It had been far too long since she'd seen her newest toy, so Kalika thought. She'd brought him to the shores not so that he might congregate with her Sisters, but so that he would wish to meet with her. An intense sorrow swelled in her heart as she sat alone at the base of a cracked stone, though she continued to hum a hymn under her breath. Perhaps Gabe would be close enough to recognize her song and he would come to Kalika with a furious desire which matched her own. Or, he would be just like the others; too stupid to see the gift on his head.

Gabe was still exploring the coast, but not roaming too far from his new, so called home. The only reason he'd decided to stay here was because of Kalika. Kalika's sisters had seemed quite brutal, and he wasn't too fond of them. They didn't seem too fond of him either. Akantha just scared him, and Hemithea well she scared him too, but also he had nagged after her for a while so she had even more reason not to like him. He sometimes thought of Aoife, the girl he'd met back at the grove full of 'tree rocks.' He wondered if he'd ever see her again.

For now another wolf was on him mind.

The arctic furred male happened to be in area when he heard a voice, humming on the wind. At first the dummy thought it just to be the breeze off the trees. But as it got closer, he recognized it to be his siren Kalika. With a wag of his tail, he followed his ears until he saw her, sitting at the base of a cracked rock. He smiled, glad to see her after so long. You have a great voice. He complimented in a friendly tone, prancing playfully over to where she sat.
Kalika gasped audibly upon hearing her consort's voice, then turned to him with an excited greeting — Gabe! — as she approached with her tail swaying happily behind her. Have you been avoiding me? she inquired with mock disappointment and a pout written on the yearling's face. However, she couldn't hold character for long enough to keep a large, innocent smile from erupting on her maw. Have you met my Sisters? She sat back on her haunches with her tail wagging happily behind her and her ears cupped forward. How she wished to attack her consort with such adoration and need! Though Kalika was smart, and she knew if any prying eyes happened to be nearby, showing such affection for a male could earn her a hefty punishment.
Kalika turned towards him with such enthusiasm, it rubbed off on him quickly. Gabe's tail began to wag like mad, flopping all over the place like a fish out of water. It really had been too long since he'd seen her. When she asked if he'd been avoiding her, Gabe shook his head. No! Course not, I've just been exploring. He explained, but he stopped feeling bad when Kalika's pout turned to a smile again. She asked if he'd met her sisters, and he nodded with a forced smile. I did. They're, eh... He said trying to think up something nice to say about Akantha and Hemithea. It was kind of hard.

They're aggressive! But in a- good way. He said with a smile hoping he could sell it. Then, cupping his ears forwards and cocking his head he added. I'm sure I'll like them just as much as I like you, eventually. At least almost as much.
Oh, so you like me then? Kalika taunted the boy in a teasing manner, a suggestive smile blooming. She wondered for a moment if he knew his role in the pack, and figured she would tell him, though not in a way as explicit as Akantha or Meteora might have. You know, my Sisters can't see us together. It could get us both into some trouble. I'm not sure if you know how this pack works or not, but... Kalika began searching for the proper words to use in this situation, for she knew that something like this could easily send Gabe away. If Akantha were to see this, what's happening right now, it could get pretty intense. The women here don't have much tolerance for males.
Gabe smiled, Course I like you! Why else d'ya think I stayed here. He said, her taunts only drawing him in further. The boy was innocent to they ways of Kalika's sisters. He knew that they weren't the most friendly, but he had no idea of his role in the pack. All he knew was that he liked Kalika, and that she'd offered him a home. He'd never had a true home before, the Vanucci's weren't a settled pack, more of a giant traveling family. And he'd even been kicked out of that. Home had always sounded so nice, and Gabe wanted it desperately.

