The new BWP is a great excuse for some good ol' fashioned family time, haha.

It was cold. Ridiculously cold. This wasn't "Baby It's Cold Outside" weather, this was @Sorrel Marie and @Kieran Adrien if you do not get over here, so help me— weather. Eden was already on edge because of the pack meeting, but with temperatures dropping to fatal levels, she couldn't risk anymore leniancy. Especially not with the children. They were growing bigger everyday, as were their energy levels, meaning no matter how hard their poor mother tried, they would find a way to escape her grip.

Maybe we can get Heartha to watch them for a bit; we can go scouring for corpses. I'd be willing to bet at least a few bodies have dropped in the cold. Maybe if we're lucky, there'll be big game out there that we can bring back to the cache, she suggested to @Sylvas Streiter. Besides, if they were to be locked up in the den for any longer than a day or two, they would need some extra provisions for just their brood. It was vital that they helped with the rest of the family's needs as well though, especially Heartha's. As the only two mothers left with evergrowing babes, they would need to stick together.
Kieran spotted his mother not too far away and padded up to her. "Maaamaa!" he called, touching his nose to her side. His speech was getting better, but he still had a lot of improvement to do. He gave a little shiver - his fur was not yet very thick so the cold stung his sides and he snuggled up to his mother to perhaps gain a little warmth.

The pup glanced up at her and whined. "Immma huuunnnngrrrrrreeeeeee." he yelped, trying to nudge her side.
Eden sighed and looked down at her son, though his childish gaze made it hard for her not to submit. She was trying to rear them the way her mother had reared her, but it seemed that weaning her children from her teats required a lot more emotional strength than she had left in her. You're hungry, sweetheart? Well, Mama was, too. She looked back at her mate, @Sylvas Streiter, then to her daughter, @Sorrel Marie, before sucking her teeth and lying on her side. C'mon Kieran, one more time. She was being too lenient, she knew, but what else could she do when the caches were running on dust? Soon, if nothing was done, her breasts would be as well.

Idk if you guys have ever seen White Chicks w/ the Wayan brothers, but writing this ending made me think of that lmao
He gaze her pleading eyes and drooped his ears to try and look sad, but they perked right up again when he heard his mother's words.

Kieran watched as his mother lowered herself onto her side, then he bounded over and began to drink the warm milk. It was comforting, as well as filling, so Kieran unknowingly began to doze off, his paws kneading on Edan's side.

No, I haven't xD
She saw Kieran begin to drift off, and gently nudged him awake again. There was a conversation to be had, and it could wait no longer. Assuming her mate had gone to find the family a meal, and Sorrel was somewhere near enough to hear, Eden began her speech. Kieran, Sorrel, you're old enough to understand why you are here now. There are spirits around us called Beings, and they gave you to me so I can love you and raise you as they wish. She smiled and licked at the fur on her son's head before continuing in a sweet, motherly coo, Above them are the gods, many, many gods who watch over us and protect us from harm. We cannot see them, but if you try hard enough, you can feel them all around you. Understand?
Kieran grumbled slightly as his mother nudged him awake, and he looked up at her in confusion. Her words were confusing, too. "Wasssa 'god'?" he asked, with extra emphasis on the d. He'd never heard the word before, and it was like another language to the young pup.

"An' wasssa 'speeeeeret'?"
Well Kieran, Eden began, unfazed by her son's inquiries, you know what love is, right? I love you, your sister, and I love Daddy, too. The gods are like that; they are love. Unconditional love. She took a deep breath and let her smile splay itself across her maw before continuing, And a spirit...a spirit is like a smaller god, I suppose. A spirit can help you feel happy when you feel sad, or help you feel strong when you think you're weak. A spirit can fill your soul when your stomach is empty. Now, Eden wasn't sure if she was being understood and so she huffed and nosed at her heir. Kinda like magic.
Kieran listened to his mothers explaination and nodded, a humerously serious frown on his face. He understood most of what Eden had said, but there were some things he didn't - however he didn't question his mother about them.

Instead the boy nuzzled his mother and gave her a warm smile, along with a wag of his small tail.
It seemed that they'd had enough talk for one day, as Kieran was still a child and Eden knew that he had plenty time to learn. Next, they would have a lesson on French, but for now, it was time to rest. She gave one final lick to the boys head and pushed him closer to her, then laid her own head down against the den floor.
