Grace was finding her new homeland enjoyable: it was her first time on this side of the Sunspire mountains, and she was making the most out of her free time. It was rare she was away from Trick, but anyone who knew Grace also knew she had a tendency to wander and explore. She was pretty far, come sunset, having poked her head around the next mountain range, since it was so close to the Caldera. There'd been only one pack to skirt, but there were heavy scents of another as she entered a strange wood. But there were a lot of familiar scents here, despite having never been this far, ones she couldn't quite place. They brought her a bittersweet feeling, but unable to figure it out, the russet yearling moves forward again.

For @Heartha
Heartha left the pack lands again. After talking with Ayla, she needed to learn more. She then could pass it on to Ayla. Teach someone something. At least she would have an aid should anyone be injured or giving birth. A helpful aid was always good to have.

After going her maximum distance, she was ready to turn back. Until she caught sight of someone. "Hello" she greeted after approaching, stopping a short few feet off.
Grace was more worried about trying to remember the scents of the wolves she smelled now than checking for fresh scents. Heartha was already pretty close by the time Grace caught sound of her pawsteps and snapped her golden gaze to the older female. She was stone still for a few moments, waiting for the pale woman to lash out, her tail curled against her good flank and ears splayed out to the sides.
                 "H-Hello."
Heartha right away knew this wolf was timid. She took a step back to make her feel better, less nervous. "I'm friendly, don't worry." Her tail wagged. "Say, do you know any packs nearby who might be able to teach me things on healing?" She didn't ask her, as she thought that she would be nervous to teach.
The pale woman stepped back, seeing her discomfort, and for that Grace was glad. She loosened up, standing slack again and cupping her ears forward in curiousity. The strangers words though were what brought a smile to her face.
"I'm a healer, if you want me to teach you."
Heartha's ears perked up, tail wagging faster. She was in luck, after all. "Really? Well, this is perfect. I thought I would have to go further, and I do not like long distances!" she said with a little laugh at the end. "So, what kind oh herbs do you know?"
The woman grew excited, and Grace smiled. A warm feeling bubbled in her chest, and the yearling wondered if this was how Nova felt when she took her under her wing.
"I know probably anything you'd want to know, I bet: ask away, perhaps? I'm Grace, by the way. Grace Rose of Redhawk Caldera."
Heartha nodded in acknowledgment to the other's name. "Heartha." She sat down to ready herself for the upcoming lesson. "Mainly basics. I only know about birthing herbs, having been a den mother." She was very proud to say that as her title. Her task in her old pack.
All my knowledge is from here, lol: http://wolf-rpg.com/showthread.php?tid=9290

Grace drew closer, limping over and sitting across from Heartha. She was a den mother: the herbs they used were limited at best, and she didn't even know basics. She had a true beginner here, and it made her a little more confident in her own abilities.
"Well, do you know how to clean wounds properly, I assume? Marigold is good to chew up and put onto normal wounds, helps them heal. Wrap it with cobwebs to keep it in place. Blackberry leaves are good for bee stings, Chervil is good for belly aches, and Juniper berries help both belly aches and anxiety."
She rattled off the first few she knew would be helpful, eventually, but paused to see what questions Heartha might have.
Heartha listened to every word spoken, installing it all in the important part of her memory with every other bit of important knowledge, like herbs and medicinal skills. There was Marigold, Blackberry leaves, Chervil and Juniper Berries. She was surprised to hear cobwebs on that list as well. She nodded, signalling for her to go on.
Heartha listened intently, and the realization that she was helping someone-just like Trick had brought her here for- hit her like jumping into a pool of deep water. Cool, refreshing, and something that made her very happy. She really was making a difference.
"Coltsfoot is good for coughs and breathing problems, Lavender is good for shock, anxiety, fevers and coughs."
After another moment, Grace realized that Heartha might not know where to get these things, or what they looked like.
"I suppose the information is moot if you don't know what I'm talking about: Do you know what these herbs all look, or smell like?"
Heartha took in the information like how her stomach took it food. She relayed it back and forth, keeping it from going right through one ear and out the other. And then Grace addressed an excellent point. Heartha had forgotten to ask those sorts of details.

She shook her head. It would be useful if she ever needed to find Lavender or Coltsfoot. Or even some Marigold for wounds, if any of the pack were injured. She had to look after everyone.
Up till now, Heartha had taken in all the information - but, as Grace suspected, she didn't know the look of the plants she was talking about.

The yearling was easy to smile, and scoot closer to the woman so they were side by side. In the dirt before them, Grace used a blunt nail to draw the shapes of each plant. Naming them and telling Heartha how they smelled, where they could be found: it would take a little while, but the russet girl was intent on teaching her new friend the best ways to heal.... Just as Nova had done for her.

Since she's literally on the other side of the mountain from the Court now, they can keep going with lessons if you'd like ;)
Heartha watched the drawings of all the herbs spoken, their smells and other much-needed details. She thought about how Grace would be a great addition, but with all this knowledge she surely had a pack. Heartha assumed that, so made no comment on it.
