The sun was peeking in and out of behind the darkened clouds, almost like it was playing peek-a-boo with the earth. The wind was strong and the cold could cut through any wolf's coat no matter how thick it is. Khali knew it was only a few hours before the night would fall over the land and everyone would be huddled in their dens for warmth. For now he wanted to take his love to a special place inside the territory and relax with her. He knew that later on in the month that they would have to buckle down and fill the caches and take care of the expecting mothers.

The sandy man sat down and leaned his head back softly to open his muzzle and let out a long and powerful howl for @Lily. It lasted a little while and then he stopped to wait on her. The snow had blanketed the ground the night before just an inch or two. He looked down and lifted his paw to see his paw print and then imagined how small a puppy's would look beside his.
Heat thread numero uno

Something felt off. At first, she was afraid she was getting sick again, like at Broken Boulder. She was a little nauseous, and definitely flushed. But with it came none of the vomiting or chills. It started to feel quite nice after a while, and she leaned into it, meandering around the forest in a sort of haze.

Khali's howl went through her like a bolt of lightning, and she sauntered toward it, tail swinging. Her face broke into a foxlike grin as she saw him. Lily approached and without hesitation, brushed against him like a cat on a post. She lifted her muzzle to nose at his cheek, giggling slightly.

It was a kind of high she'd never felt before--and she'd no idea what was wrong with her.

Hiya, darling, the blackbird crooned, her voice a throaty purr. Lord almighty. You called? she asked, blinking playfully at him.
Nothing could be better right? He was planning to take his love to the rose garden that bloomed year round and have a special day, but then before she was even in sight a whaft of something sweet filled his nose. It wasn't like anything he smelled before, but yet he had smelled it before. Khali's eyes almost popped out of his head as he seen Lily walk up to him and brush against his fur.

A hot flash came over him and he tried not to let her notice. It was a torn choice of being a gentleman or letting his wild side take over, and he chose being a gentleman. After all the day he planned was still going to happen.

I wanted to take you to the garden today, spend some time and relax together. his voice was a bit shaky as he tried to gather himself. Just being around her, near her, filled his nose with that scent that he just couldn't resist. If you want to go? he asked and then softly groomed the fur beside her ear.

As he groomed he realized that any male could smell it, not just himself. A small bit of rage burned within him. He had to keep her close, just had too.
She didn't miss the quiver in his voice and peered at him, head cocked slightly. Yeah, definitely, she said, smiling sweetly. Why? Have you got a surprise for me? That why you're so nervous, eh?

Lily knew about heats, obviously. Her parents hadn't been entirely clueless in the realm of sex ed. Man's thingy in woman's yadda-yadda. Right. But she didn't really have any clue ever of what to expect, nor when it would come. She couldn't have recognized it if it hit her right in the face.

Or Khali's face, evidently.

Let's go, then, she chuckled, drawing her tail along his flank before padding in the direction of the field.
When she accepted he smiled and then nudged her. Her speaking of his nervousness made him cough a bit and then shake his head, I-I'm not nervous. I don't think . It was obvious he was trying to cover it up, he hadn't ever been around a woman in heat which intimidated him a bit. It hadn't been something he ever thought was something to worry about before but now, now it was.

As her tail brushed against his fur it was like she shocked him, he felt the electricity jolt through his body. It was a rush and not one that he could deny, felt good. The instinct was trying to take over him as he followed behind her closely. As they walked he looked around protectively, swearing to himself that if any male came around he would hide Lily away, but she would never know.

How has your day been so far? , regular conversation, good start Khali... youre doing good he thought talking himself through it.
You're a bad liar, she teased, waiting for him to catch up with her. They strolled along together; she was constantly aware of something in the air, because Khali was acting strange, too. What sort of sickness was this? Honestly, she'd take it if she didn't have to vomit half her body weight again.

His question came right on time, and she shrugged, glancing at him as she walked. I dunno. I feel. . .funny, she tried, ears swiveling in uncertainty. Like I'm getting sick, but I don't feel sick. In fact, I feel great. But not like usual. It's different. Lily cocked her head in query. What about you? How are you feeling?
Khali thought for a moment, she wasn't entirely wrong, he was bad at lying. He shrugged and then chuckled, You're not wrong my love . For a moment he forgot of the smell but then after he stopped talking it was there again. It was all he could think about, he needed her and soon but he wouldn't tell her that yet.

Khali cocked his head to one side when she said that she felt funny. He knew what this was but she didn't? Was it best if he told her? Khali was torn at this point if he should tell her or not. I'm good. Better than ever., well he hadn't told her. Khali was silent most of the way to the garden, contemplating whether or not to tell her that she was in heat and he wanted her more than he ever knew was possible.

The sight of a rose on the ground had signified they had made it to their destination. Khali carefully picked it with his teeth and then looked at Lily, his eyes full of love. Lily I love you. he said muffled because of the beautiful red rose that hung in his mouth. It was going to be the perfect day.
She gave him a happy nudge as he answered her query, and then they spilled out onto the moor, vast pale green and red dots filling her vision. They came to a halt, and Khali stooped to pick something up from the ground. She smiled, curious, only to have the expression grow wider as she saw the rose between his teeth.

I love you, Lily said fervently, and there was a feeling in her stomach that she'd only felt a few times before. She brought her nose to the flower, inhaling deeply. Smells good, she whispered, her lips just a hairsbreadth away from his.

Like a coquette, she drew her muzzle along the line of his mouth in a fleeting kiss before pulling away, a tremor lifting every hair along her spine. Like fear, but something even greater. Warmer. She blinked slowly at him, and then pressed her lips against the pounding of his heartbeat in his throat, counting the drums. One-and, two-and, three-and. . .

