If you are on pup restriction (Aditya, Starbelly, Coq, Mirabelle), a very defensive Grayday will show up in this thread if your character arrives without their designated escort. But AW!
Daddy had been granting her and her siblings more and more freedom each day. She no longer had to sit around and wait at the rendezvous site for someone to come and play with her, but could venture a good ways on her own in order to
find a playmate. Daddy'd told them to keep clear of the newer members unless someone they knew said it was okay, but that didn't stop Easy from exploring on her own.
She found that she was often on her own, these days. She had a habit of picking fights with her siblings, who oftened evoked aggressive tendancies in the young girl despite how dear to her they were. She
loved Lavender and Dauntless (Daddy used their other names less and less, these days), but Dauntless never talked to her anymore, and Lav still seemed to be pining for their mother.
Easy hated their mother.
So she played by herself at the catfish pond, digging big crawdaddies and slippery frogs out of the muddy reeds and shallow waters. It was not the most social activity, but it was something to do. Besides - Easy liked any game that ended with a nice snack.
Easy, thankfully, noticed nothing amiss. Her sister's ungainly entrance drew a surprised giggle from her, but she assumed that Dawn had meant to splash into the water, and the younger girl gladly splashed after her. "You're scarin' the frogs, Dawn!" she accused, but her wagging tail gave away how happy she was to see her sister. And the fish - there are big ones in here! But be careful, 'cos they got spines that hurt!"
She licked at her whiskers, remembering how much it'd hurt when she'd finally caught one, only to have it flip around and jab her in the muzzle. She was determined to get the best of it, one day.
"If you swim out here, they nibble your toes," she added, wading into the water until she had to paddle to keep her head up. She'd gotten pretty good at swimming, and was unphased when the tiny waves she made came back to lap at her nose. She simply licked the water away and kept going, her tail wheeling after her in happiness.
"Ah!" Easy shrieked, startled by her big sister's sudden disappearance. She swung her head around, looking for signs of the older girl, and swam in little circles, craning her head to try and look under the surface and getting a mouthful of mucky water as she did. "Dawn? Are you down there?" she called, having calmed down a little bit. There was a skeptical cast to her face as she searched for Dawn - she'd learned already what 'being had' felt like.
In the few seconds it took for Dawn to resurface, though, Easy had worked herself back up to worry once more - she paddled over as quickly as she could and jabbed at Dawn's face with her pudgy paw.
"Didit snatch ya?" she asked breathlessly, eyes wide and a bit fearful.
Easy relaxed when she saw that Dawn was unharmed, but bopped the older girl in retaliation for the prank. She'd been
worried - but that was the past, and Easy wasn't one for grudges. Especially when cosmic justice was served up on a silver platter in the form of a crawdad.
"Yeah," the girl giggled, eyes darting after the offending creature. It was a shame Dawn dropped it - she really liked the way those things tasted.
"Will you teach me to swim under water?" she asked hopefully.
"I always get water up my nose."
We can fade here, unless you want to get into underwaterswimming technicalities
