Evelyn. The name felt different than the way it had during her childhood. As she made her way to @Steady and @Valette's den to check in on everyone, including @Keoni, she thought about the way the name would roll from her mother's tongue and against her skin, imprints of her missteppings marked on her skin for life. And yet still, a sort of liberation came with reclaiming the lash. Evelyn chuffed her presence out as she came across the mouth of the den. She kept the distance between herself and the entryway respectful, as it would remain unless she were to be invited inside. I came to check in, see how everyone is fairing.
Steady was resting inside the den, not really sleeping, however. He had thought on and off of Mirabelle since their discussion. They seemed to have come to a sort of truce, though he still didn't trust her one hundred percent. He had left her well enough alone, to sort of manage herself while he looked on from a distance. So far, it seemed she hadn't stepped out of line.

Her voice outside perked his ears and he lifted his head, his body following a moment later, and he emerged from the den. It seemed she wanted to check on the pups. Well, at least this time she was asking. Keoni, Nikai? Want to come out? he questioned softly before turning his gaze upon Mirabelle. Keoni seems to have recovered from her sickness, and is doing well, he commented. Thankfully, Nikai had blessed them with less worries than his sister had.
Evelyn smiled at Steady, though it was small and hidden behind her bowed head. She whined softly, not due to fear or malbeing, but rather as a sign of submission and comfort in the presence of her alpha. There's something I've been meaning to talk to you about, as well, she admitted, now raising her head so that they were near level, I want to change my name back to Evelyn; my birth name. Mirabelle is a name that was given to me, and I'd like to leave that chapter in my pas. It felt good, being able to speak up once again, but she remained in check, as the scars Steady had left mentally weren't quite as healed.
Her whine of submission was pleasing, to say the least, to the Alpha. She seemed to be realizing her place within the pack, and the more she understood it, the better off she would be. Ezekiel had gone through much of the same turmoil, though Mirabelle had gotten a much harsher punishment for her indiscretions. But, he had to give credit where credit was due. She hadn't so much as stepped a hair out of line, that he was aware of anyways.

Her request was interesting, though he didn't comment on that aspect of it. She said she wanted to leave the past behind, and that would certainly be tested in the near future, though no one could foresee that. He nodded. Very well, Evelyn, he said easily. He wasn't quite sure if the name change would erase the past she wanted to put behind her, but if it made her feel better, then he had no objections.

An ear flicked towards the den, where no one had appeared, and his head soon followed. @Keoni? @Nikai? he called out again. Come out for a moment. He figured it was important that the resident medic check the pups out, though the pups seemed disinclined to remove themselves from the warm den.
