Plants were boring. That was her professional opinion after her mother had spent a day of futility attempting to teach her, it had come to nothing. Her sister seemed to enjoy it, but Keoni scoffed at the prospect. Well, figuratively. Her thoughts turned to a different direction- the hunt. She had aquired a taste for flesh, and this was her preferred meal. She had the chance to see her mother bring down a rabbit near their meadow, and she was hooked.

She stalked across the meadow now, a clumsy, loud replica of her mothers own careful stalk. She spied a bird, stalking toward it, the bird noticing her long before she got close. It flew in the foliage above, leaving a disgruntled pup to stare up at it with longing. She wanted to hunt too.
Valette knew about the mother and her young that asked for refuge and had not spend that much time with the new pups yet. She however did know that she had hunted in over time to fill all the hungry mouths. Luckily Adeline could hunt small things better and better and she could help with pack hunts. Though the refugee mother brought three new hungry mouths. Valette didn't mind, seeing it as an opportunity to get her specialties.

When she was trotting to see one of the herds she saw a grey floof trying to hunt. It reminded her of herself and smiled. She let out a soft woof in greeting and trotted up to the pup. She was curious how this little on would react to her. Sure, being in the pack the kid probably knew her scent but they never really met. Perhaps she could give the girl some lessons in tracking.
She whirled around as another approached, one she had yet to meet. Yet she harboured none of the shy tendancies of her sister, and bound forward, greeting the other with an excitable yip and a flurry of tail wags, disappointment forgotten for now.

She crashing into the others forelegs,  bounding backward and looking up excitedly,  wondering whether to instigate a play fight or display her stalking abilities, or perhaps something else completely.
Valette watched how the other greeted her with a puppy like excitement. She couldn't help but smile. The dark girl wagged her tail back and lowered herself with her front legs. She was in a playful bow as the other was dancing around in front of her.

"You want to learn how to hunt?," she asked. Valette had an idea, if she could skin a rabbit she might be able to make the pup jump it and try and catch it while she would be walking. It would be adorable and help her skills for later.
Hunt. she knew what that meant, knew how her mother had taken down that rabbit and how the others brought back other prey. her eyes grew wide as she fixed her gaze on the other and nodded excitedly, tail wagging.she stilled, wondering if she could catch a rabbit as her mother had, or one of the big animals. the ones that they ate little parts of, but never saw the while thing.

her tail wagged harder
It seemed that the pup was very excited. The young female nodded. She was not sure how this young pup would even understand what she was saying. She did know hunt but could she understand full sentences. "Okay try and catch me," she spoke and went through her front paws.

Play was very important to do especially if this girl wanted to be a hunter. The girl wagged her tail back and barked to coach her on. Grab me grab me! Of course Valette was planning to jump away and maybe very lightly swat her paw.
The words were less effective than the obvious physical signs that Valette wanted to play, and with a happy squeal she took off after the woman, trying to bop her nose with a paw but missing most of the time. Finally she lurched forward with a spring of her tiny legs and swatted Valette's muzzle playfully, tail wagging and her excitement obvious.
Valette was pleased to initiated a little play within the pup. Her jumping forward was good for pouncing later and Valette was more than excited to let her learn more and more. Valette let her catch her a few times, after all otherwise there wouldn't be any stimulation for the pup. Then she thought of something else, Hide and Seek. Valette dashed away and then behind a tree. She let out a soft bark for the pup to go and find her. Now it was easy but she could make it more challenging later on.
They played, and then suddenly Valette was gone! The pup whirled, confused, but a soft bark had her spinning in the direction of the sound. She peered I the direction it had come from, noticing after a second the dark fur that stuck out from behind a tree. With an excited squeal she dashed straight for Valete, skidding to her side with an excited grin. She liked this game.
Valette smiled when the pup went to find her. She had to peek around the tree, which was probably why she saw her in the first place. Valette beamed excitedly and gave her a proud lick over her cheek before she dashed away again.

This time she skidded over the small clearing and went to hide behind bushes, she could see through it but she hoped that Keoni couldn't because Valette wanted to use her nose. Hopefully when she was fully out of sight the girl would use her other senses.
Valette dashed away again, and this time Keoni closed her eyes. Surely it would be more fun if she couldn't see where Ette went! But when she whirled around and surveyed the clearing, there were no such obvious indicators to where Valette was hidden. Her brow creased, and after a moment of thought she noticed the scent trail.

Feeling as as if she had just had an Eurika moment, she grinned and set her nose to the ground, following it- than setting off on the wrong trail. But after a few moments of confusion she found again the right trail, and speed right into the bushes, her nose bopping against Valette's side as she laughed happily at her discovery.
Valette watched how the pup was trying to find her way. Clearly her tactic worked and she was pleased to see the young use her nose and track her. Valette tried to stay quiet when she took a few wrong steps. Luckily she did stay quiet because the other corrected herself. It was followed by the pup running towards her through the bushes and bumping in her side. Valette had to laugh too and nudged her with a grin on her face. "Super good!!," she grinned and her lips stayed in a smile. "You are going to be a good tracker!"
At the praise, the pups whole body wiggled with excitement; she was overjoyed. Her eyes shone up at Valette with excitement and adoration, but her cozy den called,  and the promise of a meal and of snuggling with her family. Thus, pleased with the basic hunting tactics the woman had taught her, she gave a final grin and spun, trotting back to the den and slipping in with a beaming smile.