I love you, she repeated, and her tail moved aside to reveal that very primal truth.

His creamy amber eyes were soft with love, the way she bent to smell the rose and inhaled had held a special place in his heart. It was special to him the way she was so quick to smell it and return the gesture he had said to her. As she kissed him softly he felt a jolt of his heart and then he felt a high travel through his body, like for a moment he was gliding on the clouds that took up the sky.

Then she went to his throat and his heart beat was stronger now, beating every single millisecond it felt like. Breath heavy and mind still clouded she moved her tail and the truth stood out, one he already knew. It was harder than ever to resist her right now as he let out a small groan and let the rose take a swan dive out of his mouth.

Khali took his mouth to her ear and groomed softly. Then down to her neck grooming and making butterfly kisses... the heat between the two of them could heat a den right now..
She felt it. The same fervor she'd felt with Dirge, Vilkas, Barracuda. . . Except this was magnified, as strong as the sun was bright. She could scarcely breathe in the face of it, and she gave into his ministrations with a shuddering breath, a fluttering of her eyelids.

Please, Lily breathed, and knew how different this was. Love rather than lust. A promise kept, instead of a glimmer of what could be. Everyone else had been fly by night, but Khali. . .Khali was hers, and always would be. Faithful and true. Their love so far had been deeper than flesh--

Which made these caresses all the more sweet.

Her spine began to arch, slightly downward, like a cat caught in a languorous stretch. The blackbird looked at him with a question in her eyes, a slight cant to her head. She was ready.
Lily was the first female that Khali had ever felt these feelings for. He knew it was real when he was more worried for her safety than his own. The memory of Lily being so weak she couldn't get up when he found her in the garden back when they were being taken over by the pesky felines flashed through his mind. He was so worried about her then, it didn't seem like she would be by his side today. It was a miracle when she got better and looked into finding them this beautiful place they now called home.

As he was reminiscing in his own mind, he stretched his kissed along her body. From the nap of her neck and coming down to her back after she had arched it. If this was going to happen he was determined to make it so meaningful because it was. The kissed trailed to the started of her tail and then he inhaled deeply to get a nose full of her sweet smell. It was making him go wild on the inside but on the outside he was trying to stay somewhat calm. I just want this to be meaningful.. he whispered softly, his voice carrying up her body.
She reveled in the trails of heat his kisses left along her body, closing her eyes and throwing her head back to the sky, as if she were to howl. Then he stopped, and she felt the warmth of his breath and the vibration of his words against her thighs. She sighed, blinking before turning to glance over her shoulder at him, gaze hazy with pleasure.

It's so meaningful, Lily whispered, staring at her mate. It's perfect. You mean everything to me. And she meant every bit of it.

She took a step backward, slowly but forcefully, pressing herself against the bulk of his chest. I want you, she said roughly, arcing her neck downwards as a sigh left her lips. I want to be yours, forever. She may have given her body to the others, but with Khali, she was giving away her heart and soul, too.
Khali smiled as she spoke that it was meaningful and how much he meant to her. She meant that much to him too. She had been the first female to ever work her way into his heart, ever. Any others tried but it didn't feel like this, it just didn't feel right not until now. Everything now felt so right.

When she pressed back into his chest it took him by surprise just a bit. Khali reared up on his back legs almost like a horse would and then came down to gently put his weight on her back. As much as he wanted to take her right then and there, it didn't feel right until he knew for sure she was comfortable and this is what she wanted. He left a small kiss on her back and then spoke gently, Is this okay? .
Finally he mounted her, and she gave in to the weight with a gentle gasp. He kissed the curve of her spine, not moving yet, and she slowly moved her hips against him, lifting her head once more. It's perfect, she whispered, out of words.

Sensation, and the elation that came with it, was all she wanted now.
Khali tried to be easy but nature overcame him as he eased into her and then grabbed the fur on her neck softly. With every thrust he felt as though they were one, one body, one mind, one wolf. The more he thrust the rougher he got with a low growl coming from his throat muffled through her fur he had ahold of. Eventually he let go of her fur and left a few kisses along her back, afraid if he held onto her skin for too long he'd hurt her.

A sudden overwhelming but sweet feeling came over him as he finished. His heart racing as he slowly dismounted her and then came up to lick her cheek. I love you he said softly toward her ear and laid his head over her neck. The day was perfect, there was nothing that could ruin that for him.
It was interesting, how different this was. Not only emotionally, but on a physical level, as well. The others had given her excitement, but here, with Khali, she felt only serenity. And perhaps left her body altogether; it was like staring at a scene through a frosted glass window, the outlines softened, the colors pastel.

Lily felt him move within her and exhaled long and slow, shifting to more easily bear his weight. They breathed in tandem--she felt his gasps and growls against her neck. For her part, she emitted no more than a low, pleased hum, deep in her throat, balancing nimbly on one tone. It rose a little when he spilled over, a quiet moan, a note of finality.

It was beautiful and simple and perfect. And she knew it was right.

I love you, Lily murmured, dipping her head to gently press her nose to his chest. She began to sink down, legs suddenly exhausted, trying to summon him with her. Lay with me, she crooned.

The ground was cool, and the air smelled of roses.
Afterward he breathed heavily for a moment or two and smiled at Lily as she seemingly seeped into the ground. It had been the perfect time. At the moment he never thought of pups or responsibilities just his love for the one who lay at his feet. He took in this moment..

of course my love he whispered as he walked behind her to slowly descend to the ground. He draped his head over her neck and closed his eyes. His muscles relaxed under his pelt and he sighed happily.
