Yawning absentmindedly, Greyback wandered through the tall grass of Rising Sun Valley with the wind gently pulling at his fur. The sun was harsh today, covering the ground in its light and making the man a bit hot as it beamed down onto his thick fur. Greyback was always one to hide in the shade on these days, away from the heat, but he had been cooped up within the boundaries of Easthollow for far too long and itched for a walk.
Taking a turn on the well taken path, Greyback caught scent of another wolf, one he didn't know of. Curiosity piqued, he followed it towards a sea of flowers where a bundle of cream lay. Silently the man watched the form for a few seconds, gauging if they were friendly or not. They didn't stir. Tipping his head, he slowly walked closer with narrowed eyes, wondering if they were okay.
As he approached, his paws mere inches from her face, he let out a gentle "Miss...are you alright?" his body completely blocking out the sun and giving him a halo of gold above his shadowed face.
Greyback was taken aback when the eyes of the girl opened. They were different colors! He had never seen such a thing before. As she looked up he gently took a step back to give her space, a smile still apparent on his face.
"waaaah, a walking mountain.~"
A chuckle escaped his jaws as he was referred to as a mountain. Most of the time it was a boulder, a rock, once even a bear, but never a mountain. He shook his head at the description in a friendly way. Who was this girl? She seemed to not be afraid of him, extremely laid back if anything. "Afraid not, Miss."
"hiii therreee. It's a niiice day.~"
The man looked up and around before turning back to her, his amber peach gaze finding hers. "It is indeed," He sat down slowly, guessing that she didn't mind his company. "Pardon me, but you don't smell like any pack wolf from around here. It can be dangerous at times, id be careful, " He warned, "Greyback, by the way," he continued, giving his name to the girl and hoping she would tell him hers.
"Too bad.~"
Greyback watched as the young wolf sat upright, his eyes following her every move. She seemed rather childish for her age, something he rarely saw around these lands, or maybe she was just extremely tired; he watched her sway slightly. Had she really needed that much sleep? Greyback felt a bit selfish for waking her up if that was the case.
"Packs, huhhh.~ How cute.~"
He resisted the urge to flinch back at the word. Cute? Did she mean him? A light frown settled on his face as he thought about the word. Once again, he had been called many times- cute was not one. He shook his head a bit, giving an awkward laugh to ward away his uneasiness. This female was making him slightly uncomfortable, but he didn't show it.
"Ohhhh, Greyback? Do yooouuu have a gray back?~ ah, annnd I am Aerasha.~"
The man blinked and turned to look over his shoulder to glance at his back. He didn't actually know if he was named that due to the grey banding there but it was interesting he supposed. "I do indeed, " He chuckled again. He needed to stop doing that. "It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Aerasha. Is there any reason why you're traveling?"
"Ummm, hmmm, mmmm.~"
With each passing second it became apparent to Greyback that Aerasha wasn't quite sure what she was doing. He watched as she tipped her head, a constant stand of "um's" and "hum's" leaving her lips as she thought to herself. Thought about what? Was it a hard question to her? He wondered if she was okay. The only answer he got was a drawn out "Dunno", which wasn't much help to the conversation.
"Ah, buuut, you seem to be travelling too, yeeesss? Are you squinting tooo fiiind something?~"
Traveling? Greyback shook his head. He supposed he was traveling if you wanted to call it that. "I'm only admiring the day, Miss. I thought I'd take a stroll outside the territory to enjoy it," he responded, his tail flicking behind him. He turned to her when she mentioned him squinting. Squinting? He furrowed his brows and pinned his ears back in uncertainty. "Squinting? Whatever do you mean?"
The man knew the words werent meant to hurt as they were simple and curious, but he couldn't help but feel slightly offended at the idea. Did others think he was squinting? He felt his skin prickle the more he sat in the presence of this strange, strange wolf.
"Outside the territory?~" she questioned, but it wasn't clear if she directed at him, or herself, "wheeree?~" Aerasha momentarily straightened and widened her eyes, it was like she had a 'eruka' moment after asking him a question, "Ah.~" Though that only lasted a few moments before she sleepily slouched again. Her head tilting to the side in wonder as she twitched her soft ears," theeennn does that mean you are a pack wolf?" Greyback did mention there was some nearby, but she didn't see any. Maybe it was pure luck she passed by and managed to get this far without any trouble, however she found it a shame instead. The coffee creamed wolf would enjoy to see what the packs in this region were like, she was quite curious.
"Ah, mmmm, nevermind?~" Giving the gray male a soft smile with innocent eyes, some would perhaps think at this moment she looked like a 'mischevious fox,' rather then a lovely lady. Though it still remains unknown if she does it on purpose or not, instead Aerasha tried to defuse his question with a simple, 'nvm.~'
"Outside the territory? wheeree?~"
Greyback was about to answer Aerasha but was beaten to it with her little "Ah." of wonder. He guessed she figured it out herself the second she said it. He watched her slouch forward and tip her head as she looked at him, a sign that she wanted to ask a question? He raised his brows and dipped his head in acknowledgement, waiting for it.
"Theeennn does that mean you are a pack wolf?...Ah, mmmm, nevermind?~"
He smiled when she asked about being a pack-wolf but was a little confused when she said nevermind. He shook his head from side to side and let out a smile, feeling at ease a bit more in a conversation he could talk about. Had she been interested in joining a pack? "I assure you I don't mind, miss. I'm indeed a pack wolf," he turned his head back and pointed with his muzzle upwards in direction to the hills. "Easthollow, my pack, lives out by there."
He turned back to her after pointing and dipped his head once more. "Are you perhaps interested? We have room, and are always open to welcoming newcomers."
Greyback's ears perked as the cream colored wolf confirmed she was interested in Easthollow, he was glad she was interested. They could always use more pack members, especially since winter was nearing. They would need wolves to help take down the bison soon; a difficult job for only 2-3 wolves.
"...but i'mmm tirrreeddd,"
Greyback watched the female slump down to the ground with the whine, his brows drawing upwards before furrowing together. He bent down and sniffed lightly at her to see if she was sick, but noticed her eyes. She was...begging? Greyback straightened upwards and pulled his ears back. She wanted him to carry her? He let out a grumble, acknowledging the situation. He would normally say no to strangers but if she was going to join they would need to bond.
With a sigh, he bent down and looked at her. "I'll carry you. But please don't squirm too much,"
