It was a rather nice winter day and Nyx was enjoying the clouded sunrise when Tulugak came screeching in her ear. The bird wanted breakfast outside the borders again, and seeing that Nyx was going to mark the borders anyway, she nodded to her raven friend before getting up. Usually she stayed close to where Damien was, but today she had lost him in the mist and she could only howl for his presence with her at the borders they had decided on.

Arriving there, Tulugak flapped his wings and took off. Nyx knew he wouldn't stray far and was content with him leaving for a while to get his fill. She looked around then, still searching for the handsome man she could call her hubby.
CRACKS KNUCKLES

He arrived just in time to hear and see the last visages of the blackbird flapping away through the mist. There, his lover materialized, a hazy, beautiful splotch of black ink on a white canvas. This was a place where he could feel at home. The lack of cover provided by the trees was made up for by the mist. The sense of security that he felt from the wall of rock flanking the north of the territory and the moonstone canyons towards the south were but added commodities. The Weald was perfect.

Are we not creatures of the night anymore? asked Damien teasingly as he approached from behind, referring to the unusual time of their appointment. While he would much rather spend his time under the cover of darkness, he couldn't deny that his lover looked stunning under the tenuous lights of dawn.
Her torn ear flicked to the side, the soft crunches of Damien's feet catching her attention even before his teasing remark. She smiled a loving smile, one she only really showed when she was alone with Damien or Aries, before looking out into the world and place they had discovered. I could not possibly sleep when we are this close to having the place of our dreams... She replied in a soothing voice.

Besides, without daylight your eyes would not shimmer so nicely. She flirted as her attention returned to him, moving to brush against him.
How not to love her when his lover was so passionate? How not to give her everything she asked for when his lover was this grateful? I'll admit it, I thought meebee was going to murder me when I replied to that Stigmata thread, but there came Nyx again with her undying loyalty to her man. She was worth every single drop of blood.

I told you we would make it, said Damien returning the smile full of love. Although... I was thinking... Should I go back and thank Stigmata? He did kind of give us one more reason to find this place... he joked, which was unusual. But how not to feel in an airy mood when his lover was this sweet?
Yes, her lover was a big dumb dumb sometimes. Yes, he had some pride issues he should probably take care of. And yes, she did love him unconditionally despite his ego being bigger than the mountains she so hated. She should probably put more trust in his abilities too, but hey, you win some you lose a few hundred.

Oh shush. She stuck her tongue out at him before almost leaping away to land on the awfully defined border. Could use some blood and guts. Shall we? She asked with a wag of her tail.
He bumped her teasingly. Was it going to be like this forever? So harmonic, so gratifying? They had ups and downs like it was only natural, but for the most part Damien just felt like he was in the right place. Like it was Mephala's plan all along to bring him and Nyx together. It could be intimidating to think of that, for as easily as she had come to him Mephala could take away, but today none of those thoughts crossed his mind. There was only Nyx.

After you, ñuha dāria said the shadow prince with a gentle bow. He meant his words. Here they were King and Queen, and their kingdom lay before them. They could do as they pleased here, and for the look in her eyes that was just the thing they were about to do.
With a graceful squat and the pitter patter of running liquids hitting the bedding of the woods below did his queen take the lead in the marking of their borders. Though she would like to do something very different, it was a necessity that the borders be marked heavily this time. She really didn't want to deal with another NFW case where some other group wanted their claimed spot.
And how graceful she was! With a delicate squat Nyx let out the golden ink that would mark this place as theirs. Such a paradise, such a Kingdom. They were sure to thrive in this place and their lineage would stand firm for generations. That was the dream.

He took his turn to write his own signature on an elegant tree, but still after finishing the deed Damien felt like something was missing. Too much white... he said thoughtfully as he looked around and found not a single visual aid to make it clear that the place was taken Wouldn't you agree? he turned to Nyx with a quirked brow. The place could, indeed, use some blood and bones.
Her lovely partner drizzled over one of the tall trees. Yup, that tree was theirs too. And that one, and that one, and that one... All of this would go to them, their followers and their future children. The excitement of claiming the Weald had distracted her a bit from her deep desire to have pups this year, but the though popped into her head again.

It is rather bland indeed... She pondered in an obvious fake manner, claiming some more trees for her own as they made their way around. Let's hope the trespassers here are plentiful... She commented grimly with a grin. Her twisted soul matched his perfectly.
She knew what he meant, she always did, and as they move on with the protocolary pissing it was silently agreed upon that the bloodied borders would make a comeback. Ahh how he missed the stench and the statement it made. Strategically placed just beyond the borders, the chain of remains was accessible enough to lure in intrepid trespassers, but deep enough to give him an excuse to add them to the collection. Quite self-maintaining if you think about it, and just the right amount of gory.

And on it went, claiming yard after yard they went side by side until the daylight was too bright to bear. Then it would be time to move on to the real deal which was undoubtedly filling his girl of babies.

OK FADE WE DID IT
