The days have begun to warm and most of the snow is long gone. As spring comes into view, the changing of the seasons is more than welcome. Most of his life has been spent in the north where most days are cold and his warmer days are fewer. He doesn’t anticipate the hot summer around the corner and his thick northern coat. Instead, he’s far more interested in the mild temperature of the day and his desire to do more. Arlo’s morning is spent on the northern border, checking thing over with his brother before they depart. He’s headed to check the outer tunnel further to the south in the sound and Arlo makes his way back to the learning near the lake. Each day he checks the temperature, waiting for the day it warms up enough he won’t freeze his gonads off for stepping into water.

It is still much too cold and Arlo pivots back, trotting away from the shore into the rest of the territory.
After meeting Tirgatao in the redwood forest, Corranochender had made it a point to explore the whole of the border of Drageda. It was his home now, afterall and he wanted to protect it, especially since there were now pups in the den. Cor wasn't yet allowed that deep into the packlands, so had not seen the new arrivals. Actually, he hadn't seen much of anyone. The mountainous silvered male did think this was a bit strange, something he had never experienced before, but such was the way of his new home. Once he had earned his trade for the pack, he would be allowed into the Hougeda.

So, he took it upon himself to patrol the borders. On this day, as he trotted along an unseen scent line, he heard the rustling of another. Putting black nose to wind, he inhaled the scent. Ah...another packmate, male, young. Corranochender's amber eyes scanned the area up ahead. Sure enough he spied a white form moving. He barked a greeting, alerting the other to his presence.
Arlo finds himself on the borders again. More routine. His paws settle into a steady, familiar rhythm that’s neither boring nor exciting. It’s work, his job. He’s part of the reason Drageda has been kept safe, especially with the collective work of the others. Most of the time he’s on his own, or with his brother, but this day he notes another up ahead. He spies the older wolf before he hears him but it is not but a few seconds before the bark comes. Arlo shifts his weight as he approaches the kru, someone he hasn’t met just yet, but he’d gotten by the borders with Thuringwethil so he keeps himself lax.

His tail curves above his spine as he approaches the burly wolf, bigger in size than he by a few inches and pounds, giving him an impressive view once he’s up close. Arlo chuffs, arching an eyebrow playfully as he thumps his front feet on the ground. Prove yourself.
The closer Corranochender got to the white male, the bigger the wolf appeared. Through scent, Cor noted that the giant in front of him was young, not too far past a year. He was onlly slightly smaller than Cor, himself, but really, small was not a word that should ever be used to describe him. There was only one time in his life that he had come across a wolf matching him for size and that male was challenging him for his packlands. Needless to say, that male lost.

Cor raiseD his brows in surprise momentarily, as the other fell into a playful posture. Ah he wanted to spar! He chuckled, tail wagging back and forth a few times before planting his paws firmly on the earth. Neck slung low on his shoulders, his amber eyes focused on the younger male. Then suddenly powerful muscles bunched in his hind legs and he shot forward, aiming a nip at his left cheek.

Sorry for the crappy post. Literally took me hours at work just to get this. Lol/

It does not take much for the invitation to be received. The male takes his posture and Arlo quickly shifts into his own. Thuringwethil has already given her approval on the male being in Drageda but their home isn’t something he’s exactly used to. It’s different from Trigeda, and what he remembers of Seageda, and these wolves—these outsiders—put a separation between them. Those in the hedonakru have proven themselves to Heda already but this one is new and he has much more to earn than they do. Arlo doesn’t have to question them, but he does have to question this one.

He doesn’t have long before the other launches forward. He’s bigger and more experienced but Arlo has trained since he could walk properly and he isn’t nearly as old. His feet move quickly and he’s able to avoid the nip at his face, lifting his lips to show his fangs in warning but the brute’s close proximity gives him the chance to retaliate against the opponent’s shoulder.
