Beric was making his way around the perimeter of the island, stopping to mark the area with his scent, to let outsiders know it was claimed and they were trespassing. Since he found out that Horizon Ridge was unhappy with their current placement, he had increased the amount of rounds he did. He didn't want them making the mistake of thinking they could come here and start a war. Whether they liked it or not, this was the pack's home now, and he would not be run off from it just because they wanted to lay claim to lands they literally had no claim to. Anyone was free to hunt on them, unless they officially claimed them. Since they hadn't already, he figured they had no intention of doing so.

He paused on the shore and looked to the mainland. Their pack had increased in size, and if war did come, they had soldiers. Beric would be the first to offer himself up, as he was loyal to Majesty. Unbeknownst to him, however, Horizon Ridge held something more dear to him than loyalty: his family. Julooke and Verrine, who he didn't know where there, could break the loyalty he had to this pack, if he ever found them. For now, it seemed this war would keep them apart another day.

Ok so I hope you don't mind if I join.. I'm gonna suppose it's daytime since you didn't specify

The hot sun was driving Naya insane... she had spent her entire lifetime in cold forests and high mountains and she loved the snow, so she decided to go and cool down a little in the nice cold seawater. She saw a big wolf on the shore, staring at the mainland. It was Beric, she liked the guy even though he was a little quiet the last time she met him, and he was cute on Naya's opinion.

"Nice view, isn't it?" she barked when she was close enough for him to listen, then she walked closer to him, wagging her tail in a friendly sign. She considered him a friend even though they never really spoke before, he was a party of her pack now anyways.

"I was gonna go for a swim, you know.. to cool down a little, it's really hot here in this island.." she wanted to get to know him, he seemed really nice "would.. will you come with me?" she woofed softly, smiling.

Naya often found herself thinking about her brother lately, and without him she felt lonely.. she could use some fun time with a new wolf, and what could be more fun than the beach and the sea.
ooc: Can I join? Its short though sorry...

Ypres hadn't the pleasure in meeting the other original wolves of the pack, but she had been observing for quite some time now. Observing Beric and Naya from afar as she made her daily rounds, she too was bored out of her skull. She had no one to spar with, or anyone to make conversation with. Despite finding ''home'', she was lonesome.
She wandered over to introduce herself finally.

Greetings. I am Ypres. Nice day huh?

She offered a friendly wag of tail as she offered her name and light conversation. She observed the waves of the ocean and smiled as she parked herself a few feet from the pair awaiting conversation.
Glad you two could join! :-) Sure, we can say it's day

His thoughts were broken by a gentle voice. His head swiveled to allow his gaze to fall upon Naya, a female he hadn't spoken with previously, but knew her as a pack mate. His tail wagged in response to her, returning her friendly greeting. Yes, it is, he replied, even though his thoughts hadn't been.

She stated she had come for a swim, and he had to admit it was a rather hot day. He nodded, Sure, that sounds like a good idea. He took a few steps into the water when another voice rang out. It wasn't one he was familiar with. His head turned as she introduced herself, I'm Beric, he responded, then motioned to Naya, This is Naya. We were just going for a swim. Want to come? He figured it was a good chance for the trio to bond a little as pack mates. He admitted he hadn't spent much time getting to know the other wolves of Wheeling Gull Isle, but he could make up a little for it now.

Beric greeted Naya with a wag of his tail, -such a gentleman- she thought as she smiled and followed him into the cool water, oh it was refreshing.

Naya was almost chest deep when another female showed up on the beach, stocky build.. almost masculine... She had a beautiful coat though, to Naya it was as beautiful as the sand in that gorgeous beach. The female introduced herself and naya wagged her tail in a friendly response "Yeah, beautiful indeed, but the heat is killing me!" she barked between giggles, almost screaming because the sound of the crashing waves silenced her. Beric then introduced them both, and with a smile he invited their new mate to join them. "yeah! please join us, the water is lovely!"

Naya wanted to get to know her pack mates and what a better way that goofing around in the beach, huh?
Ypres had to admit; they were indeed correct about the heat! However she was dedicating her time patrolling the area to make sure the pack's borders were safe. Ypres offered a tail wag and a friendly woof back to the swimming pair. She assumed it wouldn't be a bother to just have a little bit of fun; but what if there were interlopers on the other side of the borders?
Ypres offered a weary glance at the crashing waves upon the rocks at one of the beach's points. She had never swam an ocean before; lakes yes, but not an ocean. She heard about rip tides and how they pull you. Ypres swallowed nervously.

Well, I guess I can use a cool off, it is hot...

She agreed with a playful wag, as she daintily wadded at the shore. Eyes carefully scanning the water for foreign creatures but not seeing any. She heard about the stinging jellies, the sharks and other nasty little creatures that thrived within the treacherous ocean. She took a nervous breath as she drew in just a little deeper into the water as gentle waves rolled in.
Beric wasn't too familiar with the other creatures and dangerous of the ocean, so ignorance was bliss for him. It was such a hot day out, even he had known the dangers, he would probably still go for a swim. Beric began to try and jump over the smaller waves, sending splashes of water all around him. He let out a playful bark, turning his gaze to his pack mates. He lifted a paw out of the water and brought it down forcefully on the top of the water, trying to send a little towards Naya, and then Ypres. He gauged their reactions, his tail wagging, hoping they would join in on the play.

Ypres agreed on joining them and approached the pair step by step carefully searching for dangers in the water. Naya knew the ocean, she and her brother found some beaches before getting to the Teekon Wilds, she knew it could be dangerous sometimes but this wasn't a place to be afraid of, she felt safe. "C'mon Ypres, nothing's gonna bite you here! Relax a bit!" Naya mocked her.. Y'know.. In a friendly way..

Naya started splashing around, and she was about to splash towards Ypres when Beric splashed her all over, bending into a playing position, Naya turned to him with a "Oh no you didn't" expression and between giggles responded to the game "Oh you're asking for it!" She then splashed the water again with her tail, aiming for Beric, and jumped in the waves, this time going for Ypres. That hot morning was about to turn into a fun one..
Just as Ypres was getting accustomed to the feel of the water, she felt a connection of water splashing her face. She squint her eyes, pulled back, and shook out her pelt with a lick of her lips. She made a face tasting the water with a narrowed expressive gaze toward Naya the culprit. She offered a playful bark heaving upward onto hind legs in attempts to splash her back by landing hard onto the water.

She laughed defiantly as she drew in deeper into the water. It was good to have some fun now and again, instead of always taking life so seriously. Eyes looked over to Beric she attempted the same move now towards him.

"How"d ya like them apples?"

She teased.
The girls seemed to respond positively to his splashing, returning the favor, as he hoped. He laughed as they sort of ganged up on him, and then Naya moved towards Ypres. While she had her back turned, he raised up on his back legs, and brought his front ones down forcefully, sending up a huge splash all around, even getting himself wet in the process. It had been a while since Beric had taken the time just to relax and have a little fun. He was always so serious, and tending to his duties and worrying about everyone else. Today, he was happy just to hang out with a couple of pack mates and not worry about a thing.

Spotting a vine of seaweed next to him, he grabbed it up between his jaws and tossed it towards the females. Since they were standing in the same direction, it would be funny to see if it landed on one of them and how they responded.
