Aurora padded through a dark caravan, feeling stones shuffle beneath her paws.  It was dark... so very dark.  She squinted as she hoped her eyes would soon adjust to the gloomy area.  For a long moment she waited, and then images began to clear... especially a dark shadow at the back.  She wanted to runaway, but for some reason she couldn't as she felt her paws beginning to approach the shadow.

Red eyes gleamed in the darkness, a sickening crunch sounded...

Aurora awoke with a startled gasp, her bright blue eyes surveying the area around her with some fear lit up in her gaze.  Then without any further ado she pushed herself to her paws and made her way to the entrance of the den.  It was early morning now, the sun just only now beginning to climb high into the sky.

She sat with a sigh, thinking about her latest nightmare.
Steady had thought long and often about the two newest members of the pack. Was it coincidental that they showed up without families so close together? He had yet to get an answer. He had patrolled the borders, expecting someone to come looking for them. But, so far, no one had.

He had gotten up just before the sun, and made his way towards Krypton's den. His tail wagged and he lowered his head as he spotted the pup at the entrance. Hello, there, he greeted with a smile. My name is Steady, he introduced himself. Do you remember me? he asked, not sure how much she retained from the night on the borders.
Sunny had heard around that there was new members his age around the pack, but he had yet to see them. He was out shuffling about in the pale light of the rising sun, unable to fall back asleep after relieving himself on a tree nearby the den. He had seen Steady ahead of him and decided it was a good time to practice stalking, so he dropped to his belly and waited for Steady to move ahead further before following slowly. He sniffed at Steady's pawprints out of curiosity, noticing how large they were and found that he could smell Steady's scent almost like a trail now.

Keeping his head lowered to the ground to draw in Steady's scent he followed the alpha until he heard his voice, talking to someone else. Unsure if he would be in trouble for following he crouched behind a rock, his ears and eyes peeking out. He could see a small female pup, and felt his tail wag eagerly making a rustling sound in the grass behind him.
It wasn't very long she was alone, for soon the black furred wolf from earlier found her and reintroduced himself to her.  She gave a nod, in response to Steady's questions.  Yes, she did remember him from the borders.  Not well, but he was still there in her memory.

She jumped to her paws with a little yelp, fear shinning in her eyes at the sound of a rustling in the grass, not trusting whatever it was for a bit.  Yet when she stood there for a few seconds she noticed a pair of eyes and a pair of ears.  It had to be a wolf... unless it was a monster who'd come to eat her.  "Who's that?"  She breathed softly, yet just loud enough for the sound of her voice to travel to the others ears if he tried to listen.  Her fear had begun to die down now and slowly she sat back down, but still her eyes stayed sharply on the other... and she wouldn't look away.  Not until she heard who this was and what they were doing there.
Steady hadn't realized he was being followed, until he heard the rustling, and the female pup's frightened reaction. His head turned to see who was there, but he kept one ear trained on the girl.

When he realized who it was, his tail thumped the ground. That's my nephew, Sunny, he answered, motioning the boy over. Steady estimated they were about the same age, and hoped that would help the girl relax, knowing there were others here like her. He turned his gaze back to her. He has a sister, Dawn, and I have two, named Keoni and Nikai, he explained, his voice light, hoping her initial fear would continue to dissipate.
With relief that Steady seemed to not be mad, Sunny crept from behind his hiding spot. He gave an apologetic look toward the girl and a slow wag of his tail "Sorry...I didn't mean to scare you. I was stalkin Uncle Steady" he quickly apologized to the girl. Studying her with silence he found himself fascinated by  the redness of her fur, not completely realizing that he was staring either. After a long few moments he snapped out of it and began to speak some more, his voice quiet and soft like Uncle steady was doing.

"Dawn is sweet, but she can be mighty fierce sometimes. Maybe you could meet her sometime?" he suggested brightly. The girl's timidity didn't stop him from chattering apparently, for he opened his mouth again "What's your name miss?" he asked curiously.
She watched the pup reveal himself, appearing apologetic. He began to explain his reasoning and she just nodded, accepting his apology.  She then listened as he went on to talk about Dawn, his sister as Steady had said, along with this Keoni and Nikai , Steady's children.  At the back of her head she thought briefly of Connie and Cosmos, but already she was beginning to forget what they looked like.  So turning her full attention back on the other two she answered the question Sunny had thrown at her.

"My names Aurora," she replied softly in return to his question.
