AWareness Month! :D

Valette had been traveling for more than a week now, and even though she couldn't say she felt lonely she did feel alone. She had met other wolves on her travels and spoken to three packs already! She was very impressed with herself, yet now having her pack mates to come home to at night was starting to make her feel more alone.

The girl went deeper into Taiga territory. She had caught a small meal for herself, which she had finished before resting up a bit. It was good to rest her tired limbs all through the night before she continued East. It was already late afternoon when she saw a familiar sight. A glacier! Just like they had at the side of the Silvertip Mountain! She let out a soft gasp and trotted more steadily on towards it.

Little did the girl know that this was where her mother had settled when arriving here in Teekon. She didn't know about this location and that it held a pack previously. The girl was amazed how the afternoon lights reflected on the glacier. It looked amazing.
Everfree headed north-east out of the Emberwood with a full belly and a clearer head. She had seen neither hair nor hide of her mother for days and was close to letting herself believe that this time, finally, it would stay that way. She would be free to make her own decisions about the world and its wolves, come what damn well may.

Everfree was covering ground at a jaunty trot when she spotted a dark figure up a head. It seemed to be moving towards the distant glacier with purpose, as if it had business there. Everfree decided to follow. She crouched low, but despite her best efforts to be sneaky, the flatlands offered little protection. All it would take was one breeze or snapping twig to alert the stranger to her presence.
Valette continued to the glacier at a calm trot to preserve her energy. The young female knew that traveling at a fast pace was going to tire her out more quickly. She hoped that there was some local around to explain her about these lands. They seemed ideal to be living especially if a wolf loved the taiga region.

The girl was curiously getting closer unaware that she was being followed by another wolf. This glacier seemed larger than the other. She wasn't sure what to think of it or if she was going to climb it. It would cost her quite some energy. She did like to explore it though. And she reminded herself that she mentally needed to map this. It was next to Larksong. Important information to give Steady. She would have to be descriptive, after all. She stopped to look at it. The big ice plains laid out before her.
Valette was channeling her inner Walking Dead extra, and did not look over her shoulder once. Everfree was able to stalk her to the very edge of the glacier, where the stranger slowed to take in the view and catch her breath. Why was she here? The thick scent of claimed territory was absent from the ground and there was nothing on the wind that suggested the lone wolf up ahead was being followed by anyone else. Effie decided that no harm would come from bringing attention to herself, and stood up to shout: "'ERE, STRANGEWOLF! What'chur lookin' at up there?"
Valette was rather focussed so when someone called out she visibly jumped up and let out a soft squeak. She instantly turned around to see a pale female. Her hazel eyes roamed over her briefly, she didn't seem too unfriendly. Valette didn't blame her for scaring her, after all she had not been alert to notice her.

"Hi. I am a scout. My alpha asked to scout the Taiga region. So here I am! Can you tell something about this glacier perhaps?," she asked. She hoped the female was able to give her some info. Valette didn't know that this place was the place her mother came for refuge. "We have a glacier on the other side of the mountain range too! But it is not as big as this one!," she admitted. "I'm Valette!"
Valette whirled about, startled by the shout. Everfree took the opportunity scuttle closer, sizing the girl up with a critical eye. Female, young-ish, and generally in good health - a little on the lean side, just as Stark had been, which confirmed what he had said about a famine.

Above all else, Valette was friendly. Very friendly. Everfree was somewhat taken aback by her warthm and enthusiasm, and took a little longer than usual to find words. "Urm.. uh.. sure can!" She responded without thinking. What did she about glaciers? Having more than filled her quota of lies for the day, Effie decided to tell the truth. "Actually - I sure can't. Din' even know that there word a'fore you speaked it. Gla-ci-er.." Not 'big ice mountain', then. "What's bein' the point in scoutin'?" She pressed, taking a cautious step forward. If scouting consisted of wandering about and looking at stuff, Everfree's life up until this point had been a scouting mission. "You an' your kind lookin' to claim this here ice too?"
Valette looked so happy when the other told her that she could tell her something about this place. The girl's face fell a bit when the other admitted that she actually didn't know about this area. She pulled back her friendly smile on her face. "That is okay. I know what this is already. I just wanted to know about these lands," she returned.

"Well, my alpha likes to know where other packs are located and what lands lay beyond the mountain range. I am finding this out for him," she explained calmly. "No we are not. I am just being the eyes for my pack, traveling far and wide. If our pack has good connections with other packs it might be useful if we need an alley," she added and smiled. "Do you know the names of these lands?"
