Vaati was fascinated by shadows. It was this that had gotten him into his current predicament. Not that the two month old really considered being away from his mother and siblings to be a predicament, exactly. It was more or less a simple situation, one that would soon enough be followed by another of similar degree. Or at least, that was what the pup's youthful mind would have supposed, if he were considering it at all.

As it was, Vaati was far more interested in prowling towards the dark shape on the rock face ahead of him. His lips were peeled back in a grinning snarl as his eyes flashed. Moonlight was on his back, rippling along the platinum fur of his nape. He'd been watching this shadow for a while now, mesmerized by the fact that it had always kept just ahead of him wherever he walked. It was infuriating, but that made the boy covet it all the more. He wanted it, as unattainable as it was.

Vaati paused in his prowling, his bum wriggling in the air as he found his center and prepared to launch. It was just sitting there as though it had no idea it had been targeted. The pup sucked in a breath, then burst forward suddenly towards the wall. In spite of all of his preparations, he failed to take into account the loose gravel beneath his paws or the whole... wall thing. He stumbled the moment he sprang, and was barely able to recover before he flung himself at the far-smaller-than-it-had-been-when-he'd-began-his-attack shadow on the rock, which he bashed headlong into before crumpling onto the ground in front of it.

Unattainable indeed.
