Avannon's pawsteps fell silently, as she wandered the borders, occasionally letting her fur brush against some foilage to leave a stronger scent. Her mind raced thinking about how even though she was fairly new, she could tell her home was changing. She herself was changing too. She thought about how she barely knew her fellow tribe mates yet she already would protect them with all her strength. Asterr especially, something about the girl drew her in. She barely knew her leader, and didn't even know how to approach her for a simple chat. And then there was the dark male who had come with Asterr when she returned. She knew where he stood in the tribe, who he was to Asterr and that alone had her respect. She wanted to know @Ukko. For she knew Asterr more than him, and that wasn't much.
Sorry for the delay! Things got a little hectic. <3 This is vague since I’m not sure what’s happening with Tavi.

In order to get some things off his mind, his feet hit the ground in a run. His form, beneath his abnormally thick fur, is thin and built for speed where his outward appearance gives him a look of a brute stronger than he is. It has its advantages but when he needs to run, he’s glad he’s able to make the distance from one side of the territory to the next. He keeps to the borders but his focus remains ahead of him, little use for his peripheral for the time being.

The sight of another does distract him as he rounds a corner, his gait slowing into a trot and his mouth parts, tongue lolling out the side as he pants. His sides heave, winded, and he shifts his weight to let him catch his breath as another approaches. The female had been there the day he’d been brought home but her name escapes him and he bobs his head a few times to acknowledge her. After a few heavy breaths, he picks up his gait once more to close the distance and greet his new pack mate.
Avannon sat down, lowering her head for a few moments to show respect. She allowed him time to catch his breath, her eyes glinting with a friendly sort of amusement. The pale she wolf took in a deep breath, drawing in his scent to familiarize herself with it. She took in his size, and noted that he looked strong, and was a fairly good size. Her heart gave a soft pang, when she thought of noctura, how he had disappeared suddenly, no goodbyes. She dismissed the thoughts and focused once more on the male "Hello, I am Avannon. I joined not too long ago, but i already call this place my home. I wanted to apologize for the off-putting greeting i gave you when you arrived with Asterr, i was not intending to be rude, i was merely startled i suppose. What is your name?" she asked, her words quick and nervous as she admitted she felt guilty, for the way she acted on their first meeting.
The woman speaks and Ukko keeps his ears forward, listening to her long explanation. He didn’t really know what he was getting into the day he came home with Asterr. With the maplewood, he’d been living there and had gotten to know the wolves before being thrust into the leadership. Asterr had given it to him from day one and, so far, he isn’t sure he’s even proven himself. With a shake of the thought, however, he blinks when he realizes she’s asked him a question.

“Ukko,” he says then, ear twitching a little to back track over her words. “I imagine it… wasn’t a pleasant surprise,” he says, knowing he wouldn’t like act in a friendly way if he’d been on their side.
Ukko...what an interesting name. She noticed he seemed a bit deep in thought so she remained silent while he mused. At his words she gave a small laugh "it was pleasant or unpleasant. It was surprising however and as a member of the tribe I wanted to protect Asterr so I was suspicious. Plus I didn't take her for the type to give up the solo life." She said and images of the strong and lithe black female.
When Avannon explains her reaction, he nods, having not realized Asterr had broadcast their relationship. It isn’t exactly a secret but she hadn’t mentioned it when she’d brought him home. Another time, he supposes, but doesn’t question it. [b]“Where are you from?”[b] he asks with a slight tilt of his head as he moves just an inch closer, lowering his rump to the ground with his tail curling around his side.
"I was born far from Teekon. A place called the wanderer's sanctuary. My family started the lone pack in that area. I...I made a foolish mistake, blinded by my infatuation with a male who used my love to gain information. It turned out that he was a spy. He led an attack against my family and pinned me down while his pack killed my family." She said flashes of the memory making her flinch. " I wandered around Teekon for a while before I found Ryūjin" she finished.
When Avannon begins to explain where she’s from, it takes a dark turn he hadn’t expected to hear. For someone he barely knew and that barely knew him, she is free to share information that he would have kept close to himself. Perhaps it happened a long time ago and she had healed, despite the pained expression across her face but he does not question it. He nods instead, frowning and twisting his face into an expression of mild concern as she falls silent. “I am sorry to hear that.”
She nodded, acknowledging his words and sighed "its the past. the scars will heal with time, and maybe someday i'll see them. we never know what comes after death" she said her gaze drifting up to the sky. Her tail twitched slightly as her gaze cleared and her normal expression returned "I know how it feels to be new Ukko. If it isnt too brash to say, if you need someone to talk to other than Asterr, i am here. I am always open to lend a listening ear and maybe a few words of advice" she said her words cautious and respectful, though they had a welcoming and friendly tone.
The woman doesn't have anything else to say, nor does she object to him being in the pack. It is a relief that she doesn't lash out at home, especially when he has taken a leadership position over all the wolves already here. He should have worked his way into the ranks and found his way up but Asterr had wanted something from him and he obliged willingly. "Thank you, Avannon," he says with a small smile and wag of his tail. "I appreciate it. But I should get going. It was nice talking to you."
"same to you Ukko" was her reply, along with a nod of her head and a few swishes of her tail. She watched him leave, relieved from the small chat they had had. Ukko was a good soul, she could tell immediately but the thing she most felt from him was that he felt out of place, unsure. She hoped he would get comfortable soon, for she knew he had taken the place as secondary, next to Asterr. Resuming her job of marking the Borders, she headed back home.
