Soft paw steps fell gently in a layer of sand that surrounding Duck Lake. Arvi's keen gaze swept quickly over the smooth, glistening body of water. The female sat down beside the lake under an aspen tree and lifted her slender muzzle to the air. She drew in the calming scent of the water and breathed in deeply.

Calmness stole over Arvi's features as she sat under the shade of the tree. She reached out a paw and curled it around a thick log. She tugged it close to her and began to run a claw along the wood, the beginnings of a pattern in the making.
The shewolf had been padding about the valley for the entire morning, and her growing thirst was starting to knaw at her. She lifted her cream framed snout to the gentle spring breeze and located the nearest water source. She shifted her stride towards the east and increased her pace until she broke through the underbrush. The crystal waters of duck lake gleamed in the light of the afternoon sun. She padded lazily to the edge of the water leaning her head down to drink. Her muzzle sent ripples flowing through the flat water as she drank to her fill.
Arvi looked up from her carving to stare across the lake. An unfamiliar wolf's scent was what intrigued her. Being a lone wolf, she tended to stay to herself, but today she was feeling rather curious. Standing up, Arvi twitched an ear and began to trot quietly toward @Semira

The ground beneath her paws was firm and unyielding beneath her soft, moving paws. Her eyes were sparked with guarded friendliness as Arvi approached the other female. With a respectful dip of her head, Arvi offered her a greeting, a small smile forming on her maw.
As she lifted her head from the sparkling water, the lithe form of a wolf caught her eye. A wolf was trotting smoothly towards her, so she lifted herself up to her full height, hinting at her dominance.

The female's respectful greeting made Semira relax her slightly protective stance. She flicked her tail in greeting, "Hello! The names Semira." She smiled lightly with her cream muzzle. Her amber eyes gleaming with happiness, but also with a hint of wariness at the other rouge.
Arvi nodded once more, and she lowered her tail, instantly realizing who the dominant one was. The other wolf was larger than her and definitely, no probably, wiser. Frustration pricked at her paws as words unable to be spoken came to mind. She settled for a quick clench of her jaw to let out a bit of the frustration and drew a claw along a patch of sand. A moment later, she stepped back. One word stood their. Her name.

Lifting her muzzle once more to the breeze, she caught sight of a few ducks floating lazily in the lake, cooling off from the beating sun. Her eyes sparkling with mischief, she jabbed with her muzzle at the creatures and tipped her head inquisitively. Her muscles tensed as she waited to see if @Semira would get what she was and had been trying to say. She wanted to chase those ducks so badly... it was hard to wait for others to catch on sometimes. Although she may be out of her pup years, she still enjoyed a good owl' romp around with company.
She watched the other wolf's movements, enamored with the drawing she was pawing into the earth until she realized it was her name. Arvishafantra. Instantly understanding the other wolf's source of frustration, she smiled. "You have a beautiful name."

She glanced back up at the smaller wolf, watching her practically drool at the ducks gliding across the water merely feet from them.she grinned, tearing off into the water after the ducks. Loudly splashing about, chasing the ducks more for fun than food.
Arvi smiled to communicate her thanks. Then, she felt a leap of joy, for the other wolf actually knew what she was trying to say. In a flurry of paws, Arvi was chasing after @Semira with high spirits, the water splashing into her muzzle as she bared after her fellow female. She shook her muzzle, silver droplets raining back to the majority of its kind. With a burst of speed, her paws left the bottom the the lake and she began to swim, one of her favorite past times. The ducks had taken flight from the water and Arvi watched them with a lolling tongue, satisfaction tainting her gaze. She turned her duck-chasing partner in crime. That was fun! She thought while treading water.
Semira found herself laughing, snorting water up her snout as she began to swim. The ducks were now out of her reach, flying quickly over to the opposite end of the lake. She paddled out further into the lake, her pelt soaking through to the bone with the chilled water.

Still enjoying her now leisurely swim, she glanced over at her comrade. She tossed a goofy grin her way to express her feeling of joy. She let the water hold her afloat as she closed her eyes, a feeling of calm flowing through her, until she started to sink. She gasped in a short burst of water and coughed, quickly paddling with her forepaws and coming back up to the surface. Humor danced in her eyes as she turned her gaze to the other wolf, slightly embarrassed at her own clumsiness.
Arvi's tongue lolled in a relaxed fashion as her gaze rested on Semira. She was certainty glad that the other wolf didn't greet Hernandez like a pup just out of the whelping den, but she was still pleased, none the less. It made her realize that other wolves could understand her even if she didn't communicate in the normal way.

