Mandatory Pack Meeting/Claiming howl! We are official! :D Charley will call to the pack after Aspen joins him.

Charley woke up that morning with a bounce in his step and his one good eye sparkling. Today was the day: The Royal Fire Court was official. It was more than time for their claim to be settled, now that their borders were thick and unmistakable, their caches full, and those who were once strangers were becoming closer and closer. Today had to be the day!
The King of Golden Glade went all the way around the borders that morning, taking his time and scent marking every few lengths. It wasn't until nearly sunhigh that Charley went to @Aspen's boulder, calling out to his wife before the others. He wanted them both to be here, settled on the stone and holding themselves like true royalty when the rest of the wolves came to join them. Only when everyone was here would they sing their hearts out in a message to all those who could hear them: this was Royal Fire Court land!
Aspen blinked a few times as a call echoed off the walls of the tunnel. It was her mate, calling for the pack. Aspen felt a smile crawl across her maw almost immediately. Today was the day their pack would finally become official. All their hard work had paid off and now it was time. Time to call this place our home. Aspen yawned and rose quickly to her feet stretching briefly before beginning to trot happily down the tunnels pausing to stop outside Ayla's den letting out a short bark in the entrance.

Aspen then continued to trot down the tunnels and out into the forest making a bee line for the clearing where Charley lay.

Once arriving she quickly climbed up onto the rock beside him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before looking out through the tree an onto the horizon. This place was finally their home. Everything she could ever dream of was right here. She had a place she could call her own and a mate to share it with. Maybe someday she would have a litter of puppies and expand the pryor brood. Only time would tell. For now she was happy right where she was.

It was barely dawn but the howl would ring out just as the sun crawled over the horizon. Announcing to the world that they were here.
Hooray!!
@Ayla @Shalon @Heartha @Nico @Pritmor you guys can jump in whenever! First round ends August 19th, when I post with Charley and actually do the howling! No posting order, and no posting limit: feel free to greet and mingle with each other! Thanks for helping us get here, guys!

Charley clambered up onto the boulder and settled himself just before Aspen came into view. He barked a happy greeting to her as she joined him, licking her ear before howling to the rest of the pack and summoning them. It was time, and they needed to all be here and talk before ringing out their claim.
"It's time, Aspen, this is it... We are truly a King and Queen after this!"
Turning his head to nuzzle his wife's chest, he wondered when exactly her heat would come. True, they were still an early pack, but Charley was convinced that they were stable enough and ready for a little.
A silver ear twitched as Charley's voice rang sharply through the early morning air. The twitch was soon followed by a sigh as the silver agouti straightened himself, shaking debris from his fur before sinking back onto his haunches once more, green eyes flickering to the distance. Less than a minute later, Nico exhaled sharply and pulled himself up onto his paws, turning his head to groom his ruffled fur as he ran through his options. He guessed that the pack was ready to be claimed, thus making it a ripe opportunity to leave and join Aeronwyn wherever she was, but another part of him protested, saying that this wasn't the right way to depart.

And deep inside, the soldier knew it too. Charley had given him a home and an offer for a better life and while Nico found something better by himself, he knew he owed it to the King of the Court to stay for a bit longer and when the time came to depart, to offer a reasonable explanation. He owed the man that much, at the very least, and the honorable soldier within him knew that it was the right thing to do. Aeronwyn had said as much, and she wasn't exactly best buddies with the Charley.

Nico blinked and shook the troubling thoughts away before padding towards the source of the howl. He soon arrived and upon realising he was the first one there, hid a grin. Instead, the agouti approached respectfully, bowing to the King and Queen before taking a step back, green eyes gleaming with mischievous delight as a roguish smile played on his lips.
Short post

Heartha came to the call. Finally, they could pronouce this place claimed. "My King. My Queen" she said to each leader as she passed them, bowing her head, then settling down somewhere close by. Then she joined in the message.
Shalon turned her head toward the sound of her King. His summons ringing clear through her ear. It is time. She thought to herself and small smile came to her, she was excited although she tried to hide it. She knew this day was fast approaching, and there was no need for such excitment since not much would change. Or would it? She couldn't be sure.

Taking off at at trot to reach the her King. Coming to stand before the boulder she noticed Nico and Heartha had already arrived. "Your Majesties." She bowed deeply, glad to see them both well. After greeting her leaders, she greeted her packmates. "Heartha." Shalon dipped her head to the female, and offered a small smile in greeting, "Nico." She dipped her head once more, although Shalon would find a seat next to Heartha.
Aspen smiled as Charley nuzzled into her chest stating that after today the pair would be the king and queen of the court. She couldn't help the excitement running inside her. After all the hard work it was finally all falling into place.

She sat and waited as the wolves of her pack began to show up one by one, first Nico, then Heartha, and then Shalon and Ayla joined too. Aspen dipped her head to each member as they joined in the clearing. She took one more look at Charley before speaking.

"Charley and I have called you all here for something we have been waiting ages to do. Today is the day the court becomes official, we have been here a while now and our borders are strong and well marked. Let us unite together in a howl, and let the whole world know we are here," Aspen said her smile warm and proud. She tipped her muzzle to the sky and let her song ring out over the territory and beyond.
Sitting proudly next to his wife, Alder watched as his new family filed in. He allowed Aspen to speak first - and he was satisfied with what she had to say. When she's stopped, he added his own few pride-filled words.

"Thank you all for your loyalty and hard work - we couldn't have done it without you."

Joining his song beside Aspen's, the new King of the Court called out warmly across the Glade. This was HIS home, HIS pack, HIS family - they would do amazing here.

"I have one more announcement to make: with the rest of the changes in my life, I've decided to take a new name. One that matches my dearest wife's: Alder Pryor."
Shalon smiled at their two leaders, the King and Queen of the Fire Court. The first of their line. Shalon was filled with pride as Aspen commenced the howl. Bowing deeply to the two royal members, she would life her own muzzel to the sky and let out her howl. Filled with hope and excitement for the future, Shalon couldn't wait to see what migth happen to them all in the coming years.