Kalika's next words confused the boy. What was that supposed to mean? Hopefully nothing too bad. Why not? I'm a likable guy. He added playfully, he had no idea how serious Kalika's was being. He just assumed that she was teasing him some more, or something of the sort.
Kalika smiled out of both pity and adoration for Gabe; he really wasn't turning out to be the brightest bulb in the box. No, no, I know you are. You're very likeable. But men... How could she phrase this properly? Well, here, men are known as consorts. Your sole purpose is to serve the pack and when the time comes, to possibly sire a litter. Otherwise, there isn't much to be said. She cringed back a bit, waiting for his response, as she knew it could go in various directions. Finally giving in to temptation, Kalika moved forward and nuzzled Gabe's shoulder, whispering to him, But I know that you're more than that.
Gabe's brows narrowed as Kalika spoke, about men being consorts, used only to serve and sire litters. It sounded kind of... slavish. The boy didn't mind helping out, but he liked his freedom. Plus he didn't like to be treated like trash, that wouldn't go over well with him in the long run. His golden eyes darkened a bit as he went over what she said in his head. He looked away for a moment, almost feeling betrayed. How could she tell him that this would be his home, only to have him be a 'consort'. Was this what normal packs were? Where everyone had a specific role to play?

His thoughtful and stoical gaze shifted back to Kalika as she neared him. She nuzzled into his shoulder, whispering her smooth honey words into his ear. She was almost reason enough to stay and obey these packs laws, but still he was no fool. He didn't know what to do. Do you really even like me? As a friend or more? Or am I just a boy toy to you? He stated in a rather bland tone. At the moment he wasn't feeling as playful or light hearted as usual. His darker side shadowed his amber eyes.
Now this was quite the predicament. Did Kalika like Gabe? Well, not really. Rather, Kalika liked sex and she knew that if she played her cards right, Gabe could provide. However, he didn't need to know that; all he needed to know was that he had a viable reason to stay. Of course I like you, Gabe. Why would I have invited you here if I didn't? On her face was a much more believeable look of sorrow and betrayal, as though his questions had truly hurt her (which they didn't, but that wasn't necessary to share). I like you a lot, actually. I'm not like my Sisters, but I thought you knew that. She backed away from him and sat a few yards away, back turned and tail still. If she was gonna pull this off, Kalika knew that she would really have to sell it.
Gabe felt instantly bad when she turned away, as if hurt by what he'd said. Perhaps his second judgement was a miss, but he had genuinely thought it. His tail dropped, he trotted to Kalika's side, pressing his side against her affectionately. Look, I didn't mean to hurt you're feelings. It just is kind of hard for me to trust people, and I want to be able to trust you. If I can trust you, then I'll stay with you. If you're lying, well then I'll just leave. He said, stating it as he felt it.
Yikes. This was one of the only times during which Kalika actually felt guilty for telling her lies. Not necessarily guilty enough to stop, but guilty nonetheless. Of course you can trust me. She nudged him back, shoulder to shoulder, and looked up at him with her pearly blues to solidify her innocence. For a one barely older than a year, Kalika knew how to play 'em like no other. I want you here. With me.
Of course you can trust me. Kalika said, and Gabe looked at her his narrowed gaze scanning her for some sign that she was lying. But she seemed to truthful, so honest and true. Though he still had a strange taste in his mouth, and a tug in his gut, he gave in and believed her, his cold crystalline eyes burned with life once again. Then I'll stay. With you. He said in a quiet and sweet voice. He was fond of her, and he wanted to trust her so badly. But there was still that small voice in his mind, telling him that pursuing this girl would only lead to trouble.

He then stood, walked from her side and shook his fluffy white pelt of sand that had blown on the wind. So what do you ocean women do for fun? He asked, his tone playful once again.
Fade out?

Oh, joyous day! Kalika's dearest would be staying with them, meaning her time to play with the boy would not be cut short as she once feared. I have a long list of things I enjoy, she purred, nudging him once again, though I can think of a few things which we can do together. Kalika winked at Gabe with a flirtatious tone about her words, the urges of her youth tugging at the seams. She looked him over, then stood to back away, her tail swaying high with each step so as to urge him forward.
Kalika's whispers sent a shiver up the boy's spine, and at her last few words he swallowed down his excitement. His heart thumping in his chest he stood quickly, turning to face her as she began to walk away. He watched as she turned to look at him, his eyes wide. Gabe, what have you gotten yourself into now. He thought, before bounding after her to walk closest by her side.
