it was not often that she got to tease anybody these days, and this was harmless enough.

If Fox had noticed Ferdie's gaze, it is unknown how she would have reacted. With Haunter in her crosshairs for next year, looking at anybody else was difficult, if not out of the question for the yearling. She had grown quite fond of her one-eared friend, despite the fact he could be a bit of a one-man show a lot of the time.
“”

As the girl sprang to his side, Lecter's teeth flashed in a grin. Ferdie was given a long stare, before Bones commanded his attention. “ Ah,” he purred, head turning to wet his shoulder thoroughly, slicking the blood into a painted crimson, before he snaked the length of his body along that of the girl, effectively colouring a long swatch of fur. “ There; now you have a bit of spirit-power,” the shaman murmured, though the shine of his icewater eyes told her to treat what he had given her well.

To Fox, he grinned. “ Close your eyes,” Lecter urged, though perhaps the maniacal gleam upon his features would convince her otherwise. Ferdie did not seem keen upon participation, and so Lecter let him alone — for the present.

Bones watched, fascinated, as Lecter licked the grime on his coat into a disgusting sort of lather, then began to rub himself against her. Meanwhile, she tried to focus on what Ferdie was saying, though she found it difficult. Lecter's movements tickled her, then there was the scent, now stronger than ever in her nose. She'd asked for it but it didn't mean that her stomach didn't suddenly turn, forcing her mouth closed against the spray of vomit that threatened and refusing to breathe.

"Dear god," eventually exploded out of the youth's mouth once she couldn't hold her breath any longer. She was half-choking, half-laughing. Her green eyes teared. "The skunks will fear me, as will the long dead!" Bones crowed bemusedly, wondering if she would ever be able to get rid of the stink. If she tried to bathe, would she pollute the creek and kill off all the fish, she wondered?

Until that day came, if it ever did, Bones felt like some sort of powerful bio-weapon. "Think I'm gonna go give those skunks a fright!" she said to her cohorts, waving her silvery tail at Fox, Lecter and Ferdie (and waving the foul stench everywhere) before springing away to unleash the power of her reek upon the unsuspecting wildlife that called the creek's territory home.
Ferdie could barely stand to stay, especially Bones left, but she did take away some of the over powering stench when she left. Ferdie also didn't want to leave Fox alone with a 'spell' impending, He had seen 'magic' in his life and though he didn't fear it however he didn't like it either it, in his time 'magic' had cause disaster after disaster. Could Lecter use magic he wondered..

Ferdie pressed his nose to Foxs shoulder gently, and stayed close to her side, unwavering in his protective mode. He almost held his breath as he stared at Lecter.
It seemed Bones had gotten her fill of Lecter's nonsense, and the young girl bounded off to go see what havoc she could wreck on other wildlife. Fox approved, wholeheartedly so, and watched with a grin as Bones disappeared into the brush.

As asked (or commanded, rather), Fox closed her eyes and awaited whatever thing Lecter was about to do. In her mind, he was perfectly harmless. He had, after all, been her healer after the cougar attack. She felt Ferdie pressing in close, but her posture remained relaxed to signal that there was no threat to be had. She had been rather apprehensive of Lecter upon first meeting him as well, so she could understand his reservations.
“”

Her crow of the stink garnered a harsh laugh from Lecter, and he watched her dance off rather fondly; she reminded him of some face from memory whose name he was unable to recall. To the two remaining, he bared his teeth behind Fox's closed eyes at Ferdie, mocking his apprehension, and moved to approach the ruddy young leader.

Around her feet, he scratched his impression of wings — it would have appeared so, had she been lying down, and breathed upon her paws. “There,” he muttered, pleasure lighting his mad eyes, “now you should feel lighter, as if you could jump off the nearest cliff and sail into the air.”
Ferdie's flabbergasted wide eyed expression didn't changed as Lecter bared his teeth, his breath did quicken though. His stare turned to the wings on the ground below fox. The mere thought of her jumping off a cliff nearly gave this brute a heart attack though. Ferdie jumped up and stared at Fox But she shouldn't dare try that, flying along the ground is just fine...."

The flabbergasted brute circled in place once then turned his gaze back to Fox. As if to distract her from any thoughts of cliff jumping and to get away from the White Wolf he offered this distraction er.. idea "Fox, how about a race then?"
Last post for me!

Fox was no fool, and she did not believe Lecter's trick would work, anyway. Still, she was happy to let him do whatever harmless thing he was doing (as far as she could tell). “You’ll have to try harder than that if you’re trying to kill me,” she replied, making it clear she did not believe in jumping off of cliffs... no matter how strong the magic. She appreciated the gesture nonetheless, and perhaps a race against Ferdie wasn't such a bad idea.

Springing from her seat, the fireball took off out of sight, shouting a “Catch me if you can!” as she darted away. It was less of a race, and more of a game, but she assumed Ferdie would be up for it. Lecter was probably too old and frail for that kind of thing.
Ferdie Von Pelt grinned like a fool and took off after Fox, Lecter was now the farthest thing from his mind, as he poured more distance between them. He chased after that ruddy colored tail; Finding out that the little vixen could move fast. Opening his stride he poured everything he had into catching her tail and perchance placing a nip upon it

Exit Ferdie
thanks, guys!! <33

“”

Lecter laughed, and his icewater eyes alighted with something akin to fondness upon Fox as she streaked into the gloom of the forest with Ferdie in hot pursuit. Her parting thought was partially true — the shaman was too aged for such rigorous activities, though he had never cared much for racing about like foolish pups.

Turning back toward his den, the shaman sighed with relief; they were gone from the vicinity, and, with any luck, he would not need to entertain anyone else for the remainder of the month.
