To the Redgrove she went to calm down and bath in the few of many rays of sun - even though here they were in higher numbers than wherever she went in the dark woods. Blackfeather woods was a good name to call it, she then noticed, seeing that even many feathers decorated the bedding of blood-red bushes. She had noticed them before but had never really paid any attention to the fact that many ravens liked to leave feathers in the time of their stay. Rather strange, she found, as the black eyes stared at her from atop the trees. She scoffed arrogantly, even though she steered clear from the middle of the grove. She wasn't scared of them, she simply felt uncomfortable lying there in the open without the protection of real "woods" with all those eyes on her. So, she laid her midnight form down to relax for a moment. It felt like ages ago that she had gotten some time for herself, and now that they had re-claimed the woods and returned it to its rightful owner, it seemed only earned that she got a day off.
She couldn't shake the feeling that everything had happened too fast - that Nemesis' absence had been too easy. As much as Nyx despised her, she could not deny that the woman had spirit and a strange loyalty to the woods alone. Not only that, but she seemed to have taken none of her brothers with her, wherever she had gone. It was as if she had simply vanished, caught by the wind and blown to where she wouldn't be a bother to the two anymore. This didn't seem like her style.
Not many could surprise Nyx, but when the purring from behind her broke the silence of the woods her ears flicked curiously. How Damien had been able to sneak up on her, she had no idea. She blamed the birds' evil, staring eyes for distracting her - or perhaps Damien really was a shadow. She shifted her form, looking behind and up to find him. Simply thinking.
She answered. Victory has come easy to us this time...
She went on, concern finding a way into her slightly accented voice. Too easy?
She questioned with a light frown.
Her cheeks couldn't help but glow as Damien settled beside her, yet she remained calm. It wasn't like they had never been this close to each other, right? Still, Damien did not seem like himself today; as if he was afraid of being followed or something? Did he know something she didn't, or was he going a little crazy because of what she had said the moment after Atshen took over? She wanted to ask, but found the issue to be a little too personal.
Well, then you should not trust them. Your gut acts as a second brain, you know?
She adviced, feeling that same gut feeling every now and then. Then a thought came up; while he had not mentioned her, and she held the position that was to act as another extension of himself, did he trust her? Do you feel like you can trust me?
She asked carefully. Or was it just because she had been one of the few to support his claim?
