Kieran woke in the early morning, the fur on his nape standing up at the nightmares that had invaded his sleep. IT had been some time since faces from his past came to haunt him, and it was with a heavy mind he stood and slid from the den and the sleeping forms of his family. He took a moment to study them in the dim light, to trace each and every one of the babies with loving eyes and to lay a gentle lick to Kaskara's brow. Finally, they were getting some food, finally she was eating more. They all still had a long way to go, and the caches needed filled badly, but it wasn't as terrible as it had been.

It was with the thought of food on his mind that he stepped from the den and placed his nose to the ground. The least he could do was scrounge up some breakfast, especially if he had accidentally woken any of them up. He smiled to himself on the search of the rabbit he smelled. He would be able to teach the babies to hunt soon and it made his heart leap with joy. He briefly wondered if anyone else would join him on the early morning hunt.
