funny bc terance does not like bears. anyhow, AW.

terance began the day just as he should've-- with a patrol.

he found himself quite unsettled in the wood, as he'd grown up along the coast and constantly travelling, and then had made his home among mountain and cliffs. a flat, covered territory had him out of his element-- but he was adjusting.

the hollow's beta travelled along the borders with green eyes scanning the outskirts of the territory, the trees becoming sparser. he couldn't say he had any problems with the place, at least. though it wasn't very familiar to him, he couldn't say he minded the newness. it was a breath of fresh air, and a good way to restart.
The only complaint she found she had was that this was basically starting over. She had done that already and had just become comfortable at Sunspire despite lack of food when the announcement that were moving was made. Now she was here with them all, starting over again. It was still Sunspire overall despite the name planning to be changed but a new territory, unknown dangers could appear....her comfort had faded.

Yet she did her part. She was patrolling and leaving her scent along the borders, familiarizing herself slowly with the territory. As she rubbed against a tree she spotted Terance approaching in the distance from the opposite direction and moved toward him giving a friendly bark in greeting "Hello! We haven't talked in a while" she greeted with a smile. Maybe approaching in a less timid way then before would get better results.
funny that not all wolves of the hollow thought the same was as him about the move. but not everyone thought like terance, he'd discovered. and it didn't matter anyhow.

he turned as he heard the voice of hyacinth, his ears pricking and nose twitching as he observed her with a generous curiosity before his nose dipped. "hey, hyacinth," he greeted, lips turning into a small smile-- it was rare that terance revealed a full, toothy grin anymore. "how are you settling in?" he asked his packmate, tail flicking behind him.
Good. This was good. Far less tense and awkward. She immediately relaxed fully...at least until he asked the one thing that could probably ruin the good mood. Should she like or should she be truthful? "I... it's real nice. I'm sure I can settle in soon and get used to it." she though because she was the worst at hiding how she felt her doubt and uncertainty showed through her tone like it was on display in a glass window.
and of course terance saw right through it.

his expression deepened, brow furrowing and lips turning to a gentle frown. "you're not comfortable in the territory," he commented, waiting for her to express her own opinions to him. he wouldn't ask, but the expectation that she would lingered between the two.
Well crap. She always was a poor liar. She sighed and looked down at her paws, feeling bad. "No. The territory is real nice. It's..well...comin' to Sunspire was my new beginning. I was just startin' to get comfortable with myself and my place in this pack when the food started goin' and we up and moved. Now it seems..well...with Olive and Seabreeze leaving and new changes in rank and a new territory... it seems like I gotta start again" she confessed it all honestly, her drawl getting heavier like it normally did when she was stressed or nervous.