As the female wolf began to sink, Arvi darted forward to help. Help was not needed, apparently, as the other wolf popped back up with hunorfilled eyes. Realizing they had been floating in the water for more than she usually did, Arvi jerked her head in the direction of the shore with a questioning tip of her head to tip off the look.
After her tussle with the water, Semira found herself to be quite tired. Her treading paws were slowing, so she glanced over to her companion to read her behavior. Noticing the femme's suggestion to head inland, she nodded and started to swim to the shore.

At theshoreline her paws sank into the muddy cattails, she pawed her way up the small bank. She then looked back at Arvi to see if she was following. She shook out her tawny pelt, raining water down on the already wet soil.
Arvi watched as Semira began to swim to shore, and her keen gaze picked up the weariness in her movements. She followe behind the other wolf with smooth, practiced strokes until she to reached the muddy bank. Her paws sank into the peaty, moist ground and she picked her way from the waterfront, her sodden fur dripped, hugging her thin frame.

Pale eyes watched Semira shake out her fur, and the young wolf copied her. Droplets of liquid shimmered in the light as she trembled, dislodging the water from her coat. With a glance at her own fur, Arvi promptly sat down where she stood and began to clean her pelt free of the mud that had made a home in the thick fur surrounding her delicate paws.
The cinnamon wolf tilted her head at her newfound companion, wondering what it was she would like to do next. She then padded towards a nearby slab of slate rock, gently lowering herself down upon the warm surface. She looked out passively at the glistening water before her eyes and sighed.

She glanced back over to the young wolf, who was shaking out her multi-colored pelt and chuffed to get her attention. She shifted her gaze to another rock nearby and suggested, "The rocks are warm at this time of day, it will help dry you off." She smiled to affirm this, resting her maw upon her paws.
The female pricked her ears, straining to pick up her voice, and then nodded, bounding over to Semira with her endless energy. Arvi's paws carried her smoothly, almost as though she glided rather than walked. She had often met wolves who loped along with a lot of swag, but preferred the look of one more smooth-gaited.

Arvi tucked her paws beneath her as she sat beside Semira, a pleased smile lighting her maw's slim form. She enjoyed the nest that soaked through her paws and seemed to warn her very innards. Although she enjoyed being active and busy, a little rest couldn't hurt.
This thread is kind close to finished, but I was wondering if perhaps you would want to slide over to the border of the pack I have joined? We are just forming and need about two more threads to become an official pack. I would love to have you there in the pack! <3

Semira found her eyes closing to ward of the brilliant sunlight. She felt its warm rays kiss her exposed peltage, and she practically cooed. Her muscles became completely lucid, her limbs nearly numb with exhaustion. She nearly forgot that Arvi was nearby as she drifted off into a deep afternoon sleep.
I think so to. I would love to be a lone wolf for a bit longer, but maybe I will join her pack soon.

Arvi's watched Semira with a troubled glance. She didn't want to interrupt her peaceful rest. With a small prod of her paw, she tapped Semira on the shoulder, hoping she wouldn't wake her. Then, Arvi jerked her head in the direction where she had first arrived, a sign to tell that she must be going now. With a small smile, she creased her brows questioningly. See you again? She wrote with a hopeful glance up.
Sounds great! Just drop a joining thread into nartisardor bypass whenever you want!

Semira flicked her eyes open at the light tap on her shoulder, slightly tenseing before realizing it was Arvi. She smiled as sad smile as the wolf motioned and wrote in the sand. "I must leave soon anyways," She nodded, glancing back to where she came as well. "but we will definently meet again soon!" She said lightly before pulling her lithe form up off of the warm rock and stretching similar to a feline.
Okay!
Arvi nodded and sadly began to trot back the way she had came. She had quite liked Semira; she was nicer than many she had met. With a friendly wave of her tail, Arvi picked her pace up to a run and disappeared into the bushes until she was lost from sight.

Leaving unless stopped
Feel free to archive! See you next time haha

Semira gave a final flick of her tail to Arvi as the other wolf padded into the forest surrounding the lake. Then she herself went back the way she came.
