Pan was awake early, ready for the day ahead. He had big plans. Sometimes, he knew an adventure awaited him, he could smell it in the air. Today was one of those days. He had been curled up in a small burrow near a large uprooted tree. He yawned and stretched his legs, sniffing the morning air. It was slightly foggy today, making his fur dewy and wet. He shook himself as dry as he could and looked around. The forest was quiet so he decided to do some exploring. He hadn't explored much of this region before. He found it quite spooky. Pan preferred the wide open meadows or the expanse of the seashore.
lets pretend this is set a little after Charlemagne trip to the coast?

A red silhouette flashed by the extensive flat lands, scurring from bush to bush, its little ears glued to his skull as he went. Ahead of the red canid a small field mouse nibbled on a seed, unsuspecting the danger that lurked in a bush a few feet away.

Charlemagne licked his lips as he observed the little creature bring the seed to its mouth, he slowly crept closer, his hind legs ready to propel him into action. Suddenly a scent pretty much like his own with a tinge of saltiness reached his nostrils.

The young fox pricked his ears and forgetting about the tiny mouse he turned, following the scent with his eyes full of curiosity. Finally he came upon the source another fox, just like him, wandering in the forest, with a confused look on his face.

"Hey!" Charlemagne called, raising his tail high into the air and waiting for a response.
