looking for a spar!

the days began nd ended with the same routine. wake up, hunt or patrol, sleep. wake up, patrol, sleep. wake, work, sleep. ugh. nothing exciting broke the slow cycle. minori kept to herself, as he’d expected and he had yet to meet any new faces, so that left him bored for most of the day.

the sun was beginning to set. it’s autumn colored rays made the clouds that covered it dance. issun walked along the borders, keeping an eye out for something, anything other than trees.

Patrolling had lost its ability to be anything other than a mundane task long before settling at the plateau. Kavik had done it so much when they were traveling here, that now it was nothing more than muscle memory. It was still an important job, of course. Keeping their lands safe was one of his highest priorities, but he found that he needed other things to work off any anxious energy circulating inside.

Still, this evening, he had began his nightly patrol, only to be distracted by the new pack member's fresh scent trail. The alpha followed after the male until the dark man's form appeared in the distance. With a courtesy chuff, he quickly caught up with Issun. Evening, he greeted as he approached. Patrolling? he asked, wondering what the new male was up to.
oof this sucks, sorry ;-;

his tail gently wagged when kavik approached. he’d only seen him upon arrival, where few words were shared. now that formality was out of the way, they’d be able to get to know each other a little better.

yep,” issun replied, nodding his head, “care to join?
You're fine! :)

Kavik dipped his head at the offer. I'd love to, he replied, always glad to spend time with his packmates. Issun was new, too, so the alpha wanted to get to know him a little better so that they could begin to form a bond that ran deeper than just belonging to the same pack; it was something he wished to do with all of the members of the plateau. He nodded to the dark male then, indicating that he could lead the way if he wished.
he took the lead and led them along the borders. a calm silence fell over the forest as they walked. “so,” issun stopped in his tracks to face the other male, “would you like to spar? it’s been awhile since i’ve had a good tussle.
They walked silently along the borders for a few minutes, the only sounds those of the forest that covered the plateau around them. Soon, the other male stopped and turned to Kavik, asking if he'd like to spar. The alpha nodded. Sure, I'm always up for a spar, he answered. It was his plan to spar with all willing members of the plateau anyway; he wanted to see how well the other members could fight to get a better idea of how well they could protect the pack. He had no doubt that everyone was capable, but he still wanted to be familiar with everyone's fighting style.
