They were roughly nine weeks old and while gaining towards their third month mark Rian took some ...liberties. He promised not to venture too far away from the rendezvous den, that he would stay in sight but there were times — and today was one of those times — in which it just wasn't enough. The short trips away from the den were too short and were just the same old circle. Perhaps they weren't but to the trouble making king prince this was certainly what it felt like. His eyes had begun their transition, star-bursting with shots of startling green in the sea of milky blue — but he had yet to notice this. His drinks from the nearby puddles were never long enough for him to take a good look at his rippling reflection. He always took a few laps to sate his thirst before he was darting off again eager for the adventure and not wanting to miss a second of play or play dominance.

With a toothy grin and a 'i'm about to do something i shouldn't' glimpse over his shoulder he slunk into the underbrush with the intent of exploring on his own, (perhaps wrongly) believing that he was sneaky enough to not get caught or be followed.
Hallo. :D

Normally in a state of perpetual activity, patrolling the borders or training and shadow-boxing to keep himself in trim, Goldhawk was caught in a rare moment of stillness. The bright sunlight made his gold coat look more extraordinary than ever as he sat there, tall and casual, watching quite the spectacle happening in the mid-distance...

But before he could examine it further, he was distracted by the scent of youth. Goldhawk turned towards the bushes to see one of the O'Malley pups padding through the undergrowth. He didn't know what puppy it was, but he was pretty sure it was a boy. Psst, whispered the jovial warrior, slinking low, his tone secretive. Over here.
